Website enhancement announcements on payments - CC for auto dues payments?

For those of you with several gift cards, do you need to transfer the balances into one gift card or can you use several? I'm getting ready to try this out for the first time.

I just made a payment today and it appeared that you'd have to do multiple payments if you wanted to use multiple cards. It had a link on how/where to consolidate gift cards if you have multiple ones to use.

Ok, so does anyone understand this statement on the DVC website?

Contracts Enrolled in Autopay can only receive partial payments by Disney Gift Card or Disney Rewards® Redemption Card

I have been making several payments on my three contracts using GCs. My plan is to pay if off before auto-pay ever kicks in. But this statement sounds like I'll not be able to pay off my balance at some point. I'm sure I'm reading this wrong.

My dues balance was $1,619, I was setup for auto pay. I combined gift cards into $1,000 and $650. I went online yesterday and put in the card number for $1,000. It popped up "payment denied". Not what you want to see when holding $1,650 in gift cards. So I called and got right through to member accounting. She took my card numbers and I was paid in full. Whew! Glad to get that done, I hated holding those cards.

I would go to disneygiftcard.com and consolidate the balances first.

I ended up using 2 GCs to pay dues between 3 contracts. Right now, my auto-pay is scheduled to kick in in March. The plan is to continue buying more GCs when Kroger has 4X fuel points and in April when my Chase Freedom's 5% quarter on grocery purchases kicks in. I will keep paying online before auto-pay kicks in until my balance is zero. Still not sure what the statement about partial payments meant. I hope this works!

I think that this statement means that
1) If you want to pay in full you can use a credit card. You can also use Disney Gift Card or DRRC to pay in full.
2) If you want automatic payments, you must debit a bank checking account.
3) If you want to make partial payments in addition to your automatic payments, you can use Disney Gift Card. You can use Disney Rewards Redemption Card. But you cannot use a credit card (because #1)

Thanks for the clarification. So basically, if you want to make partial payments, you can't use a credit card. I wasn't planning on doing that anyway. I think my plan is going to work!

An update....

The DVC Website is AGAIN having issues.

Scenario: You attempt to pay online with a CC. Your CCV STARTS with a ZERO. FAIL - known issue with the DVC Website. You will see a CC Charge, followed within seconds by a CC debit.

The problem: DO NOT KEEP DOING THIS - your CC company, if they are good, will LOCK your account - perceiving an attack.

Instead? IF you have a CCV starting with a "Zero"? CALL CALL CALL CALL... Happened to us, Agent asked RIGHT out if our CCV started with a Zero, fessed up ("IT is having an issue")..... Basically? If your CCs CCV starts with a ZERO - CALL Member Services. Online Billing is broken. Again.

All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong - do what you choose to do.
