This info was posted on the member website this morning. In addition to now paying with GC's online you can set up your auto pay enrollments. It also indicates using credit cards for your dues auto payments although when I went in I only saw options to select a checking or savings account.

"Introducing New Website Enhancements
Now you can enjoy new website features designed to help you manage your Annual Dues and Loans with ease. With these enhancements, you can:
• Request to enroll in automatic payments
• Change your bank account or credit card information associated with your automatic payments
• Pay your Annual Dues online using new forms of payment—a Disney Gift Card or a Disney Rewards® Redemption Card
• Take advantage of making partial payments on your Loans and Annual Dues
• Save credit cards for future payments
•View your 1098 tax information for the last 2 years"

The enhanced dues portion of the website won't allow for a CC for automatic payments. The CC option (apparently) only applies to loan auto payments.

Thanks Kat4Disney. I went in to the MS website and checked out the changes. I was a little concerned on the number of payment card options we have on file, including the fact that one credit card was listed twice which probably means they kept the old expiration date as well as the current expiration date for that same card number. It does tell you to call member accounting to remove or added payment options. We usually pay our annual dues using a Disney Redemption card and pay the rest with our Disney Visa CC. It looks complicated but we might still be able to do that online. I hope the system will just ask us if we want to pay the remainder with the CC on file or another CC.

I just saw Michael's post. I hope didn't get my hopes up for nothing.

If you're doing a a lump sum payment for the remainder I think it should work. It's just for the auto payments that the description of the enhancements indicates you could use a CC which would be a change from only allowing a bank account. But when you go into the section to set it up it only shows the bank account option and not the CC option that they mentioned. Either that part was poorly worded or there's still a change coming for the monthly auto payments.

Fingers crossed. But I better get the duplicate cards fixed as I don't know which one has the correct expiration date.

I would guess poorly worded. The enhancements listed include changes to both dues and loans. Some changes appear to apply to both, while others apply to one or the other.

We saw the early post on this while we were signed in to the DVC website this AM, so of course we checked it out because we'd love to make monthly payments via a rewards-earning CC. We couldn't see a way to switch automatic payments from checking account to CC, so we talked to Member Accounting to ask whether that would become possible in 2017. The CM told us that it will not - autopay for dues will continue to be from a bank account only, although a CC can be used at any time to pay the remaining balance for the year.

Bummer, I'd like to be able to pay with a credit card and earn all those nice rewards. Oh well.

Really I could then pay 11 months off all at once with a CC?

We have always paid annually using a combination of Disney rewards and CC, but then we have only owned since 2009.

We've been paying annual fees in one shot via credit card for many years. CC rewards aren't huge, but we also prefer to get the bill paid and out of the monthly budget.

I have been waiting until early February to pay because I also use Rewards dollars and occasionally gift cards to pay. Until this coming year, I had to call to do that and I don't like sitting on hold to give them $$. January hold times are just too long and there hasn't been a penalty for waiting - unless you wait beyond Disney's deadline, which has been mid-February.

For those of you who pay with either a CC or a Disney GC, how do you budget when annual dues increases aren't announced until late in the year? I'm set up on autopay right now, but I'm thinking of paying for at least one of my contracts upfront with Disney GCs. That will reduce my monthly autopay for next year. I'm thinking about taking the extra savings each month and buying more Disney GCs (getting fuel points and cashback) to pay for the dues next year, but I have no idea how much to actually put back. How do you know you won't come up short?

ETA--After thinking about it, I'm wondering if you are better leaving everything on autopay and then using however many GCs you've collected to pay on your dues in January. Then if there is any amount left over, using autopay to take care of it. A question I have about that is does paying some off early change the monthly payment?

We set up a savings account for DVC dues. We put in what we need for the yearly dues, each year increase by 5% and adjust in necessary. Pay with a rewards card then use the savings account to pay off the credit card charge.

I'm hoping my grocery store (Giant Eagle) will have a great promo on gift cards like last year. I bought $1700 worth to pay my dues and ended up with $170 in grocery store coupons, $3.60 per gallon fuel perks, 1700 SW points which made what I needed for the 50,000 point enrollment bonus. I figured my savings account isn't making much interest.

I'm really thinking about buying some Disney GCs right now. I have some extra funds available, but not enough to pay all my dues. Does anyone know if I can leave my dues on autopay but then pay a large portion of them off early in January using the GCs? If so, what will happen to the remaining balance? Will the monthly payment stay the same until it's all paid, or will the remaining balance then be evenly divided among the remaining months?
