DD's favorite store, Weathervane, is going out of business in our local mall. I was pretty surprised. All the teenage girls wear their clothes and they're reasonably priced.

Is it just ours, or are they all closing?

No, the one at our mall is closing too. I saw in the paper a while ago that they are in bankruptcy or something.

They're closing in New Hampshire and when we were at the Berkshire Mall last week in Mass, that one had already closed. My sister is very depressed. I personally like Aeropostale better.

gosh, i haven't seen a weathervane in about 8 years! :o

trust me - the clothes are not the same from what they were 8 years ago...

Stinkerbelle is right. The clothes at Weathervane are downright skanky. I'm a teenager and I don't even shop there anymore. A couple years ago, they were good teen clothes. Now they're just like everywhere else.

ok - I'm glad someone else said it - but monarchsfan is 100% right. I used to be able to go there and find 'respectable' clothes. (as when I was 15/16 years old...we didn't look like the 15/16 years olds do today.) I'm talking classy sweaters/pants/shirts/dresses...but all of a sudden, it just got real trashy looking...the entire store was overhauled.

my new favorite store is New York and Co...never really went in there until a few weeks ago...nice stuff, a little edgier then, say Gap, but still respectable.

The Weathervane in the Maine Mall is closing, also. I guess they all are. My DD13 likes shopping there and was disappointed to find they are closing.

And, I disagree about their clothes. They may have some "skanky" items, but they also have decent clothes. Believe me, I wouldn't let my daughter shop there if the clothes were that bad. They have a lot of t-shirts similar to Aeropostale.

My daughter found a cute cardigan sweater that was on sale for $6.00. She wore it for "Fifties Day" at her middle school. It looked exactly like the ones that girls wore with their poodle skirts back then. She has also found some nice, and relatively inexpensive jeans at Weathervane. And, last year I bought her a cute jacket for about ten dollars. Nothing she has bought there is the least bit trashy looking. I do agree, however, that you have to look around because there are some items that I would never allow her to wear. Now, you want to talk skanky, check out Abercrombie and Fitch. Granted, you can find some things in there, but the majority of their clothes are not something I would want to see on a young teen. And talk about prices, don't get me started!

Wow, haven't heard that name in years, they have been gone from our malls for 10 years or thereabouts.
