Hey all; I have been constantly checking the weather forecasts for orlando. I will be going to Disney mid week next week and it says "thunder showers" for most of the days I will be there. Can anyone tell me if these thunder showers last ?? Will I see any sun on my vacation? :(

Your guess is as good as ours, but unless it's a weather front, it is usually hit or miss with thunderstorms in FL when the weather gets warm. The good news is that most of the time it's a quick shower and the sun comes right back out, the bad news is that afterwards it gets really humid!

Plus the weather guys can be unreliable when they're forecasting that far out... keep checking and I bet they'll end up changing it.

We plan to carry poncho's just in case. You can usually count on a mid-day shower that is not long lasting but the humidity afterwards can be terrible.

thank you for replying. I hope we do get to see sun! because all I have packed is shorts tank tops and swim suits!!! no pants or jackets! :) hope everyone has a great trip I know I cannot wait to get to disney!

I hadn't been checking the weather for my trip next week until my mom decided on Sunday she wanted to join me. There's a running joke in my family that whenever she's at Disney, it rains the entire time. After she booked her ticket, I checked the weather & its supposed to rain, I'm really hoping it doesn't rain the entire time. I take a rain coat/poncho that fits in my drawstring backpack & head for a show when it starts to rain.

We just returned last Friday and had one tiny rain squall that lasted all of 30 minutes. However, according to their local weather forecasts, Orlando will soon be approaching the "thunderstorms every afternoon" summer weather. The temps on our trip were in the high 80's, but were predicted to be going up this week. The humidity was still under 50% on our trip, but when that increases, so does the risk of storms.

I say pack a poncho and keep going! Unless there is thunder/lightning when you must be undercover to be safe. But one thing is certain.....rain sure clears out a park fast! :)

I just returned last night. The forecast had showers for about 4 of the days we were there. Only one evening it actually rained while we were at dinner (from 7-9 PM) and it did cool off a bit after the rain.

Yesterday was the worst weather day with a short heavy rain around 2PM. We were at lunch so I don't know how long it lasted. But it was sunny afterward. Then shortly after the heavens opened up and there was a downpour and it was pretty nasty weather for a while. Flights were grounded and it was very windy and heavy rain. This was from about 3:55-evening. Not sure beyond that b/c we were in the airport.
