Weather In May

Accepting the fact that weather is unpredictable, what is May in Florida generally like?

We absolutely cannot do humid heat. Medical concerns mean the fall is right out, but we were fine in January and I'm wondering about Spring. Our youngest has a mid-May birthday and it might be fun to go for that one year. We'd still need to look at crowds and airfares, but weather is the potential dealbreaker.

We went the week leading into Mother's Day and the weather was BEAUTIFUL.

It's pretty variable, I'd say. We've gone several times in late May; sometimes extremely pleasant and enjoyable, sometimes beastly.

The year we went in May was absolutely perfect. No other trip compared, so it's when we are going back again!

Before our oldest got to High School we would go every year in May. It is a GREAT time of year to go both for the weather and the crowds. Generally speaking the first two weeks of May have relatively low humidity and relatively low crowds. We miss going in May now that we are going the last week of August!!

We've been a couple of times in May. Both were excellent. Hot (leaving Canada) but not too wet. This year, we were there the first two weeks of May and the weather was near perfect. One rainy day at Epcot (but it always rains while we're at Epcot, it's some sort of rule buried deep in the WDW website somewhere).

It's a great time for us.

We don't mind dry heat and we don't mind cool and wet, but wet heat causes my lungs to shut down which is messy and awkward.

In can be humid. Although, leaving winter, where it's very dry at 'home', everything feels humid. I would defer to others to determine how humid it is.

Humidity is generally in the 70's. So it'll definitely be pretty hot and you'll feel the humidity but it won't be as brutal as August. Then the occasional afternoon showers

we were there this year in May. We got there right after Mothers Day and it got unexpectedly hot! We took mid day breaks and went back out around 6 or 7 at night. I have asthma and two other people in our group are diabetic. We all carried water bottles with us so we could stay hydrated. The breaks were clutch and helped a lot. There were a few late night showers but nothing major.

We have gone twice during the week of Mother's Day - best trips ever! Low crowds, and weather was perfect.

If it has to be in May go as early in the month as possible, the humidity and temperatures really start to rise in mid May.The humidity will never be as bad as July through September but if you're not used to humidity even what is considered "not bad" humidity for Floridians is bad for others. The temperatures go from nice to hot in mid April so May will be hot,no doubt about it,probably 80's but 90's is very possible,I've seen mid 90's in May and October, what I consider the transitional months of the year that can get very hot but drier than the mid summer months.

May this year was picture perfect.. humidity didn't really show up until june, that is not normal. early may should be better than late may. There was a few really hot days in may this year but nothing like this summer/fall so far.

This was from April 2012:

I'll rain like this about every other day or so for maybe 30 minutes....and then be hot, sunny, and humid.
