Weather in May + accommodation

Can't decide when to go next year. Haven't been for 20 years. What is the weather like the first 2 weeks in May and what about the crowds.

I am also looking for accommodation (preferably an apartment/house) south of LA for easy access to San Diego. Can anyone recommend some good sites? I've had a look at a couple and they seem very expensive compared to Orlando.

Hi Debbie,

The weather in May is usually very warm and comfortable (mid-80's) so shorts/t-shirt for daytime, but at night it cools off quickly so bring a sweatshirt to throw on in the evenings.

The first week in May would be a good time to go. It's after springbreak time (mid-March thru April), and it's before schools let out for summer vacation (mid-May thru August). Crowds will probably be moderate the first two weeks of May, but after that the heavy summer crowds will begin.

I don't have much advice on accomodations, but I have also found that rates in the Orlando area are much less compared to L.A, Anaheim, and southern California.

Since you haven't been to Disneyland for 20 years, I sure hope you decide to visit.

I think this May will have much higher crowd levels due to the Anniversary.......if possible I would consider early September, but that is an admitted crowd phobic opinion !

Yes we don't like crowds at all but we can't go later in the year so are trying to go early (but when it's warm).

To be honest we don't spend many days at Disneyland - we make sure we visit as many other places as we can too. We are hoping that other parks will be quiet - what do you think?? Don't want to go all that way and just see Disneyland!
