I assumed that it wouldn't be too much of an issue for me coming from Scotland and particularly bad winters, but after having looked at some of the old trip reports, it looks like we could be in for an icy cold trip at the start of January.

How cold is it at that time of year? And are we in for snow storms and the likes? Or is it just likely to be icy?

When we've been in January, it's just cold. Sometimes there's a bit of rain, but I don't remember a great deal in the way of rain and certainly no major snow-storms.

Thank goodness. I was panicking when I saw the Dumbo's frozen and Lake Disney all frozen up in the pictures. I thought if there's a big downpour of rain, it would end up a snow blizzard :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: If it's just cold, I can handle that, that's cool, thanks

We wre there in Jan 07 and it was COLD COLD COLD

But as long as you have hats, scarfs and gloves and layer up well you will be grand.

I bought the boys salopettes but they only wore them one day

I hope it is jus cold.

As long as it's dry I'll be happy!

I'm going to buy ski wear for myself fo wet days, and then just lots of fluffly snugly layers (Incl. thermals) for if its dry! :-)

I can't wait to experience the park in the cold and get hot chocolates and things. How romantic!!

Expect rain, rain and more rain lol. We had hard rain everyday in January and let me tell you it was ABSOUTLY freezing cold....Jack frost was out in force this year.

I think you may have been unlucky Emma. We've been in January several years now and last year was the only year we've really had any rain :thumbsup2

I dont think i had ever been so cold and soaked in all my life lol. Am expecting the same next January aswell lol. Note to self-pack better footwear lol.

Yeah...I really have no clue for footwear.

I might get waterproof socks!I was even thinking of some type of lined croc affair...

Whatever you wear, make sure it's fairly waterproof, just in case it rains. Even if you have to buy some waterproofing spray and use that, it's well worth it. I used this on a pair of boots I bought in Slovenia back in March and they stayed nice and dry :thumbsup2

Im going to get some wellies that have the fur inside to keep the tootsies warm. I was so unprepared last time, ive seen a nice hello kitty hat and scarf set on ebay i will purchase nearer the time aswell lol.

Furry Wellies?! I'm there!!!

Awesome!!

I love HK but feel like I can't endorse Sanrio at Disney. Lol.

I've been thinking about all the nice fleecey warm cosy clothes I can take with me too (imagine us all thinking about packing 5/6 months in advance :lmao: ). It's funny coz my feet have been cold today so I've had my furry boots on and been thinking all day I'll have to get myself a cheapy pair for DLP ;)

I was also thinking of having a look in Next for stuff for the kids because they had stuff last year that was like ski-wear warm and waterproof, that would be perfect for them.

Ah well, at least we'll all be prepared.

ukstitch The waterproof spray sounds good, any idea where I would get some?

Same Q from me too. And does it waterproof anything? Like if I bought some £10 cheapy Primark UGGs would it work on them?? Or does it need to be made of a 'real' material, lol.

Also, UKSTITCH, do you have a tchibo near you? Had lovely kids ski wear last winter! Wished it came in my size, although the ladies jacket I bought is lovely.

I wouldnt wear Primark Uggs if its raining, lol your end up with very wet feet.

Not if the spray works wonders?!?! Lol.

That website wasn't very good in retrospect.....I think I'll wait till the winter. Might get the strawberry ear muffs though. :)

Im going to get the wellies, am looking for some nice pink funky looking ones. I know Primark sell wellies but i dont trust them keeping the water out lol.

Did you mean me for the kids ski-wear? I've never even heard of tchibo though :confused3

I'll second this as I wore these round to the shop just 5 minutes away today. First time ever out in them and my feet were soaking when I got home. Hoping the waterproof spray would work on them though :thumbsup2
