OK so for all you folks that have gone in December..can you give me an idea what the "AVERAGE" weather is like ..we leave on the 3rd and i am trying to get an idea what i am going to need to pack....thanks for all advice...

We always go to WDW the first week in December. The weather varies from day to day. The mornings are usually chilly, so I wear a light jacket or sweater over a short sleeve shirt. By midday, the temp can be in the upper 70s to lower 80's. The evenings can be very cold. Have a great trip!

now that is the kinda weather i wanna hear!!! ...woo hooo..oh let it be true!!! :teeth:

I've seen it as warm as the lower 80's during the day, and then I've seen it in the upper 30's/low 40's during the day to below freezing at night. One year we went to TL after Christmas. It was in the high 70's with a light cool breeze, a little bit too cool for me to go swimming, but my kids did. We usually go the week after Christmas but have gone earlier in the month. It can be a little warmer then than at Christmas.

When we go in December, we pack everything from shorts & T shirts to jeans, sweatshirts, jackets & gloves. It is best if you wear layers, as it is cool in the morning and tends to warm up during the day, but as evening comes, it can get chilly. It's hard to predict what the weather will be like, so I would rather be prepared for all possibilities.

We have been at that time and had temps in the low 80s and as low as 30 degrees with wind. And, when it gets cold there it is humid and feels even colder. Add a little wind and brrrr!!!!!! One year we had gloves, mufflers, hats, heavy coats and wished for long underwear. Some years we have never even taken the coats out of the suitcase.

The evenings, though, are always a tad chilly and usually require a light jacket at the minimum. Often during the day we can wear shorts. It just depends but we pack for temps from 20 degrees to 85 degrees. One year we didn't and we wished we had the entire time. We've been going for about 10 years at this time of the year.

Last year was our first Christmas there..and it was in the 80's every day and 60's at night. It was perfect. We always go in August so this was nice change (also, no hurricanes). We are going back again this Christmas, and are hoping for great weather again, but I will be prepared for anything.

Reading the few posts here I have to say, your perception of cold will be primarily influence by where you are from. You're in Ohio so you know what COLD can really be as oposed to some one living in a warm southern climate that thinks 50 si bone chilling. We LOVE December. We're both born and raised Minnesotans. Yep, it got down into the upper 30s a few night and we usually had shorts and a sweat-shirt on and we were really fine. And dressing with that t-shirt under the sweatshirt for the times where you really did get warm. But upper 70s low 80s were what we had when we've been there in at that time and then lows in the 59s were typical.
Pack a little warm weather stuff and a little cooler weather stuff. You won't need parkas or anything. :lol 40 above in the late late evening hours (which isn't all the time, it just happens) is FAR from 40 below! And remember, buying clothes at WDW is FUN!!!! We usually get half of our casual wardrobe there so packing is light!
Thankfully the water in the pools and water parks is heated! We'll be spending a day at Blizzard Beach next Dec. :) :hyper:
HAVE FUN!

yea 50 will feel balmy to us i am sure....since here it gets down right frosty!!!! thanks for the info !!!

is a GREAT time to go! When we last went that week, it was exactly 80 every day and only down to between 65-70 every night. We went swimming a few days and it never rained a drop. But with it being central Flordia, the weather can change quickly. We went last year the week before Thanksgiving and it was too cool to swim.

Have a great time!

I from Chicago and lived most of my life there until the last 11 years when we moved to GA, so I know what cold is. When we went in 2000, it was down below freezing and it was a damp chill with a breeze. EVERYONE was bundled up with coats and gloves and blankets on the kids in the strollers. I had layers of clothing on and I still could not keep warm. It was below freezing that night, with the temps probably in the low 30's or high 20s. When we got back to the room, my face felt like it was on fire for the next 2 hours.

You're right when you're from up north or Chicago like I am, 29 or 30 isn't that cold there. But in FL, the weather is damp there and the chill just goes through to the bones!

That being said, it probably won't be that cold going earlier in the month (we were there the week after Christmas), but it's still better to be prepared just in case.

Welcome to Fla. It could change so much. One day it could be high 70's low 80's and next day not get out of the 60's. Nights are cooler so just bring pants and shorts and a light jacket and you should be fine.
