My friends Family and myself will be going to DL in Dec. I have never been to So Cal at that time of years and was wondering what the weather is usually like so we know how to pack. Thanx

Pack some of everything. Mostly you'll need things like jeans and pants, t-shirts for day, adding a sweatshirt for mornings and evenings at least. Sometimes we get unseasonably warm weather and you might want shorts. Sometimes it gets really cold, esp at night, so make sure you can layer.

You never know what it will be like. It can be rainy and cold or just plain cold. It can also be mild and at times even warm. Best thing is to wait till right before you leave and check the weather.

I suppose it all depends on what you think is cold... Last Dec when we were there, the kids played in the pool at HoJo's, we wore sandals and shorts the whole time.. a light sweater for the evenings once it cooled off.

Some people were wearing leather jackets, winter jackets, full pants, etc...all day~! It was HOT HOT HOT For us though..

We are from Calgary... so that weather was wonderful for us in the winter.

We are from Boise Idaho so we don't really feel cold until it hits 40 or 30 degrees. What is the average temp? Just to give me an idea.

Daytime temperature is probably in the 60's or low 70's. Early morning/night temps can get as low as 35-40 degrees.
The thing is it varies every year. I would just check the weather in the week prior to your trip.
Wish I could give you definite answers but our weather is weird down here. Our seasons tend to blend together! :rotfl2:

If we are in an El Nino year, it will be relatively warm for December. But my experience is that Disneyland will get very chilly at night.

If it gets hot during the day, wear your shorts BUT make sure you bring a pair of pants for the evening. You can store your clothing at public lockers at the front entrance or at the end of Main Street to the right as you enter Tomorrowland.

Understand, last December and January were unseasonably warm. I would say you can't go by last year as a guide. I can be very clear, cold and DRY.

I live in the Pacific NW and I love DL in Dec. It always cracks me up to see people bundled up when it "goes all the way down" to 65! Jeans and t-shirt works great during the day and I sometimes need to go get a sweatshirt from the hotel for later in the evening if the breeze is off the ocean. You might want to plan for the occassional shower, too. Maybe get a few of those really cheap ponchos from a dollar store that take up no room in a purse or pocket.

We went in early December 04 and loved it.

It was warm in the day, but cool at night, so, as mentioned above, you need to pack everything. Some days we were in Tee-shirts, on others just a light sweater, but at night it was coats and gloves.

It rained a few times, but it was light showers. However, this kept the crowds away which was superb.

Our kids also swam in the pool at Hojo's at night, but the pool was superbly heated.

In short - weather is good and crowds non-existent, the perfect combination.

You must have seen us Arizona folks there. I was cracking up when I saw your post because it describes me completely.

We went to Cali for Christmas last year. The few days around Christmas and Christmas day were weird. It was cold one day, hot the next and rainy the day after.
