I will be there this weekend, at forecast is for sun and 80ish. My question is that I have heard that it feels cooler than temp due to low humidity. Is this true? Will it be hot enough for shorts/tanks during the day or should we bring capris/pants? Thanks

Shorts and tanks are fine, especially if you are coming from a cooler climate. It does cool down later in the day, so a light sweater/capris would be beneficial, too. I would say tank and capris during the day and light sweater at night.

You can always buy a new shirt to use as a night cover!!!!

Ditto...light things for the day, and extra cover for at night. Along with the low humidity, there tends to be a bit of wind/breeze at the parks. So the sun will keep it comfortable during the day, but it can get nippy at night.

Actually, I've never found it to feel cooler than the forecast. Usually the forecast is not accurate. They actually underestimate. If they say 80...it'll probably be closer to 85-90. In the sun, it will definitely feel hot. Shorts weather for sure.

if the forecast is 80 then in reality anaheim will be 85º...if your looking on weather.com they are always 5º cooler than in actuality

I agree with JaneJetson and Disneegrl4eva - the temps are always underestimated, and unless it is in the peak of Winter or close to Christmas in December when it MAY drop down to 60 degrees during the day and 30 degrees at night, it always feels HOTTTTTTT to me at DL. I rarely feel any kind of a breeze, and, in fact, the heat seems more intensifed in DL because of ALL those people crowded in, and the fact that you stand in the sun for lines and things. It doesn't matter that there is low humidity most of the time out here - that just means that it is not as muggy and moist. California is a desert state, after all! But heat is heat is heat, so if it is 80 degrees or 90 degrees, those prone to getting sick or sunburnt in the heat are not going to be comfortable in dry heat - they just won't be sticky, is all!

I always used to bring my sweatshirt (I get cold easily) to Disneyland in the Fall/Winter. I'd be cold in the Mickey and Friends parking lot and on the tram. But then the second I'd step on main street...I'd be hot.

See, this is my excuse. "Dang, it got chilly fast... and oopsie, I forgot my sweater! I guess I'll have to go buy that overpriced sweatshirt (that I've secretly had my eye on the past few days)."
:thumbsup2

The high for today was 77 degrees, I thought it would be chilly so I wore a t-shirt and jeans. I WAS SO HOT! It's hot enough to do GRR and Splash.

Wear shorts and tank!

Or oh but yet another good reason to visit the Disney warehouse, in Fullerton! :)

Oh, you bring up a good point, Jane - the tram. If anyone rides the tram before getting into the parks, especially at night, they may think they have taken a sudden turn into a Siberian winter. It is COLD - and I LOVE the cold - but riding the tram made my teeth chatter uncontrollably because I didn't have a jacket on. However, do not let that fool you, folks who are uninitiated, because as soon as you get into the parks amongst thousands of people, and find yourself standing in the sun, waiting to get on a ride, you will regret bringing that jacket. Seventy-seven degrees in Disneyland can feel like 87 degrees! I like it to be a nice 60 degrees or so in the day, because it will FEEL like it is 70 degrees in the crowds.

Last year in late September when I was at DL, it poured rain on us the first night and second day of our trip. That was a problem in and of itself because it was really raining hard and it really made things difficult. My glasses were streaked and I couldn't see in front of me. Even my Park Hopper got soaked. However, as soon as it stopped pouring, the sun came out and beamed down on us and it felt like it was 80 degrees! I even got sunburnt! Then, in two hours, it was raining again and I had to scramble for my jacket. I couldn't get into a good weather 'flow,' because the weather and accessories kept changing and my wardrobe had to change with it!

Oh yeah! I forgot about how cold the tram is but as soon as I read this the memories all came back to me. :)

And I agree that it seems hotter in DL than outside presumably because of the crowds and all the cement. It's also been a lot more humid down here this year than it usually is. It's been better the past couple of days so maybe the humidity is finally leaving us.

i have no idea how hot 80 or 60 or anything is.. i am australian we use celcius so when i see 80 i think of it in my temp range and think.. ouch.

i will be there for the first two and a bit weeks of december. now most people say 60 is the average... but how cold is that.. do you dress like an eskimo or do you just dress normally.

60 will seem like 70 in the park because of all the people. Just dress normally in the day, but have a jacket nearby - either in your hotel or in a locker. Then, at night, it will be cold, so bundle up in coats and sweaters and things.

really you thought so??? I dont think it was humid at all just hot...well it cooled down on the 4th a bit now end of June it was H U M I D....

renderman here is my suggestion.....Dec. can be a really tricky month...but no matter what it is, the nights will be really cool....the only time Im sure it wont be cold is july and august so I only bring shorts and tanks...during dec. I bring capris, short sleeve and long sleeve shirts and jeans, long pants etc...one year it will be really cold and windy and the next year really nice in the day and cold at night...you just never know...so do what I do...start checking weather 10 days out and remember to add 5º to whatever the temp says it will be so you get a more accurate figure and then pack accordingly...it can rain in dec. certainly but it rarely does
