I am worried about the weather for our trip next week. In Anaheim on Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Fri it is predicted that it will only be about 65-66 and raining. How accurate do you think it is when it is still 5 days away? We purposely booked in April because it's supposed to be the month of least rain and now this is the forecast we have to look forward to. I am just praying so hard that things change drastically between now and then!

I live in WI and today it was nearly 80 and sunny, I would hate to be going somewhere that the weather is WORSE than here. UGH

Amy,

I'm so sorry you are feeling this way! Normally by this time all the rain IS gone, but with the El Nino, we are having very unpredictable weather this year.

I just checked the weather forecast, and it is only a 20- 30% chance of rain at this point, with cloudy to partially sunny skies, highs close to 70.

Five days out is too early; the forecast constantly changes when it comes to rain, so I would check again 2 days out to get a better indication.

I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I am so bummed it's supposed to be so cold. :( I have tons of shorts and tank tops packed for the kids, I wonder if I should change them out with short sleeves and jeans?

That's pretty much what I figured. I really wish dh had not showed me what the weather forecast was already.

I don't think you'll be using tanks tops, but maybe some shorts..

It really is so unpredictable this year - we've gone from freezing days (OK, freezing for us - high 50s) to high 80s almost overnight and then back again.

I know it makes it harder to pack, but 2 days prior the weather picture will be much clearer as to rain or not, although I think even without rain, the highs will only be in the low 70s, unless something unusual happens.

And no matter what, it will be cool mornings and evenings, so some jeans and a sweatshirt are really a must for this time of year.

I think your trip will go well if you adapt a bit. I think August is the month with the least rain, maybe September.

The 5 day forecast has a way of changing many times. However, they have been predicting rain on Tues and Wed. for the last few days. Still, you never know if it will show up.

The local forecast for O.C (watching ABC right ) is showing
Tues, High 64, rain 40%
Wed. High 64, rain 30%
Thur. High 68 no rain.

30% and 40% aren't that large of a chance of rain, you may not get any. Many times the rain predicted for this area will stay more north of Anaheim than the prediction shows. Will be more likely to hit L.A. and go directly East. (missing O.C) Many times the weather forecasts we receive here in Corona (IE) will say we will definitely have rain and then it stays to the north of us, never reaching us. Even when it's being reported that it's pouring out.

Hope you have a wonderful trip-good news is if it rains the locals will stay away!

Personally if the high will be 64-68, I don't wear shorts. That's just too cold for us So Cal natives. And it's not so much the cold, but the dampness that comes when the sun sets.;)

Thank You locals for giving me hope it won't rain out our California Adventure Vacation.

I'm in the same boat as you. We are going next week and I got the kids some great new summer clothing but then I look at the weather and its warmer here in Ohio...wierd hu. Yesterday it was 85-86, this has been one hot spring. They need jackets and Jeans...uuugg

I keep stressing over it and I can not change a thing...Oh except I bought some rain ponchos at Target to throw in the suitcase just in case.

I am going the week after next, and I'm also disappointed that it doesn't look like it will be very warm. I'm planning to wear jeans and a t-shirt while in the parks and will be bringing a zip up hoodie in case it gets chilly.

According to the web site of the local news station that I listen to daily, they are not predicting rain next T - Fri, but it will not be anywhere near 80. Late March in So Cal is usually a little chilly.

I might pack shorts depending upon what your family is comfortable with weather-wise, but I would DEFINITELY pack jeans/pants. I have been wearing long pants for a while now in So Cal and have a sweater/sweatshirt with me in the evenings. The high predicted for W and Th is 61 and 59 with lows in the 40s.

As for rain, you mentioned that you booked April because its the month with the least rain. I'm not sure who told you this, but it's just not true. We get rain in April. "April showers bring May flowers." the predictions for "cloudy" could change to rain as it gets closer. Or... it could change to sunny - that's Spring in So. Cal.

I would throw some non-shorts in the suitcase though,

Amy, More then likely the weather will be fine with a few showers. :)

We are heading to DL on Sunday, probably getting to hotel around noon. We will be there Mon, Tue, Wed, heading home Thursday. I have packed jeans, t-shirts, my Tinkerbell hoodie, and a warm sweater, light and med. weight socks, and couple pair of capri pants. We live out west so the cold and damp bothers us more.

My DD and DSIL live in Wis. they usually come visit us in February. They are walking around the house in shorts, t-shirts and bare feet. DH and myself are dressed in jeans, long sleeve shirts and with ankle high slippers on for warmth. :goodvibes

The bottom line is your going to one of the happiest places on earth. Bring a poncho for each of you and have a ball. Our last trip to DL was Christmas 2003, it rained and was REALLY COLD and too wind for an umbrella. We did and saw everything, the good part was it kept the locals from coming to parks. So it wasn't crowded.

Sending you pixie dust for a wonderful vacation and great weather for us all! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:
