Now, let me reflect on staying off site.....I have to tell you, we felt a little like outsiders.....our noses pressed again the disney window looking in from the SeaWorld side of things....don't get me wrong....the SeaWorld people who set up this trip for us were wonderful....couldn't have been nicer....the hotel was a 6 story Residence Inn, very clean, beautifully furnished....the quality of the breakfast was 4 star....one night the pool was out of towels....I went in to the front desk to tell them & within 5 minutes there were warm fresh towels by the pool....we were a little mislead by their shuttle system....it left the hotel at 8:45 am to go to SeaWorld & returned only once late in the afternoon....we took our rental instead....it was worth the $9 parking fee to be able to come & go as we wanted.....Bottom Line: It Was Not Disney.....I missed looking for my special resort bus, even if it was the last one in the row....I missed the disney decor in the rooms.....the convenience of leaving a park, going for a swim at my resort, & then going back to see a Fantasmic, or Illuminations, or whatever at night....

Day 3: May 2nd, Tuesday, SeaWorld & Downtown Disney

Today we got up (no alarm) & had a great breakfast at the hotel....we needed to be at SW by 10:00 to check in for our behind the scenes tour...we had a choice of 3 different ones, & we picked the polor bears & penguins tour.....when we checked in, we found out it was at 10:30 so we had to speed walk to the far end of the park....how many of you can say you pet a penguin? Very interesting tour....we really enjoyed it alot.....we also had a taste of an adult beverage at the Anheiser Busch restaurant....nice & cold brewskys on a mid 80's afternoon....saw the Shamu show, The Making of Believe.....very good but I still enjoyed the dolphin show better from our trip to SW on Sunday....the kids did Journey to Atlantis & Kraken a couple of times....we saw some other exhibits that were very good, but we were pretty beat from our 12 hours at MK....so we headed back to the hotel, took a nap & went to Downtown Disney....now that is where the mother ship is calling my son home....Virgin MegaStore....House of Blues.....just the whole atmosphere is awesome....we ended up eating at Wolfgang Puck express & heading back to the hotel because it was packed with people everywhere....

I started packing & getting depressed because I knew tomorrow was the end of a great surprise trip....a trip we never expected to take.....our flight the next day was uneventful....got back to Buffalo around 5:00....hope you enjoyed this report....I enjoyed reliving it.....Susan.....oh, by the way, the Free Trip ended up costing us around $400....not bad considering the cost of the trip would have been almost $3000.....

Did you see that little Pet's Ahoy thing at SeaWorld? IMO that is the best show there, love those cats!

No, we didn't see the Pets Ahoy show because the times didn't fit with where we were.....you really need to orchestrate your day at SW.....& I knew my daughter would have loved it, maybe next time....

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for sharing.

My husband won a trip to Italy and we went. We got a 1099 in the mail at tax season, ouch. Luckily our refund paid the tax.

Congratulations on winning your trip!! You packed in alot in the short time there too - I always was curious about people who won trips (my husband use to think you had to own your own home, business and have a 900 credit rating to win anything :rotfl2: ). My DS13 would be in heaven winning a trip to Seaworld - glad you had a nice time!
