Florida schools, at least in my neck of the woods, dont go back until august 20th. There may be a chance that it will be slower, but it generally doesnt slow down a lot until after labor day.
The upside for that is what you will spend on a room, you can buy Express for the same price. Its not unlimited, but you will get to see all of the attractions that have express at least once.......and if you follow the rules, you wont even need express.
Rule 1: Have your tickets. If you have your tickets in hand when you enter the parking lot, you will not have to wait in line to get your tickets.
Rule 2:GET THERE EARLY. If you get to the park at least an hour before the park opens, you will be one of the first to be at the gate. Yeah, you have to wait at a closed gate for an hour, but usually they open the parks up a little early if there are people gathering. Never under estimate the lines. If you think you have time for breakfast because there arent a lot of people walking around....you dont. They are all at the front gates. You will be able to do at least 3-4 rides before you see really any kind of wait.
Rule 3: Go to Islands of Adventure First. Sure there are people that will disagree with me, but countless times I have done this. We are done seeing what we want to see at Islands by noon.....and thats with stopping for lunch. We then go to the studios and hit all the big rides we want, usually waiting in a long line.....about 30 minutes. Islands tends to get really busy by noon. If you go to the other park first....then you'll be waiting for even the small rides.
Rule 4:Take drinks and snacks. Load up a bookbag. Keep the drinks on ice until the very last minute that you cant. They will stay cool for quite a while. This way you dont have to stop for anything to drink, and you can keep moving.
No need for "touring" plans. No need for long drawn out schedules. Just stick with the rules and keep moving. And you'll have a good time.
