One question, could you please tell me the address that you had your box shipped to at the Port? Thank you!

I shipped the box down via UPS. You can go to thier website and it will tell you how long it will take to get there. I believe I mailed mine the week before the cruise on Thursday. I also did not pack anything in the box that I couldn't live without on the cruise. It had our pirate costumes, air fresheners, soft sided cooler (never used) and some other stuff.

The address is
IDS
9001 Marlin Street
Cape Canaveral, FL 32920

I also added the ship name, guest name, cabin number, and date of sail.
I wasn't sure if I needed to but I typed up a packing slip, put it in a baggie, and attached it to the side of the box.

We woke up Tuesday and the ship was just getting into St. Maartin. We found out later that a passenger had gotten sick  and had to be taken off the ship. We were docked by 8am. We had ordered room service the night before after finally finding the little tags you put on the door. Check the desk drawer people!!!

Heading into St Maartin

Heidi and I had no excursions planned. We did however have plans to meet up with a former co-worker who happened to be in St Maartin on her honeymoon the same time we were. Kathy did the Regatta excursion. She loved it. Check out her trip report for more details. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1341131 Arlene, Wendy and Betty went shopping.

Beautiful, no?

We got off the ship and headed off to find out where the resort our friend was at was located. There is a shopping/information/water taxi area at the end of the pier. The information person advised it was a ½ hour cab ride. We decided to call and make sure she was there before we tried getting a cab. The cell phone didn’t work so we tried the pay phone. After much confusion  (I’m dying to know how much they charged Heidi’s visa for that call) we got through to the resort and left a message at her room to try and call Heidi’s cell.

We paid $4.00 for an all day water taxi pass. It’s a short ride from the pier across the bay to the other side. We wandered around for a while stopping at a beach front bar for a couple of refreshments.

Wish we were there right now

There are a lot of solicitors on St Maartin and it can be annoying. :rolleyes2 You try to be polite but some of them just don’t get the hint. A firm “We’re not interested” worked pretty well. After an hour or so we hadn’t heard anything yet so we decided to just take a cab over there and find her. When we went to the cab stand none of the cabbies would drive us to the resort. They didn’t want just a taxi ride that took us from point A to point B; they wanted to give us a tour. We finally gave up and decided just to go back to the boat. On our way there Heidi received a voice mail from our friend that she was at the resort. The only problem was it took an hour for the voice mail to get to Heidi’s cell. Oh well, we figured we would see her back in the old US of A. We went back to the ship.

Docked next to a Norwegain Cruiseliner. Much nicer.

Food and pool were the plans for the rest of the day.:goodvibes It was nice and quiet. While I was sitting soaking up the sun, I had a brainstorm  and walked into the spa and scheduled a decadent seaweed wrap and massage for Thursday. Why not? You only live once. When I got back to the pool I told Kathy and Heidi what I did and don’t you know it, they were in the spa making their own reservations. Heidi reserved seaweed wrap and Kathy reserved the cellulite electrolysis something something for Thursday morning too. You’ll have to read her report for the lowdown on that.

It was time to get ready for pirate night. I had made t-shirts up far all of us. We had bandanas and eye patches. Wendy had some fake tattoos, so we tattooed ourselves silly. There weren’t a lot of adults dressed but most of the kids were. Dinner was at Lumineers.

The wait staff had a little show and everyone did the limbo around the dining room.

We should have gone right up to the deck for the Pirate Party because when we finally got there it was pretty crowded. We went up to deck 10 and watched from there. I got good video of Mickey flying over the pool and of the fireworks. You can check it out at YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44I6vsQ8GzM Wendy left a couple of minutes early to get in line for a turkey leg. She told us the next day it wasn’t as good as the ones in the parks. I was still so full from dinner I couldn’t even think of eating another thing.

We made our way to our rooms. Heidi and I sat our on the verandah for a while. It was beautiful.

Next up……St Thomas

This morning we had Mickey wake us for the customs check. I took a quick shower and off we went. It was pretty fast, only 15-20 minutes total, then back to the room. We had ordered room service so we had coffee and muffins on the verandah and watched them pull into the port. We had no excursions planned, but we did want to do some shopping. :)

Beautiful

Arlene and Wendy decided just to stay on the boat and hit the pool for the day, so Heidi, Kathy, Betty and I set off for the port. They had cabs lined up to take people to the downtown so we hopped on one. While we were pulling out Kathy saw Arlene in line getting on another cab. When we got to the downtown area we waited a few minutes and Arlene showed up. She had decided to shop after all.

We headed down the shopping district. Jewelry stores galore. :woohoo:

Downtown St Thomas

Heidi and I had talked about getting ourselves gold chains in St Thomas when we were planning the cruise, so we set off to find a store. Betty, the jewelry aficionado, recommended Ballerina Jewelers. We passed a liquor store and Kathy and Arlene wanted to check out the prices. The gentleman told them they would deliver to cruise ships so they made a list of what they wanted but when they went to pay for it they were told they don’t deliver to the Disney Ship. Scratch that idea. :guilty:

We found Ballerina Jewelers and Heidi and I each bought a gold chain. We got a pretty good deal and I love my necklace. Kathy bought a gorgeous bracelet made of different colored sapphires. We also looked at wedding rings, but we weren’t sure what we exactly wanted so we decided to wait.

While in the store Arlene and Betty talked with one of the cab drivers who offered us an island tour. He would bring us to the top of the mountain and show us around the island a bit. After he would bring us right back to the ship. We decided to take him up on his offer. He said he would leave at 11:30 so we met him back at the van at 11:15 and waited a few minutes for him. He was still trying to find other people to ride with us. It was getting to be 11:45ish and we finally told him to either go or we were getting out. He wasn’t happy but he drove us to the mountaintop. It was very beautiful and the bar there has the best banana daiquiris. :thumbsup2 We walked around for a while taking pictures and having our daiquiris. After a while we got back in the van and headed down the mountain. There are some beautiful houses in St Thomas. There are also some really bad parts of town.

The boat while coming down the mountain

He dropped us back at the boat. We went to Topsiders for lunch and then got on our suits and headed for the pool. Wendy was there (she had been all day, boy was she tan). We hung out at the pool and I took a nap on one of the padded lounge chairs. It was a nice way to spend and afternoon.:cloud9:

Painters painting with Goofy

Dinner was at Animators Palate again. They don’t do the whole show the second time around. Dinner again was delicious.

We went to the comedy show after dinner. Whilde and Haynes I think their names were. They did juggling. They picked a kid out of the audience, is name was Josh and he was 8 or 9. He stole the show. :rotfl: The entertainers had to stop the show because they couldn’t compose themselves. They used him again on the last night.

Heidi, Kathy and I walked around Deck 4 and took pictures of the ship at night. It was so beautiful. We went back to the rooms and Heidi and I read on the verandah till we couldn’t keep our eyes open anymore. Another excellent day.:goodvibes

Thursday……Spa and Palos
