The one with the messed up dining reservation
Somehow, in all the canoodling and rearranging, I must have blown it somehow. I thought we had a 12:30 for 4, but we were nowhere in the system. The wonderful woman at the front tried 6 ways to Sunday to find our reservation, and finally went and talked to a supervisor. They were SO kind about it. They said they would work us in, no problem. Let me tell you, it was jumpin' busy. This was yesterday (Thursday). I told them we were flexible with time, just needed to be out of the park by 3 to catch our flight home.
I sent the family off to ride a ride while I waited there. Sure enough, not 15 minutes later they called our name. I LOVE the way the hostess comes outside and screams your name up and down the street to the left and to the right. Just like a mom yelling for her kids to come eat dinner. It was a hoot.
They seated me by myself and after about 10 minutes, our server--"Uncle Joey" tells me to call my daughter (she's 22) and he proceeds to read her the riot act for making her mama wait and she better get her behind to the dinner table asap, or he will be very upset. "Aunt Lorraine" caught wind of what was going on and said if they didn't get back right away, they would have to eat at the neighbors.
Once they got to the restaurant, the hilarity began. My daughter had to stand against the wall holding a sugar packet up to it, with her NOSE!
Aunt Lorraine asked them "do you think this is a restaurant or something?" and got our whole section involved.
After her "punishment" she had homework. She had to list 17 animated Disney moves with just one word in the title. On a napkin with a crayon. That was harder than she thought it would be!
I felt just awful holding up the show after they were so great with squeezing us in. Lunch was wonderful. They have a great special right now with fried chicken, pot roast and meatloaf. Great taster platter. That was a big hit. It was all very good. We had a fantastic time and laughed so hard we almost blew a gasket. What a hoot of a place. Do NOT get in trouble there. They love to do that up but good.
