We went to the After Hours event invited by DVC!! - A review

Where you staying on points during this date or just visiting the park?

I was staying at a value hotel on cash. Now, that makes sense. Only members who were staying there on points during that date got the emails. I just assumed every member got one.

We were staying here on points and never got the email and now reading articles that there was low attendance. Not too upset as we had to be up at 2:30 for the 10K the next day and don't think my body could have taken it. Plus, we got to see the Star Wars fireworks at Studios, so a great start to the Dark Side Weekend. Still, wondering if DVC members who were considering it will now wait to see if free tickets are offered instead of paying up front?

OP - thanks for sharing your experience. I'm sure you and your DD won't forget it! had to smile when reading you describe Peter Pan being a '1st' and the do-over on Alladin.

rather surprised to read so many posts spewing sour grapes on the boards as to DVC members getting something for nothing. If anything, we must be thought to be reliable. I hereby volunteer to be a seat-filler any old time WDW needs me lol.

I've been kvetching over just missing a few of the member events this year (still wish they'd announce them earlier so more have a chance to participate) but if it's all dependent on pixie dust, then glad to see it's still in ample supply

. When I go to concerts or sporting events, I know that there are people there that didn't pay for their tickets, but got them through sponsors, or corporate accounts. That doesn't affect my experience of the event or make me think the event is not a success.

we were staying on a cash reservation at the Carribbean Beach hotel -- in town for the Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon. When i signed up, it said I was successful, but I never received the confirmation email. I saved a screenshot of the page that said I should receive the confirmation email. I showed that to Guest services and they gave me a card to get in.

I'm in the same boat as you. We will not be able to take advantage of any of the announced parties as our big family trip will be on august when, as of now, there is nothing announced. If this event is offered then to DVC members for free again (or even a small fee), I will not even think about for a second to take it, as in summer we only do night park visits and my DH does not handle crowds well at all and was quite jealous that we got to experience an empty park when he wasn't there LOL!
