California Grill for the great cocktails, sushi/apps, and nice view. If you are too early for the fireworks you can come back later with your receipt. YC seems boring to me but I guess it's good if you want steak...
Who is in your party?
With children I would choose Ca Grille. IMHO it is overrun with young families and is very loud. The fireworks view appeals to many families.
For an adult party I would choose Yachtsman Steakhouse hands down. It is quieter, upscale and delicious.
Enjoy
We are trying Yachtsman for Father's day this year for the 1st time. We love a good steak!
The EPCOT area is fun to walk around and enjoy, it's beautiful at night. The BW is a fun place to hang out. You can really make a night out of dinner and exploring.
Cali Grill I love for the views, the food and service.
As PP has said it's an experience.
Took DS to eat there last July for his 21st. It is one of his favorite restaurants.
Service was phenominal, they had a birthday card embossed with a Golden Mickey on the table,
as well as Mickey confetti. I also had a specialty cake made and She brought it out at the right time it was super!
Always loved watching wishes from their balcony, as an alternate view instead of in the park.
Yachtsman is nice also, always good food and service....a much quieter restaurant.
I like the steak at Yachtsman, it's better then Le Cellier, IMHO
It is DH and myself. We have been to WDW many times, but not to either of these restaurants. Watching fireworks isn't a must, we are DVC members and can always to to Top of the World to see fireworks. We are trying to do some new restaurants this trip. Had some DVC points that were going to expire and couldn't let that happen so planned a short trip. Going to see LaNouba (never saw it) before it closes. We are going to try Paddlefish now that it's refurbished. Loved Fulton's. Hope it's as good! Thanks for the responses. My 180 day mark is May 30th so I'm starting to finalize plans.
To me, Cali Grill is something everyone should do at least once. Its my favorite restaurant on property and I never have had a problem with kids, but I always make my reservation for 9:15, watch fireworks, then get seated. By that time, most of the kids clear out and its very quiet and upscale. You may find it isn't for you, but I would say give it a shot.
Thanks all. I think we will be booking Cali Grill. Just need to finalize what night, probably our MK night since we are not doing MVMCP. Probably having a hip replacement. Not sure how much walking I will be up to. But I will be at my Happy Place!!

I've yet to try the Yachtsman (going there this year though!) but can't recommend California grill enough, I've been there around 4 times now and never had a bad experience. Also the fact that it has the best view is a bonus and that you can come back and see the fireworks from there no matter what time your reservation was for. The food is great, great steak and if you're in the mood for something lighter since everyone eats so much at Disney (how can you not?) the sushi is really good. Also, the bar men are great. When we went we didn't know what to order so the bar man took like 5 minutes to talk to me and my sister and get a feel for what sort of drink we would like. We both loved the drinks he made for us. It's a really great experience rather than just a great meal.
