We Walked How Many Steps Between the Festival and the Fiesta? New 8/4, Day 2 Complete

Glad to have finally posted an update today! I know it's been a few, ahem, months....since I last updated, but I really do want to stick with this report and finish it! Since work is in its last crazy month, I should finally have time to update more often. And I'm taking advantage of not working until late tonight to get together a few more updates while I catch up on old episodes of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Ahhhh, a relaxing Saturday! More updates on the way!!!

Day Two, Part Five!
Sunday, January 22nd

When we got to the Safari, we flew through the FP line and scored a front row seat! I let mom sit on the outside since she’s the shutterbug of this trip. And as all good TRs have, I present…Safari pictures!

We also saw and elephant shaking a tree between his tusks. We didn’t get a picture of it, but it was such a strange/random/cool thing to see. Since we were in the front seat of the truck, the driver put her hand over her mic and was like, “I have never seen that in five years of working on the Safari!” So that was pretty sweet.

After the Safari, we browsed the Africa shops and then made our way over to Asia but kept going until we got to Dinoland. A few pics in Asia along the way:

Once we got to Dinoland, we got in line for Triceretops, aka, the AK Dumbo. I never get to MK early enough to ride Dumbo and don’t want to wait an hour for it, so this was the next best thing. Plus, dinos are cool and the wait was only about 10-15 minutes.

We walked around the rest of Dinoland and took a few more pictures, and even saw some super cool Disney Dogs!!!!

Shop til I’m dizzy? Yes please! But, later in the trip, not right now Dinoland!

After Dinoland, we decided to start heading out of AK so we could hop over to MK for the night. But on the way out, we saw character landing (which is new since my last trip) with the Winnie the Pooh characters, so we decided to stop by. The CM at the entrance had a cool Flynn Ryder pin, but I wasn’t quite in love with it so I passed and we went down the path to see Winnie and friends!

No, this is not me about to smack Pooh in the nose, I was going for a high five because I told him I had just watched his movie and I had a Pooh pin on too. But the moment it was captured, I look like I'm gonna bop him on the nose, lol!

When we finished meeting Pooh, Eeyore, and Tigger, the CM that had been at the top of the path was now at the end of the platform, so I went ahead and traded for the Flynn pin (lol, Flynn pin…that rhymes!). She told me she knew I really wanted that pin. Oh CMs, you always know best!

And that concludes our day at the Animal Kindgom! But our night was not done yet, we headed out and caught a bus to the Grand Floridian and then hopped on a monorail to see a special castle!

Day Two, Part Six!
Sunday, January 22nd

Once we arrived at MK, we were on a mission. There was a rumbly in our tummies, so we headed to find food first. And we both knew we wanted to eat at Columbia Harbour House, so that was our first destination. Mom got the veggie chili and a side of broccoli, and I got the fried fish with broccoli. We chowed down and I’m happy to say this was a successful counter service meal! I love CHH and I tried the fish for the first time. It was so crispy and great. And the broccoli was perfectly cooked, so the meal was awesome! Here’s a pic of our tray of yum:

After our meal since we were right there, we walked on to the Haunted Mansion. We skipped the interactive queue since it was dark and it was a walk on anyway. Even though there was no line in front of or behind us, we still got stuck for like 10 minutes in the very last section with the bride up on the shelf where she says things like “Hurry baaaa-aaaack, hurry baaaaa-aaaack” and it did get a tiny bit annoying. But once we got off the ride it was all good. We looked in some shops and headed through Liberty Square so mom could get a snack at Sleepy Hollow. She got a funnel cake, and while she was waiting in line I grabbed a seat at one of the tables because the Magic, Memories, and You was going on. Even though I only saw it from the side, it was really cool! We ate the funnel cake and then walked through Fantasyland (at least, what was open of it…while we were there, so much of it was closed off) to Tomorrowland.

Since we were a bit tired after our long day, we didn’t have the camera out while riding the TTA. I only mention this because as was the theme of the night, we got stopped on it! But we actually were stopped inside of the Space Mountain part and that must have been down because all the lights came on inside of Space Mountain! So we saw the tracks and everything and it was super cool, but before we could get the camera out, we were moving again. But cool nonetheless!

After TTA, we took a spin on Buzz. Mom kicked my butt, she got like 39100 and I got 3700. I just don’t get Buzz. I’m not good at it. :confused3 I get frustrated because I’m not good at it, and I like TSMM much better because I can see what I’m aiming at. Little laser dots do nothing for me, so I knew I would lose but that’s okay, it was still fun. We stopped off after that to get me an ice cream (lol, I’m a sore loser and need to be coddled, :rotfl:) and mom bought some fruit to eat for breakfast the next morning. We headed out of the park as I savored my vanilla soft serve and on Main Street we saw a Custodial CM drawing Goofy with water. He was doing it in such a way that you thought it was going to be Mickey but then he turned it upside down and it was Goofy. So cool!

After our long day, we were ready to head back to Riverside. I wanted to check out the quiet pool outside our room but I was just too tired and sore to do so. According to mom’s pedometer, we walked over 9 miles that day, whew! When we got back to our room, this guy was waiting for us:

He was cute and stayed atop our TV for the rest of our stay at Riverside. We cleaned ourselves up and crashed for the night! We were going to be headed back to MK in the morning, so we needed our rest!
