We took 1400 pictures during our trip... How do I scrap them all??!!

Much like the color block idea already posted my girlfriend did a really cool 2 page layout of nighttime castle shots. Just saw this one Monday night.

She wallpapered the pages with a deep (lighter than Navy but not a lot) sort of mottled, maybe sponge painted would give you the idea. She then took the pictures of the castle in different colors and cropped them. A few had bits of fireworks in the background but not many.

She laid these out somewhat randomly, filling much of the two pages (about 10 or 12 shots in all - obviously not all were full 4 x 6 anymore) and then worked in some fireworks stickers she had as well as a couple of Cinderella/Fairy Godmother stickers. These last two strategically lapped onto corners of photos where cropping out for instance a large head that popped up in front of her would take out too much of the picture's focus.

Wish I had photo to post but 1) it isn't my layout and 2) I never have figured out how to post layouts!

Ignore the other photos they are from a book I did for a friend, blank spaces for her jounaling make the pages look empty. Anyway there should be 2 AK pic labeled color block, and two blizzard beach pages with squares on them. pg 2 of the BB is the one with 9 shots on it. My pages are simple but you could dress them up a bit. hope this helps.

I love them all!!! How come I can't do great pages like that?? Mine are so booooring. Thanks so much for letting me see. I hope you don't mind some "scraplifting" of your pages. They were all great. The BB photos cut out like splashes were inspired!Thank you so much for sharing.....................P

On a trip to Europe a few years ago, I took over 500 pictures. I knew I would never get them all scrapped if I did fancy layouts on every page. So I started by picking out the best ones, and doing them fancy. Then I mixed in simple pages. For the simple pages, I fit four or five pictures per 12x12 page, mounted them using various different fancy photo corners I found or made using punches, and limited myself to minimal journaling & maybe just a sticker or two, or a border design on the sides of the pages. My pictures still ended up filling two albums, but I got them done in less than a year, and they look great!

This method inspired me to switch to simpler scrap book pages in general from now on. I do a few flashy pages, a really dramatic title page, etc., and then do the others with less hoopla. I still do quite a bit of journaling though. This way I actually get my albums done in a reasonable amount of time to show friends and family the pictures from the trip!

Thanks so much, I am glad that you enjoyed looking...and scraplift all you want. My pages are simple compared to some of the ladies here on the board. Glad to share anytime.

Let me kwow how you do on all those pictures.

Cindy
