We Told Kids Our Little Surprise

We weren't going to tell them until they got home from school tomorrow . . .but we figured maybe 2 hours wasn't going to be enough notice for them to figure out what they wanted/needed to pack soooooooooooooo

I got out the video camera . . .put a copy of their airline tix in an envelope and we asked them if they thought they did well in school this year and if they were being promoted to 9th and 5th grade and then we told them to open their envelopes . . .

DD was SCREAMING she was so excited . .not the reaction I expected to get from her . . .I thought she would be upset that we were making her leave her friends and her boyfriend. She was very very happy!

DS on the other hand was excited, but once he realized we were actually going tomorrow he got upset . . .He is the one that needs to have a plan in his head and he is the one who needs notice to fly in order to prepare himself (he isn't fond of flying). But, he'll be ok . . .Poor kid . . .

He'll be fine once we are there . . .Not too much longer now

I can't wait to give the kids our surprise - we're going to the American Idol concert even though I told them that they were too young for concerts. They are going to be over the moon with that news - AI is all they still talk about. Only 3 more days 'til report cards.....
