Of late, I have noticed an interesting new trend on the restaurant boards ...

In the spirit of bandwagon jumpery and tongue-in-cheek fun pokery I would like to lay down the "rules" for this thread. Failure to abide by these rules will result in a visit from Jasper and his trusty paddle:

Da Rulz:

1) Taking these reviews too seriously ... that's a paddling.
2) Thinking that your opinion or comment isn't welcome here ... that's a paddling.
3) Not licking your monitor when a particularly tasty piece of food porn is posted ... that's a paddling.
4) Staring in slack-jawed amazement at my upper arm flab ... that's a paddling.
5) Paddling this food canoe without a healthy sense of humor ... oh, you'd better believe that's a paddling!

Well I'm glad we've all got that straight:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Eh....a point of note on rule #4, you girl have not seen upper arm flab anything the like of mine, so if I promise not to stare at your lack thereof you better promise not to stare at mine (if I'm ever brave enough to post a pic of myself in a TR)

YEA! Someone who's happy and takes food porn and this sight for what it should be FUN and HAPPIENESS! and CHEEEeeeeeeeeeSE! and BOOoooooooZE!
Though that guy with the paddle looks like he could be a lot of fun I will follow your rules!

You are too funny!:lmao: Like I said before, I'm no food pro-fessor, but I like you have arm flab. Therefore, I eat! :) I'm very much looking forward to reading more and learning more from this report.

Duly noted.

That's why I like your food reviews. You are not afraid to criticize, but you keep it funny. I'm so glad you will be reviewing another food and wine festival.

Thank you - I do try to keep it light for the most part. It is vacation after all ... and I have a fundamental problem with staying serious for too long. It's a flaw in my genetic make-up.

I'll do my best not to disappoint with this next batch of reviews, and please keep your fingers crossed that the feel bad bugs stay far far away from us on this trip. :goodvibes

Ugh, the TR. I lost my hard drive on my laptop and the new one doesn't have a program for 'word' or whatever it is on Mac. Nor does it have iPhoto.:headache:

I had a lot of notes and 'stories' typed out and saved on my old hard drive....there's no way I can remember what happened enough to do a TR without all those notes. I had all of our food on there....:headache:

Go ahead and choose a drink for me. I'm not picky about alcohol. ;)

Oh Briarmom ... so sorry to hear that. Your TR was so so good and it was obvious that you'd put a lot of time into it.

I'll try to pick a good drink for you!

:lmao:
Oh this is going to be fun!..... So glad I found this thread!

We are going Oct 23-Nov 2 and have some of the same dining plans you have so I am really looking forward to hearing your yummy trip reviews!

Sorry to hear you have been under the weather and hoping you will be much better before your trip!

If your feeling squirrely give the Grand Marnier Orange Slush in Epcot a go around for me (I cant wait to get one myself)....

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by ... glad you got a laugh out of our silliness. :goodvibes

Have yourself a good trip when you go and and thanks for the well wishes ... I hope I start feeling better soon, too. But if not, I'll still be sure to over-indulge once we make it to WDW and I'm sure that will help me feel better!

BTW, the orange slushie is terrific but so is that lemon citron one! So many choices!

OMG :lmao: I just about spit my pepsi all over my laptop :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
This is going to be a great review :worship:

Hi Deb! This may be a record ... a pre-review spew!! :lmao:

Bendy - You kill me......:lmao:

I aim to please ... glad you got a laugh out of it! :goodvibes

:lmao: I promise not to stare at anyone's arm flab ... former scout's honor! :flower3:

Hey Kabuki! You must be doing the single-digit dance with cheese right about now! :cool1: Jasper's bark is worse than his bite so I wouldn't worry too much. ;)

Hi there and welcome to the madness! Glad you're enjoying it so far even though I don't have any new food porn yet. Not long now! And I expect that my arm flab will be noticeably more flabby by the time we get home.

Duly noted.

As long as you noted with a laugh!

4 more days 4 more days..

We actually went and got a red-eye out of LAX so we can get in at 6:00am and have 10 more hours then we would with the normal flight... it's a sickness!

Thank goodness I see no mention of forbidding me the use of the word "Yummo" anywhere in those rules. Except of course, if it's now being included in that fine little print at the end. Kind of like my job description ending in "and whatever makes the department run more smoothly". :confused3

So before you change those rules.....YUMMO!!!!!:goodvibes

12 days to go! Are you guys all packed and ready? We leave in 8 days! I'm so ready to go! Maybe we'll be lucky enough to actually see you down there this year. Looking forward to your reviews!

How exciting for you! :cool1: I originally had the earliest flight possible booked and then those wankers at AA changed our flight time ... it's going to be early afternoon by the time we're settled in and ready to feed.

I wonder if I can sue AA ... ?

"You stole three hours of our lives and we want them back!" :rotfl2:

Hi NancyFancyPants! I thought you might like that post. ;) While I'm not fond of Rachel Ray, I have also been guilty of using the word yummo. I'd never forbid it someone else when I've used it myself ... I'm not that big of a hypocrite.

Thanks for sticking with me!

We're not even close to being packed ... we won't do that until next Tuesday night. But we are both mentally ready to go. And I did get a lot of our paperwork and gift card information organized so that it's all in the same place.

Please be sure to stop and say hello if you see us - I'd love to meet you in the "real" world! :goodvibes

Well.. we are flying Delta from LA.. two years ago we flew AA from SD to LA to Orlando and got a call at 10:30 PM (yes PM) the night before our 6am flight had been cancelled and we would go through Dallas two hours later getting us in 4 hours later.:scared1: Never mind we were meeting friends in LAX to go.
so..... we dislike AA STRONGLY! Don't mess with my ADR's!!!:sad2:
and a short story long to your ??? of can I sue AA..... NO... Jason works in a field that answers that question and he says no... (BUT I THINK YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO - It's emotional suffering or something?!):rotfl2:

"ready to feed" :rotfl2:

I used to think NWA was the worst, but AA has taken their place. When we flew back from japan last time they ran out of red wine almost immediately! The nerve. I thought people were going to riot. And, they even charge for adult beverages on their international flights. We flew AA again for our trip to WDW and every single flight had some sort of issue. They are pathetic.

Erm, uh .... you are not doing anything to inspire me with confidence in my air carrier right now. :rotfl2:

And feeding is exactly what we will be doing ... picture us grazing like cattle, gobbling like hogs, scrabbling like chickens ... it's all true.

Erm, I'm sure your flights will be great! Our worries were mostly because we had connecting flights. You are probably flying direct and everything will be fine.

Bendy...

Just bring little bottles of wine...

3 oz or under...

in a zip lock bag...

You'll be fine on ANY flight...

Oh..

And bring cookies...

Planky likes cookies... :thumbsup2

I think you should go ahead and sue them. You can set the precident for the rest of us in any type of similar situation, and goodness knows we're time goes missing everyday! :rotfl:

Well, I suppose that's one way to look at it. Honestly, I've been so amused lately by reviews stating that people who don't like certain foods shouldn't read, or people who have different opinions shouldn't post, blah blah blah, that I just thought it would be a hoot to poke some fun with one of our favorite Simpsons characters.

I enjoy the give and take of conversation and opinion on these threads and I welcome and encourage it as much as I can (and as much as the mods will let me before they get disgusted with the thread length).

So all are welcome ... I'm a first amendment kind of gal. :thumbsup2

I so hear you on that. I can't help giggling when people post the whole don't bother responding if you don't agree with me bits. Because most message board posters respond to that kind of statement in the manner requested. :rolleyes1

We flew AA again for our trip to WDW and every single flight had some sort of issue. They are pathetic.

What is totally awful about it too is that we have a bagillion frequent flyer points with them and their flights are perpetually blocked out now except for stand-by. Their service sucks when I have a confirmed ressie. Do they really think I'm stupid enough to subject myself to stand-by stupidity?

My brother just "won" two tickets on American to anywhere they fly in the lower 48...it took him 3 days and several date changes to get those tickets to Orlando... I could walk faster to MCO than it will take for him to get there on the flights they had open...

BUT...

It IS my nephews first time at Disney so... :goodvibes

omg!:rotfl2: i think i should dump the family trip and join you! i have a DH and DS that HATE to eat :confused3 needless to say they don't have arm flab flying everytime they lift a fork to their mouths - but i doooooo  so i shall live vicariously through you as this would be more my kind of disney adventure

i'm here for the duration! wait i need to grab the popcorn! popcorn::
