We seem to be missing a lot of WISHers--shall we put out an APB?

Oh Katholyn! You forgot me!!! :(

Now how could you possibly forget someone as hopelessly bothersome as me??? ;)

I try to offer as much encouragement as I can, but I really am only familiar with WW, and I don't want to give bad advice and steer somebody wrong on another plan!!

Although as of late, I haven't been around as much as I should. I switched from cable modem back to dial-up, and man, dial-up bites!!!! :)

ACK, Dan? You gave up a cable modem? Oh my goodness gracious, I don't think I could ever do that.

I knew I was going to miss some people. I tried very hard to include everyone but there were so many names and they weren't all in the same place.

Mea culpa, Dan. Will you forgive me?

You too, Becka? I forgot Becka too. It's not that I really forgot anyone, I just sort of missed them.

Do I get a demerit?

What a list! That sure took some time, Katholyn. You're a sweetie to keep tabs on everyone! :)

Oh -- for my program I'm doing WW. It's the only thing I've tried that I've had any consistent luck with. :)

I'm Here...I'm Here....just been busy:D
Anyhoo, I changed from eating sensibly to Atkins. Yes, I'm trying it again....Actually I am pleased so far because I am down 4 pounds. I went into ketosis, but the next day I wasn't, but I'm not gaining and that's the important thing. I don't want to stall either tho.
For anyone doing Atkins, can I have thoses morning bars or Atkins muffins while doing the induction? I haven't seen anything specifically one way or another. Thanks!!!

I'm here too NativeTxn! I love reading the posts and encouragement everyone gives to each other. I really am trying to get motivated. Dh and I just yesterday made a pact with each other to not eat after 7 p.m., and to cut back on carbs. My eating plan is just to eat healthier and cuts some carbs. Going to drag out the tape measure today and get our measurements. Dh says his pants are shrinking around the waist. Not good news for his heart problems.:(

I's just teasin' Katholyn!! ;)

It's all good, and yes, I gave up cable modem. And like I said....it bites. But us musicians don't get decent pay until we become as big a celebrity as Celine Dion. :teeth: So until that day, every last penny helps to pay the REAL bills!!!

phorsenuf You aren't supposed to eat the low carbohydrate bars during induction. However, my husband did, it's the only way he would actually eat in the morning, he would grab one of those bars and eat it in the car driving to his office. It didn't slow his weight loss at all. Well maybe it did, he lost 13.5 pounds his first week, perhaps if he hadn't eaten the bars he would have lost more?

Do you have Dr. Atkins book? He lists out exactly what you are allowed to eat during induction. If you don't have the book send me a pm and I'll email you the rules for induction. I have them saved to Word :)

I think that I've got all the corrections done so far. Everyone, please check your name again and make sure I've got everything correct and haven't missed anyone else.

Kelsie I can't imagine you don't have time to post much. You only work two jobs and have a family to take care of  (I hope you know I'm teasing you).

Hi all,

I have not checked in much lately - been feeling a little guilty I guess. I joined wish 5 weeks ago and am down only 6 pounds - I lost that in the 1st 2 weeks and have just been holding steady since.

I've just been counting calories - but not too closely lately! Thinking about switching to atkins - but don't know if I can give up the carbs!

Thanks for holding me responsible!

There you are Cats mom. It's good to see you here again.

First of all six pounds in 5 weeks gives you an average of more than a pound a week. That's good progress.

I follow the Atkins plan and it has worked very well for me. If you decide to start following Atkins I think you will be pleased with your results.

As far as suffering without carbohydrates, you might feel deprived the first 3 or 4 days but after that your appetite goes away. You just aren't hungry. I have to force myself to eat every day. That part of Atkins is a good thing for me, I've never "not" had an appetite.

Let us know what you decide to do. But hang around WISH, won't you? We'll help motivate you if you will help motivate us. It's a really good deal--honest :teeth:

Hey, Kath! I'm still here. I know I don't post much, but I DO lurk a lot! heehee ;)

I'm doing WW, Curves, and the WATP tapes.

Debbie

HI Katholyn,
Please add me to your roster - I've lost 37 lbs on WW total and I have about 4 to go to my WW goal.
Dana

Okay, I hope I have everyone's name on the list, now. Let me know if I missed anyone.

Dana, you are almost to goal? That is awesome news. See how much we miss when you don't visit regularly?

HI Katholyn! Do I have to be on a particular plan? I am a vegetarian and excerise (when I can get motivated) but no particular plan like WW or Atkins. I just try to eat less and exercise more. Can we come up with a name for it?! ;)

ok, ok, ok, you caught me! I do come and read the posts every day though! I just don't have alot of time to post. (I'm too busy planning for my Dec. trip!! ;) )

I am still on a low-fat diet, but I am not doing too well on the weekends. Especially this past weekend, my dh was off and I really didn't think much of what I ate all weekend! Now, I feel so guilty. I really need to get serious.

I'm hoping that once I am finished with my real estate classes in a month, things will get better. More time for cooking (on program!), and exercise.

Nativetxn, you are so great! I love to read your posts! I want you to know that you are a big inspiration to us here. Thanks for being YOU!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

don't forget me;)

i'm doing WW on my own with the support of the WISH board. I usually am here M-F off and on alot. I'm only down 1 lb at my last weigh in, but haven't weighed in for a week and a half or so. I don't think i'm much different, I hope for another pound gone forever! I don't have scales at home, I weigh in when I go to the Y.

Weekends are the hardest for me too!! That's my mini-goal for now - to stay on program throughout the weekend. I'm thinking of giving myself one cheat meal per week, to keep focused but still have something to look forward to, in a culinary way :p

I gave up chocolate for Lent as well - but the Sundays off are killing me!

I'm also trying to curb the glass of wine at night fix! i'm doing well with that, there is no wine in the house!

My goal is to get busy and do something 4 times a week. That's either walking, yoga, bike ride, jogging, or working out at the Y fitness center.

I think of that 5 lb clippie everyday:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Luckymommyx2 you are "eating sensibly" :)

disneyfan551 You are too kind. I come here to WISH because it helps me so much. I feel like I am with well loved family on this board. I can only hope to encourage everyone else one half as much as they encourage me.

ohmom I added you to the list. I think you are doing great, you are trying hard and you aren't giving up. That's the important thing.

Okay, now who else have I missed? Anyone? Ferris?

What an impressive list! I didn't know there were so many of us here! Thanks, Katholyn for taking the time to be such an inspiration to all of us! :sunny: It really does help to know that you and all the other WISHers are out there.

I do want to share one of my favorite exercise "motivators" with you. It's the picture of our table from Hoop-De-Doo at DIS-CON. The picture is on a table in my LR, right in front of the only space big enough for me to exercise in, so when I exercise at home, I'm looking right at you & Glo! It really does encourage me to see your faces while I exercise! :teeth:

Nancy, that has got to be one of the nicest things anyone has said to me in a long time. HDD was so much fun. I shudder when I think of all the carbohydrates I ate that night though ;)

Good for you working out and steadily losing that weight. Slow and steady wins the race, you know. Give that nice husband of yours a {{{HUG}}} from me.

It truly is wonderful that we have so many WISHers in our support group, isn't it?

I'm here, mainly been lurking for a while. I am having a lot of trouble getting back on track. I can't seem to stay motivated for more than a couple of days. My goal is to get on the treadmill before the children get up in the morning. I am having trouble resisting foods that I don't need, I am having cravings that I usually don't have and just can't say NO!

I am starting with my first goal of getting on the treadmill, eating breakfast and cutting portions tomorrow and see if I can handle that.

I couldn't believe the list and reading all the posts was encouraging. Good luck everyone.

How did it go this morning, JimmyTammy? Did you do what you planned?

Don't be such a lurker, it is really helpful to join in here on WISH, it's helpful for me, at any rate. I hope to see you here often.

Katholyn
