Some day I'm going to have to try those waffles. They have them in the frozen food aisle up here now, but... I can't bring myself to get them. At least not without trying the real deal first.

And then dropped in for a brief stay at The Hollywood Tower Hotel...

So... if you could stay a night there. They make a few rooms and you can book them.... would you?

Strangely, we survived.

Allie was super annoyed with me for making her wait
and letting everyone go by us,
but she got over it quickly

Ugh Kelly I didn't realize you were feeling so down and I'm so sorry That travel ban our states have is not only hurting travel in general (which you know hurts me!) but so many people I know! If I worked outside the house or Steve couldn't work from home we wouldn't be able to go. I honestly don't think NY will take Florida off the quarantine list for a LONG time just because of what Florida did to us.................politics............but CT and NJ have separate from NY on a few things so maybe yours will be lifted before ours. My fingers are crossed you guys can go next month.

Well I mean it's not too bad, I've done that on occasion for TOT when we didn't have a FP. So once in awhile it's worth it!

I totally understand, it really stinks. Andi and I have had to cancel 2 trips. I want to go the end of November, however, I just don't think that will happen either, ugh!!
No coaxing will get me on RnRc, no way. I don't think Andi would have waited the 45 minutes for me. I'm glad you got to ride SDD one more time.
I do love TSM, such a fine ride/game, I never get a high score, I really try!

Definitely try the real ones first. We have tried the frozen ones and we have a Mickey Waffle Maker…neither even come close to the ones you get while in WDW

Inversion and speed…it's a little much for me. When I have gone on, I keep my eyes closed and try to take deep breaths the whole ride just to make it through. Luckily it's a very short ride.

Thanks! It comes and goes. Before all this, planning our trips was my stress relief so it doesn't help that planning trips has become part of what's causing me stress.

I worked outside the house or Steve couldn't work from home we wouldn't be able to go.

That's awesome that you guys are able to do that. Ironically, Mike was working from home until recently so if I had had time off, we could have gone but now I think we missed our window.

Haha…I think the first time I went on, Nicholas was mad at me for making him meet Buzz and Woody so I told him I would go if he'd stop being mad!

Since this pandemic started I've had moments of ups,
where I'm super positive, trying to look at the bright side of things,
and downs where I'm just very, very blah and sick of everything to do with it.

Same! There are days when it doesn't bother me as much and days when I don't know how much longer I can keep going.

What I do know is that CT updates their travel ban list every Tuesday and September 29th is the last Tuesday before our trip so I guess that's decision day.

Finger crossed they drop the travel ban.

If we don't go, this will be our third trip this year that has been cancelled and I'm slightly salty about it. Especially since I think WDW is doing an amazing job with keeping people safe and I truly feel that I would be safer there than I am going into work every day, and yet I've been doing that since March.

This is so frustrating.

One thing I have been doing more of lately is online shopping
It definitely makes me feel better to receive these cute packages at my doorstep...

I'm a victim of retail therapy too. Love your purchases.

What I wouldn't give right now for those cheesy hash browns

It's the one ride in all of WDW that I really don't enjoy.

Me either. I've done it a few times but now pass. DH and the girls love it.

At the time, there was a trick about what times they actually dropped
more SDD FPs into the system and it was right around that time
when we were in line for TSM
so I made Allie kind of pull over to the side to try to get a SDD FP
at the exact time they were supposed to drop.
Of course, all those secret tricks aren't worth anything currently,
but it didn't work for us then either

It hasn't ever worked for me either.

October Trip Update: Well, CT changed the travel advisory so now I believe we can get tested 72 hours before returning home. I'm waiting to see if my work updates their advisory based on this. So at this point, I still don't know if we're going. Let's just move on, shall we??

When in WDW, I have to get my FGT sandwich
since it's not something we ever see here in CT.
The two places I know of that has them are The Plaza in the MK and Rosie's in DHS…though I don't know if either place currently has them or if Rosie's is even open

Allie and I headed out of TSL, but took some pics on the way out..

Allie's favorite animal has always been piggies
and Ham looked so cute with his Santa Cap

I honestly think I might prefer this one over The Plaza's.
I love the sauce and the arugula they add, and the roll is just perfect

People complain about the lack of food options in DHS,
but this is my third favorite QS option,
after Pecos Bill's and Les Halles, of course

For dessert, we walked a couple steps over to another favorite, Hollywood Scoops




We sat out back on the wall and enjoyed our ice cream
and the atmosphere before having to head back to our resort to catch DME.

DECEMBER 7, 2019
GOOD-BYE, FLORIDA


I love these retro decorations at DHS...






We headed out around 2:30 and waited for the bus back to ASM...


Once back at ASM, we collected our bags and sat out front to wait.
We had a little time to kill, so Allie recreated this from our 2010 trip


And clearly we were sad to be leaving...

but not as sad as we would have been had we known this was to be our last trip until…???

Oh, how I miss those Florida skies the most

Our flight was on time and we had a lovely, uneventful trip back to CT.


It's been so bittersweet reliving these memories with you all.
Allie and I had an amazing trip…dare I say, it was one of our favorite trips ever.
It was so easy being there with just her and I…
not that I don't love traveling with the rest of the fam,
but it's definitely more work when I do.
Allie knows as much as I do about the parks and loves helping with the planning
so it doesn't all fall to me, which is relaxing in a way.

We also loved, loved, loved MVMCP and Tony's Party ,
plus all the other Christmassy things we did.
I would love to make early December a yearly tradition,
and I plan to start next year, praying everything goes back to normal by then.
We are planning on going the first full week in December 2021,
either the 4th-11th, or 5th-12th…something like that.
My birthday falls on the 9th
and I would love to start making this my yearly birthday tradition.

I always hear a lot about DHS not having a lot to offer in terms of QS, but I think next to DAK it has some of the best. Ronto Roasters, Woody's Lunchbox and Docking Bay 7 definitely rank up with Flame Tree BBQ and Satul'i Canteen for me. I also love Hollywood Scoops and Backlot Express is so nice and tucked away. I think people just love to harp on Studios for anything bad when there has always been a lot of good.

Ugh, I love Studios's retro Christmas decor. I firmly believe it is the best of the four parks, easy. Echo Lake in particular is so aesthetically pleasing to me.

Sad to see a trip end, but glad to hear you'll most likely be back in December. I know I'm coaxing my mom for a trip, granted that will probably be just Universal, but I wouldn't mind also maybe stopping over so we'll see. Still so much uncertainty. Hope you continue to stay safe and healthy!
