My family and I went to DHS on Friday for the first day of SW weekends. When we booked out trip, we decided to stay an extra day so we could attend SW weekends. My DS, 8, has sat through countless princess breakfasts and autograph lines for his sister. He loves Star Wars so we decided to do this for him. When we got there I ran to get FP for toy story and my DH, DS, and DD went to sign up for the kids events. From there, I went to stand in the line to get some of the limited edition pins. They went to see Darth Vadar. After about an hour, they had seen Darth, but I was still very far back in the line for the store. I told them to go ride The Great Movie Ride. I called them about 30 minutes later and DH said that the Dream Squad met them getting off the ride and they were headed up to Guest Relations because my son had won something.

About 45 minutes later I learned that we were the Star Wars VIP family of the day. 2 members of the dream squad (Thanks Kelly and Holly!), went with us on a few rides, then took us to the celebrity interview show and later to the Clone Wars preview show. We had VIP seats right up front. We also each received a Star Wars weekend backpack with a hat, mug, poster and a couple of star wars stuffed characters in them. Between the 2 shows, we had a private meet and greet with 2 of the celebrities that were in attendance. It was Daniel Logan's birthday, and he even shared his cake with us while we were there for autographs. He and Jeremy Bulloch were both super nice and it was such a phenomenal experience. My son will never forget meeting them.

After the 2nd show, the dream squad sent us on our way until dinner time when we met them again and they bought us dinner at Hollywood and Vine. It was such an awesome prize to win. The best part was that it was my son who had been in the lucky seat and he was the one we were going to star wars weekends for.

Just thought I would let you know about the newest dream out there! It's a good one.

Awesome prize! So glad it went to someone who was a fan! Now that truly is a Star Wars weekend! If you have any pictures we'd love to see them.

I am so happy for your SOn and of course your family. He will always rememer that time. Years ago I cannot remeber the celebration, my son went through the turnstile at MK and sirens went off bells etc. He was a certain number visitor that day and won a visor hat with lights and a few other items. This was when he was around 8 he is 25 now and he still remembers that time.

That is so awesome for your whole family. And kudos to you for standing in line for hours for those pins!

Sounds like the force is strong with that one!

Thanks for sharing your experience.

How TOTALLY AWESOME for your family!!!!! I'm SO happy for you!!! Karma I tell 'ya. He waited all those years for his sisters and now this was HIS big day. That is a GREAT story he can tell his grandkids some day!

I haven't gotten any of the pictures off of my camera yet. Unfortunately, I don't have any of the actual "win" because I had the camera with me in the line at the store! I do have pictures with the celebrities and some of the kids with the dream squad members. I'll post those when I finally get them downloaded. I also didn't have my "good" camera with me. Since this was our 4th Disney trip, I decided to just bring my small camera so I didn't have to lug around the bigger Canon. I was so bummed not to be able to take really good pictures.

I met Jeremy Bulloch this week too! He had a few questions about the resort I work at and I checked him out :) So nice!

Congrats - happy to hear you had a great experience, especially for your son. We left WDW on Fri. June 6 when SW weekend started - were at OKW until 4:30, and asked my DS16 many times if he wanted to go, but he thought it would be too crowded to get much done in the short time we had. Sounds like it would have been fun to check it out - be sure to post your pics if you can.:goodvibes

What a cool prize!!! I'll bet your son will be talking about this one for months to come!

Wow! That is so awesome! Apparently the force was with you! :thumbsup2

Here is a picture of my son with Daniel Logan. They are clowning around with a stuffed Mufasa!
