We have been to Disney World many times but are planning to go during MARDIS GRAS 2006 anyone know how the crowds are during this time...We are from Louisiana and have an extended vacation that week. Mardis Gras fall on the week of FEB25- March 4 2006.

We're planning to arrive March 4! Never been at that time, but I heard the crowds aren't too heavy after President's Day until Spring Break. The guide book I looked at said that your time frame is light crowd to moderately busy - but that's a four compared to a ten that you get over Christmas and Fourth of July.
A friend of mine went the beginning of March this year. She said the crowds weren't, they used FastPass a few times and they got to go on all the rides they wanted.

We went during mardi Gras by accident. That alone should not be too bad with crowds, but check www.varsity.com to see if the Cheerleaders or Dancers will be there. We went last Feb and we could tell quite a bit of Louisana was there, but more so were the 10,000 Dancers from UDA! It was busier than summer.

Hi I am from the New Orleans area and we will also be there in February for Mardi Gras. We go every couple of years at that time. As long as Presidents Week does not fall at the same time (which is does not next year) it is usually a nice crowd. You will see so many people you know there. It seems 1/2 of Louisiana goes at that time. Have fun!!

I also live in New Orleans area. We just moved here last summer from Florida. I was AMAZED this past Mardi Gras how many people went to Disney from here. I just didn't get how big the whole Mardi Gras thing is! But here it is a whole week of celebration and lots of the schools get the whole week off. That being said, even though lots of Louisiana folks will be there I think the crowds in general should be good because the rest of the world is NOT on vacation that week.
