Hello- I just registered with this site due to being referred here by someone on e-bay and it looks wonderful!!!!!! My son and I have plans on meeting a friend at Disneyworld in November and was wondering if someone had advice on buying the park hopper passes- that is all we need, got flight, hotel, etc. We are trying to do this on a shoestring budget ( don't we all) and any advice, links, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and this is a neat site- I put it in my favorites where Disney belongs,LOL. Karen

Hi and WELCOME mepoozer!!! Glad to have you aboard! :)

If you do not have the Disney Club, you will want to check prices on your 4 day Hoppers at The Disney Store, (if you have one near you), at www.ticketmania.com , www.floridaorlandotickets.com , www.paramountinternationaltravel.com , www.centralfloridatravel.com . And there may be others. These are all authorized ticket brokers for Walt Disney World. Also check your local AAA if you are a member. They may have 4 day hoppers available.

Unless you register for www.connections123.com - a membership discount site, the above site will lead you to the cheapest hoppers that you can find.

Good Luck! And again - WELCOME! :)

I amay be confused here- I thought when I registyered here I was a member of Disney Club-- maybe I need to figure out how to do that? I'm TOTALLY new to this but want this vacation to work... Thank You, Karen Thanks for the response and help!!!!!

I do appreciate the links- have been to one of them but will check out the others-Thank You, Karen

Welcome to the DIS. :)

The Disney Club is offically run by the Disney Company, but as of the first of this year, it has been enrollment discontinued, witht he club officaly ended at the end of this year for the registered members....

Before you leave read as much as you can on these boards, even though they are not offical, 90% of the advise here is very very good. :D

if you have any more questions at all please post them and i'm sure someone will have the anwser for u :D

Hi again Karen!

What you registered for last night was the ability to post on the message boards here on the DIS - an unofficial Disney information site. There are no monetary benefits or savings for registering here, but you do have the ability to gain many friends. :) Be sure to visit ALL of our boards. There is a WEALTH of information out there for you. :)

jimmybop explained the Disney Club well. Now I have heard that you can get pro-rated memberships to last these final months, but since all you need are you hopper passes, then there really is no need. You can get similar savings at the places that I mentioned above.

Be sure to continue to ask questions and we will be here to help!

Good Luck! :)

Well Beth, that's really in the eye of the beholder, isn't it? ;)

I'd almost guarantee someone who has never been here before will find out ways to save lots of money before very long. :smooth: :D :smooth: :D

mepoozer,

First off, welcome! You haven't joined the Disney Club, you've joined a far more exclusive club: Pete's Expert Information Exchange! I'd been going to Disney for years and thought I was Joe-Knowitall. In just two years being registered here, I've learned to travel cheaper and smarter. And occasionally, I find a little tidbit on things like alternative tickets I'd never have found before. Let's see if I can do that for you...

Your original post said you were looking for 2 to 4 day hoppers. I don't know when you're traveling, but if it's in the June time-frame, but if you are, I may have something for you....

Early June, Gay Day is being held. There's many posts on the theme parks board to deal with what that is and what various people think of it, but for our purpose, let's just say it's there. And they have some short hoppers for sale. Normally, you can't buy a 2 day hopper, and you have to hunt a little to find a three. But on their site, they have 2 and 3 day hoppers. You don't have to be affiliated with any group, no one will come to your hotel and make sure you're Gay or anything like that. The tickets are just for sale and due to the buying power of this large group and the concentration of their stay, Disney's letting them sell these tickets.

There is a catch, but I cant' tell you what it is because the ticket site is down today! I just checked it. I'm sure as soon as they figure out it's down, their computer guys will get it running. The catch, was the tickets had to be used between now and June 30th, I think. And I'm sure that after you use the first day, you have to use the rest within ten days, unlike a normal hopper pass where it's good forever. But beyond that, if I remember correctly, they were pretty attractive prices, and had some Pleasure Island bonus nights or something.

I just called their support line, and they say there's a scripting error that should be fixed by tomorrow. Here's the link:

Good luck, and have a great vacation!

I just saw this after posting. Oh, Beth, you guys are so modest! I'm with GoldenOldie. Little old me, a twenty year Disney veteran, used to brag to friends I could get them in and out of Disney faster and better than anyone on earth. June will be my sixth trip since I discovered Disboards in 2001. And I will say with humility I knew NOTHING when I got here.

I am now getting hotels cheaper, traveling cheaper, eating cheaper, and more important, learning when and where to go so those dollars that are spent are maximized. Can't say I ever used those phrases when describing my stay in the Disney Club!

Not to turn this into a bum-kissing session, but if this board doesn't save you major bucks, you're not paying attention! My humble thanks to those who've now made me a real expert!

Pat

Thank YOU Pat, but we have every REASON to be modest. Because this board, and this entire site, is fueled by the great information that ALL of the great posters share. Because of information that I got from other great Budgeteers I am going to Disney this summer when we never even THOUGHT that we would be there anytime soon. If it were not for hearing about the Courtyard by Marriot $20.03 rate, we would probably still be pouring over information about rentals at Ocean City. :) Someone reminded me about asking for the AAA rate for the datest that I could not get the $20.03. I am going to get the best rates on admissions due to what I have learned here - from ALL OF YOU! :) And it is ALL OF YOU that deserve the Kudos!

Now Karen - about that Countdown Counter. Here is the link to the Tech Board - http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=43 .
At that top of the board you will find a thread about putting a counter in your signature. Good Luck! :)
