Congratulations on your possible new addition Sam!:thumbsup2
There are so many unwanted fur kids that need lots of loving homes and I'm so happy you are considering this little guy!:grouphug:

We adpoted from our local SPCA and couldn't imagine life without our Tabitha :)

How about Bagheera? As in Bagheera from The Jungle Book!

He is gorgous!! We just adopted two cats from Heavenly Creatures. We had a black Lab named Morgan for 9 years (3 yrs old when we got her). We had her put down Dec 27/08 as she couldn't get up and down the stairs, could barely get up when she was lying down....I lay on the couch and cried for 2 full days, couldn't even go to work, I went back on the 30th for my night shift which started at 10pm.....10:23 my husband called (we were rocking busy) the cat that I had rescued from work parking lot back in Oct just got ran over right in from of him....by the time I sped home hubby had been to the vet...vet put Cato (named after character on Get Smart-Smart's houseboy Kato would jump out at Smart from the closet..ceiling etc, and that is what our little Cato was like....scare the bejeezus out of you) down immediately. Needless to say crappy Christmas season for us. Hubby is not a cat person at all, so when I adopted 2 he didn't say much because he knew how much the kids and I adore animals (would love a dog but cannot make that commitment).

Anyway sorry so long, good luck on your adoption!! Cannot think of a name right now, I'm not good at that.

CONGRATS Sam and family, and that cat is ADORABLE!!! boy or girl? we like Leo (lion) for a boy or Duchess or Marie (Aristocats) for a girl? Both our cats are from the shelter & they're the best.

Well, we have not been approved for the adoption yet. He is a little boy and he is 4 1/2 months old. We really hope he is the one for us.:lovestruc

He is so cute. The first thing that popped into my head was Smokey but I am sure you can do better than that!!:rotfl:We love our two dogs - schnauzers - but we had difficulty picking names. I find if kind of hard naming a grey dog (or cat). Enjoy him!

I saw him and thought Smokey - and then as I scrolled down, I saw another vote for Smokey! LOL :rotfl:

We adopted Boo Boo and then Yogi from the SPCA in Nova Scotia. Lets see if I can post a pic of them...... (I've never done it)

OK FUNNY STORY - I WROTE BOO BOO Without a space and it wouldn't let me because it thought I was trying to type Bo ob

Hi PhotoBear,

What a sweet little face! I hope everything goes well with his adoption.

I've always thought your username was kind of interesting....so how about Cub or Cubby for your little guy?

Let us know how things go with his adoption!

Thank you all for the help...We just got the call that we were approved so we are going to see if he is still there. Then we have to take him to the vet to get him tested for Feline HIV and if he tests negative, we can bring him home...Wish us luck.

P.S. DH has finally agreed to a form of Jack...it's Jaxxon (obscure Star Wars Character) and we will call him JAX for short. His name at the shelter is Blue and we think that Jaxxon Blue sounds nice. What do you think?

As for my screen name...it was first used on the TY beanie site and I collected only the bears so Photo (cause I love photography) Bear (cause I collected only bears) and Sam (short for Samantha) made up PhotobearSam...I don't really like it but have grown used to it.

Thats a great name!!! Our Yogi was named Doc (because they found him behind a doctors office. We changed it to Porkchop and then to Yogi (once we thought that Yogi and Boo Boo would be cute together)

Porkchop was because he had porkchop like markings on his side, but now they look more like hearts.

Jax is HOME and HIV negative...YEAH!!!

We just got back from the vet. He's healthy and does not have the Feline aids virus...He is HOME to stay.

Our kitties are Peach (big fluffyrollie pollie boy kitty) and Joyce...started out as Joy....which she was far from....the grouchiest baby kitty ever.....so Joyce seemed more appropriate....kinda stuck up and proper....she's 13 now and has mellowed....name still fits though....no offence to the Joyces out there!:thumbsup2

Congrats on the newest member of your family! When I saw the title of your thread I got all excited because we have an adopted daughter. Then I read your post! :rotfl:
My sister used to have a kitty IDENTICAL to Jax.
Our poor cat's name is Zoey - he's a boy. We adopted him from another family and that's what they had called him. We decided not to confuse him by changing it. Kind of like a boy named Sue ... :rotfl:
