We loved the Fort, so we gotta go back, but in FEB?!?!?

We were in Fort Wilderness for 8 nights, March 9th through the 17th this year. We absolutely loved it. Could not have been a nicer vacation, including the weather. But, the crowds We are hoping the that February, after Presidents weekend, will be less crowded but what about the weather? Will it still be as nice?

I stay there in late jan to early feb.....

average high 71 degrees...but ya gotta remember these are avg.......


most days in the mid 60s and a rare 78-80 to get that average up....

I was at the Fort this past President's Day weekend. The parks were crowded, but I have seen much worse (Thanksgiving Week!)

Anyway, here is a photo I took that will tell you a little something about the weather:

Despite this warning, it did not freeze that night.

We have camped for a weekend in Feb. for the last several years. Some years, it was warm enough to swim during the day, other years, it was pretty cold. Overall, it is usually pretty nice! Go for it!

Yea, February is normally not a very packed month at Disney, although it's busier than January. I wouldn't worry too much, you'll have a blast, and you'll probably have some nice cool weather as well!

so, if we experienced 75 to 85 degree days on March 9th to 17th, could we maybe expect 70 to 75 degree days Feb 22nd to March 1st?

Will it really be any less crowded? I'm willing to sacrifice a few degrees if it will be noticably less crowded. (I think our dates this year wear an 8 and 9 on a scale on 1 to 10 according to Tour Guide Mike) Will they be closer to 6 to 7?

You never know what to expect weather wise, this is Florida after all Chances are you'll have some cool weather, and 70-75 degree days is not out of the question. We went Feb 23rd through the 25th, and it was cool during the day (upper 60's), and got down into the 50's at night.

As for crowds, you'll be coming at the end of Presidents week, so expect some crowds the first couple days you get there. However, that next week that you're in Disney, you are going to find very little in crowds, at least by Disney standards. As I stated, we were there the 23rd thru the 25th of this past February, and the crowds weren't bad at all, I would definitely say a 7 (and at times a 6).

Where did you find the crowd ratings numbers ?? We are going to be there the week after Easter....I bet there will be big crowds then. Maybe 10's ??

You can find crowd rating numbers at by doing a google search (can't post the link here). Look up touring and plans, you should find it. Just click on the "crowd rating" link, if you're not a subscriber you can only see 2 months or so at a time, but the week after Easter should be in there somewhere.

We have gone to FW every Feb for the past 10 years. The parks will be busy from the 17th to the 24th ( All of presidents week). The last week in Feb and the first week in March are not to bad. It will get busy again the 2nd week in March. One advantage of the first part of Feb is rates are lower (before the 13th or 14th ) When you check in for value season the rates stays low for your legents of stay. We usally avoid going to parks Presidents week but this year we had annual pass. We would go the am and leave for afternoon when it got busy. You will notice FW will get busy on weekends and much quiter on weekdays.

If everything goes as planned we'll be there the 29FEB - 08MAR ... woohoo!! I decided I want to spend my 50th birthday at Disney .. and we'll take our "new to us" pop up... I'm too excited right now .. have to limit my Disney planning.. pace it... hahahaha
