We use Amtrak exclusively, we board in Alliance Ohio and that train takes us to Washington DC, from here with a short layover, we catch the north-south train south to Kissimmee. Kissimmee is closer to WDW, cab fare is 35.00-38.00 plus tip one way. We usually go reserved coach and for myself and wife, round trip, its usually in the neighborhood of 450.00 total plus the cab at the end. For us its approx. 27 hours but delays makes it alittle longer. If we book early, we get a roomette for the DC to Kissimmee leg, good prices are around 187.00 for both of us and that little roomette includes all your meals, coffee, juices and upper and lower berths to sleep. We've gone the whole way in coach we no problems, recling seats are comfortable, bring a blanket, they provide a small pillow but for privacy and a bunk, roomette is the ticket. We sometimes don't have a roomette when we book late and the price is sky high but we ask if any sleepers are available when we board in DC and they offer them on a first come basis discounted real cheap.
