We leave in 6 days..haven't received Magical Express tags...

I signed up for the service a LONG time ago. Today I was going over my papers and realized that it said that a booklet and tags should arrive about 21 days prior to leaving.

Well, we're leaving in 6 days and haven't received anything.

Also, what is the other choice of transportation other than ME - does Poly have its own transportation?

We arrive at 9pm, so it will be LATE arriving at Poly, then when we'd get our luggage through ME even later.

What would you suggest our best arrangements should be?

This is our very first trip to Disney and we'll be traveling with 3 small children (under 6).

We received our ME packet 4 days before we were to leave. If you call ME they can look up and see if your packet has been mailed yet, and to make sure you are in the system.

From what I've read on these boards, if you don't receive your packet, you can still use ME. You can give them a description of your bags and they will collect them or you can get them yourselves. Also, if you don't want your luggage delivered in the middle of the night, you can ask to have them hold it until morning.

The same thing happened to us last September. We were booked on ME and never received our tags. About a week before we left I phoned Disney to see what we should do and they said it wouldn't be a problem. I had read on these boards that some others in similar situations had made there own tags so that the Disney baggage handlers could easily identify their luggage so I did the same. I made an extra one to show the clerks at ME check-in when they took a description of our bags. I figured it wouldn't hurt even though they did look at me like I was a little over the top, but I didn't want anything to go wrong. As it turned out, every bag arrived at the resort within an hour of our arrival and ME was fantastic. Don't worry, Disney has it all under control!!!! Have a great trip!!!

Poly does not have seperate transportation-
ME provided by WDW is Free..your luggage will arrive several hours after you do. But you will not be lugging that luggage. If you go this route I would pack a carry on or two-(one for you and DH) that would have all your necessary items for the 1st evening and night.(eg. tolietries, PJ's,jackets for evening, poss a change of clothes or bathing suits, and medicines + what ever the kids "need")

Options:
Town Car: You can probably get one for about $120-130ish RT(plus tip)-They usually help you with the luggage, and you might even get a grocery stop, otherwise you go directly to check in. Very easy, relaxing etc.

Taxi: I believe it is about $40 each way(but don't know for sure)...I have never done this...I think you would have to be packing light.

Rent a car: Usually you can find a Fullsize car for $38 through Alamo for 1 day 9pm from Mco to 8pm at TTC. Couple extra minutes getting the car and dropping it off, but-you have your own transportation, and can make a stop at grocery on the way to WDW or go out early in the AM and get stuff or go to outlets etc. Benefit there is a car return at the TTC and you could take advantage of ME for your return trip.


Since I don't know you...if you can manage the preplanning with the luggage and carryons- it is not a problem(I have travled alone with 2 -5yos)this I call-the "we're saving the money for disney" plan. Choice #2 is the "I can't handle all the carry ons and my kids"...then I would rent the car one way and send DH to get it while you are waiting for the bags-with the kids. Choice #3 is "money is no object-and we could use the help, and it is vacation...we are going to relax"

So which one are you? I have done them all!!!

Wondering if you got your tags

I have heard lots of differing opinions as to when everyone gets their luggage tags. I guess you could call to check on them? We are leaving 3 weeks from today, and received our tags already! I got them this past Monday, so we got them way ahead of when we needed to. Maybe that is a good omen that our trip will go smoothly!!!
