and I have spent this year being so excited for this trip. Last week we buried my Aunt who passed unexpectedly! I just can't get into the Disney spirit. My kids are just over the moon and I really am trying to get excited! I feel like I am disappointing them since I can't get into the pre-trip excitement!

Awww that is sad. But I am sure your Aunt would want you to cheer up and enjoy the time at Disney with your children? It might be just what you need! Some good-honest fun! Explain to your children that your heart is just sad--but you can't wait to be with them and enjoy your time.:grouphug:

I'm sorry, too.

To help with your trip funk, I suggest watching the Disney Vacation Planning DVD with your kids (if you have one). I love reminiscing with my kids, and it keeps memories alive. :wizard:

Or, you could visit the disneyworld site :surfweb: and read up on the attractions, do a little itinerary planning or tweaking.

And finally - pack your bags! And know that families everywhere wish they could be leaving for the happiest place one earth even for one day! :lovestruc

Enjoy!

I'm really sorry for your loss. Right now your mourning and thats okay. I have a feeling whether or not your excited about going to Disney your kids will continue to be over the moon. Everybody mourns in their own way and for me I'd prefer to embrace it, rather then shove it deep within my subconcious and have to deal with it at unexpected times. Remember your aunt for who she was and think about all the good times she's had. Then move on and continue having good times of your own.

Thanks everyone. And you are right...my kids brought back my disney spirit! They are over the moon and it finally rubbed off. I've been to Disney 3 times and the first two times my aunt was with me. And she would be really angry if her death was affecting my trip! I had to remind myself of that! The last time she was at my house she was giving my kids money for their trip! So I had to no choice but to snap out of it. Thanks for listening!
