I cannot believe everything that has been happening in the past 5 weeks for us, DD7 shattered her elbow and had surgery, then my girls got the flu, then Sunday in the early a.m. I woke up with a fever and cough. Got up Sunday morning just feeling horribly light-headed. Went downstairs to get some cereal and while holding my bowl completely passed out onto my TILE floor right in front of my girls (DH was camping). Woke up to hear DD7 asking if I was ok.

So apparently (according to DD) I tried to get up and passed out again. Somehow I made it to the couch, where I bled on it because I had cut myself in a couple of places from the broken cereal bowl. Luckily my cousin lives 5 minutes away so she came over and took me to the ER. I had a huge bump on my head from hitting the tile. So they did an EKG, CAT Scan, blood work, etc. and everything seems to be fine. Woke up this morning with a pretty bruised up elbow (must have fallen on it), stiff neck and still a little feverish.

HOPING that in the next 4 days I feel better for the trip we have been looking forward to forever.... :sad1:

Oh my gosh!!!!! That's terrible!!! I hope you feel better soon. Maybe you can get Mickey to kiss the bump on your head for you.

I know the days before our trip can get hectic with all the last minute stuff to pack. I truly hope things calm down for you so you can enjoy your trip.

Ow!! ((((HUGS)))) What a horrible string of events for you and your family. I hope you feel better soon and have a wonderful trip. Your 7 year old DD sounds very mature, and she handled things very well.

Oh my goodness! What a week, hopefully your husband came home safe and sound. If you believe bad things come in 3 then you are done!! yay
Here is to the best and most deserved trip to Disneyland!

Oh, you poor, poor thing!!!! I hope you continue to get better! Isn't it just the way it goes that your dh was out of town?! Mine was out of town last weekend when the toilet overflowed and I didn't discover it until it had flooded the bathroom & hallway.

Take care of yourself! I think you deserve an extra treat at DL ;)

Oh my gosh! I am happy that you are okay. That sounds really scary! I hope you are taking it easy so your body doesn't do that again.

I don't know if you have ever done anything in theatre, but there is a belief that if you half a bad dress rehearsal, you will have an amazing opening night. I hope the same applies to your vacation. Think of it this way: You have gotten all the bad stuff out of the way and are all set for a fabulous trip! :wizard:

I hope you are doing well. Here to a great trip!

Yikes! Well hopefully that's the end of the bad stuff. Bad things come in 3s :scared1: Elbow, flu and knock on the head :scared1: here's hoping you all get better soon! :goodvibes

Oh no!!! I hope you're back to yourself really soon and I hope you're getting all the "issues" taken care of before the trip so you can have a truly magical time at DLR! :)

Bless your heart. I hope things are well on the mend by the time you leave. Nothing worse than starting out a Disney trip when you are not in tip top shape.

Thanks so much you guys for all of your nice replies! I have been resting today and feeling pretty good.

Now I am off to take DD7 to the surgeon to have her cast removed. They removed it last week and apparently it wasn't healed enough and put another cast on again. I am crossing my fingers everything is looking good today so she can start physical therapy.

Glad to hear you are feeling better! I hope everything turns out ok at your daughter's appt. today!:goodvibes

Sending you lots of good wishes (with Pixie dust thrown in) for a better, safer, & healthier pre-trip, trip and after-trip. Hope that made sense. Anyways, hope things get better and that you all have a fantasmic Disneyland trip. Have fun! :tinker: :earsboy:

Oh no! I'm so glad to hear you are on the mend. Rest when you can!! Will be sending lots of :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes your way. I'm sure once you arrive Mickey will make it all better!

:hug::)

I hope you are feeling well, and I hope everything went well with your DD's cast! (Or hopefully lack of cast by now? :) )

Thanks everyone! I am feeling SO much better this morning! No headache anymore and my bump only hurts when I touch it, so no more of that! My neck feels great (look out CA Screamin', here I come!).

DD got her cast off Monday. The doc said it's not as healed as he would like at this point, but since this was the worst break he has seen (not the words you want to hear) he wasn't surprised. She doesn't start therapy until after our trip and she can hardly move her arm right now. It just kind of hangs at an angle and looks awkward.:sad1: She can't rotate her arm at all, so when she went to piano lessons last night she couldn't even come close to turning her arm and getting her fingers on the keys. Poor thing, it makes me so sad. She will have to hold the lap bars on rides from underneath with that hand, if that makes sense.

I am trying to remain positive as I know the cast just came off. I am really hoping that she gets her full range of movement back, it's just so discouraging to see it the way it is now. :guilty: She broke her left elbow and of course she is left handed (we are a lefty family). She can write with her right hand though now. :goodvibes So now, my hope is that we can get through this trip without her arm bothering her.....

Sounds like things are looking up!! that's a good thing! :) I hope DD's arm is back to normal really soon.
