Just wondering if its worth the $9.99 per month and if we will enjoy it???

I love my XM radio! I have become a news junkie!! I seldom listen to music anymore - mostly Fox News, sometimes (a little) CNN, the comedy channels and the old time radio stations -- during Christmas I listened to all the old Bob Hope and Bing Crosby Christmas shows for the military guys overseas -- sometimes I have to drive around a while longer than I had planned to hear the end of one of the old time mystry shows!
It has channels of music that feature latin, jazz, country, new age, rock & roll, christian - it's your choice. There's something for everyone (a word of caution - some of the comedy shows are pretty raw, so you might be careful if you have kids in the vehicle with you! It sometimes makes me blush before I can get it turned to another channel!

It works in the middle of "freaking nowhere" when you can't get regular stations (i am talking places like between Rawlins and Casper Wyoming or Kemmerer Wyoming and Soda Springs Idaho) the seriously nowhere. That kind of nice when you are driving through those areas alone

Sparkly--XM Radio (and it's competitor Sirius Satellite Radio) are satellite radio subscription services. Kind of like DirecTV. There is a small antenna mounted on your vehicle, and there are several satellites orbitting the earth that beam prgramming to your car. There are even plug and play units, where you can take the reciever from your vehicle, plug it in to a compatible receiver in your house, and have the same service there!

Beauty, if you are a music (or news, or talk) junkie, I think it is well worth the money. I know a lot of our sales reps LOVE LOVE LOVE it, because they spend so much time in their cars, and it saves having to find radio stations in every area. If you are just bopping around town, and are pretty happy with your radio reception as is, you may want to skip it.

We decided to go ahead and activate it last night and then we drove around for the time it took to activate it and its AWESOME!!

80's, 90's and RADIO DISNEY!!!!!!!!! John-Cole liked the LA station and he loved Radio DIsney.....Hillary Duff was playing and he thought that was sooo cool.

I like that it has the Weather Channel too.....not the only thing that would make it better is if it had a CBS affiliate so that I could listen to my soaps:p

Living here in No. Fl...the radio is really limited...so DH wanted one for his car but it hasn't even made it to the car! I love using it in the house...you can get the unit and put it back and forth from your house to the car too...cool idea!

Holycow

Who loves classical music and there are NO classical music stations in No. Fl...

Sorry I just don't get it. I like to drive and I like my tunes and everyone knows I like electronics/gadgets, but no way I'm paying for radio - I'd rather take the time to burn my own CD's or MD's.

XM is the best thing ever! I'm so happy I upgraded -- OKC radio is, for the most part, absolutely awful.

My favorites are the Rhyme (classic hip hop, I think it's 65), XMU (college rock, but good college rock -- 43),Unsigned (unsigned bands from all over -- 52), ESPN Radio (of course! It's 140 and 141) and BBC World News (131).

Some of the comedy channels are pretty good, too. Laugh USA is pretty good when I have my nephew in the car -- it's all clean and appropriate for a 9 year old.

We have it and love it! You may be able to get a better deal if you pay for it for an entire year. We like the Broadway channel, 70's, 80's and the Jazz channels.

TSFan....I was like you until I moved from LA to No. Fl....where there isn't really much of a choice in radio....now at least there are many choices! Even if there is a nominal fee it is worth it!

Same old story.. this is 2003 not 1932

Theres more to XM radio than music... News, Nascar, and Comedy... thats the three reasons I love it

We have both XM and Sirius. My DH loved his XM while making sales calls. He listened to Fox News, comedy and the station that broadcasts biographies (A&E?). I have it in my car for those long trips we take and now it's in the house. We get zero reception on my lot. No TV, no cell phone, no radio. It's a twilight zone kinda thing. I listen to the Christian stations and news, the girls listen to Radio Disney. DH tried to get us to listen to his stations, but we vetoed him. Now that he's gone, the girls are listening to his stations, too.

ToyStory Fan, satellite radio is much more than music! That coupled with my personal twilight zone, gives me reason enough to use it!
