We Invite You to Relax as the Dining Room Proudly Presents a TR! *The End 12/24 Pg44*

Glad you got to finally visit the Grand Floridian. I enjoyed the GF Cafe when I ate there a few years back. Sounds like the food is still good.

The pin of the fish from Chicken Little is pretty cute. It look me a moment to remember what he was from. I guess Chicken Little didn't stick in my memory as much as some of the others.

OK - i'm a little late to join in but I prefer waiting for a few days reports to start reading a TR.

Thanks for sharing it with us, although i do seem to skip over the bits where I see the word bathroom as I know whats coming! I hope that calms down for you further into the trip, but hey, if its worth it in the end then i'm sure putting up with it for just one trip is worth it.

It sounds like you had great luck with teh rides throughout the whole trip! Ive never seen a trip report with so many rides on TSM before!

That French Onion Soup looks AMAZING! YUM! We are booked there for a lunch in March, I'm excited about it and your review makes me even more excited! I love how you arrived by boat too - I always forget about the ferries. So glad you had another successful meal and a very nice afternoon and evening, gotta love an empty MK!!! :yay:

I had a tough time reading about the Grand Flo, but I'm glad you enjoyed it. I think the cafe is a great place to eat, I had a wonderful breakfast there with mom.

I love that you had a boat to yourselves on Pirates! Isn't it fun?

And those slushy cokes are a slice of heaven! My DH loves them so much. :thumbsup2
It was a lovely meal, I was really happy we decided to eat there.

It's the second time we've had a boat to ourselves, it's such a neat feeling!

That french onion soup looks positively divine! I'm now trying to figure out where I can pick some up for dinner tonight. :rotfl:

It never fails with the rain does it? If you make plans to avoid it, it's a beautiful day?
I had some from Panera earlier in the week, not as good but still satisfying.

I think the rain really stayed away because we bought that $50 rain jacket for Marc the night before. :lmao:

I am bookmarking the Master Chef website too and will keep an eye on it also :magnify:

I totally had that yellow Walkman too!!! Great taste!! :thumbsup2

Mmmmm your soup looks delicious!!! Both of them! I have never had french onion soup as I do NOT care for onions :crazy2: but maybe if I just ate around them...or just all of the cheese!! Those fries looked yummy too!

:yay: to an uncrowded night at MK. I am happy that you almost got on Splash although that would NOT have been the ride for you if you had been stopped! You would never try it again :headache:

Oh and that is a great picture of the two of you outside the main entrance...love your shirt :goodvibes

Tracy
I loved my yellow walkman, I thought I was super cool.

I'm not a big fan of onions either but I love French Onion Soup, you should try it. It's very, very good!

I'm not a fan of the picture outside the front but I'm glad you like it. :lmao:

I have to say, both of those soups look delicious! And the fries too! I wish I had it all in front of me right now!
Marc said the Gouda soup was good but it was a little much, a smaller portion would have been better with something on the side he said.

oh th GF looks so beautiful! for my trip in december, i made sure to make some extra time for resort hopping and the GF is the one im looking foward to the most.

i love that you got a whole boat to yourselves on POTC.pirate:
GF is really worth a look, it's so beautiful!

 I love, love, love this! I will surely be looking for it when we get there!
I was so happpy to find it!

Where did you get Marc's shirt? My son would love that!!!!
We got it at Kohl's on sale for $3.99!

Uh-maze-ing! That is gorgeous!

You are so kicking butt! :lmao:
:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I am!

Yea for the Brown Derby!! The GF cafe looked great, too!

I LOVE, LOVE, Love your Fish pin! I've never seen one!

Great TR so far! Can't wait to hear more!!!
I had never seen a Fish pin either but he was so cute, I love Chicken Little so I had to have it.

I love your picture of the GF lobby where you can see the domes in the ceiling. Fantastic view! What a great time at MK! Love it when it's not too crowded :thumbsup2
GF was so peaceful and relaxing, I want to stay there someday for sure!

I had no idea they had French Onion soup at Panera. I usually just get the Fuji Apple salad when I go there, and don't even look at the menu. I might have to make a pitstop on the way home.

What a lovely evening! I love your pics from the ferry ride back to the MK.

I totally thought I'd feel out of place at the GF, too, but we stayed there in May, and now it's my favorite resort! A dangerous situation, that. :rolleyes1
It is a dangerous situation to feel at home at the GF, a very EXPENSIVE dangerous situation!

Beautiful GF pictures. What a nice dinner. I have never eaten at the Grand Floridian Cafe, but I certainly would like too. Both the GFC and Citricos are on my list!

How awesome to have so few people at the MK. I am totally convinced that the first week of September has got to be the absolute hands down best week to visit. You and Brooke saw NO crowds. Amazing!

I'm glad you conquered your Splash fear by the time I saw you! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I, too, fell in love with the Grand Floridian during my last visit. I am totally convinced I want to stay there, even if its just for a night. It will be the best 36 hours ever!
Shhhhhhh, MEK! You are giving stuff away. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I do love traveling in September because of the crowds but the heat this year doesn't make want to go back at that time anytime soon. :lmao:

I really enjoying poking around in the GF too! Such a lovely, lovely place to just relax! Your soup looks great; I think I'd have gone for Marc's- WOW!! anything with Gouda! Yum!

I got a fun picture of Chip as well- look for that in about 6 months on my TR. :lmao:

Incredible that the parks were SO empty during our visits! I loved doing walkons on just about everything too! :thumbsup2
His soup was really delicious. I loved it but the french onion won for me hands down.

I thought it was cute that they were in front of the tea room, a sweet touch.

What a great night! I love GFC!!!!!!! Oh how I wish you could work up the courage to do Splash some day....my favorite! I love it so much for the fun theming of the ride itself. I think that might be a near perfect day from start to finish in my book! :)
I really loved GFC. It was delicious and pretty affordable too so that is always a plus.

Splash is scary, I don't like that free falling feeling.
Beautiful photos of the Grand :)
Thank you!

I love the fish out of water pin. He is my favorite character from the Chicken Little movie. Sounds like yall had a great night at MK. I think it would be neat to get syuck at the top of Splash Mountain and have to be evacuated out. But maybe I'm just weird. lol
He is a great little character from Chicken Little. I really want to watch that movie again.

I would love to be stuck on almost any other ride...but not Splash. :lmao:

Another most wonderful update!! Love your pictures of GF!! WOOT yay for another wonderful meal!! Both soups look fantastic I really am looking forward to that meal there!!!

Love Love the picture of you and Marc!!! That shirt looks amazing on you!!!!

OH...that shirt is so perfect!!! If it is there in January I'm getting it and I will make Phillip wear it!!! TOO CUTE!!!
I would have bought the shirt if I thought Phillip would wear it, I want to see him in it!!

Such a fun day/evening! I almost ate at GF cafe, it was our backup in case the luau was canceled. Next time!!

What a great night at MK! I love your pins - you had great pin trading karma!!

I love the picture of the two of you outside MK - you both look great and happy!
I had a great time pin trading this trip. I got a lot of good ones I think.

Yay for a nice dinner. The soup looked really yummy! I love slushy cokes.
Slushy Cokes are amazing. Mmmmm, I could so go for one right now.

Gorgeous pictures from the Grand Floridian, and it sounds like you had a wonderful night at the Magic Kingdom! I love the picture of the two of you in front of the train station! Your slushie coke binge sounds like our frozen cappucino binge. We were seriously addicted to them on the trip!
Marc didn't love the slushy cokes so he usually got a fruit one and then he'd give me a look when I'd go for another slushy coke! I kept telling him I was on vacation. :rotfl2:

Glad you got to finally visit the Grand Floridian. I enjoyed the GF Cafe when I ate there a few years back. Sounds like the food is still good.

The food was excellent. Chicken Little isn't my favorite Disney movie but I think it's cute.

Thanks for joining in!!

We had great luck with rides, I could ride TSM all day long!

I love how you arrived by boat too - I always forget about the ferries. So glad you had another successful meal and a very nice afternoon and evening, gotta love an empty MK!!! :yay:
You will have a great meal in March! We were actually texting while we at the GF.

The boats are a lovely way to get to the resorts!

I had no idea they had French Onion soup at Panera. I usually just get the Fuji Apple salad when I go there, and don't even look at the menu. I might have to make a pitstop on the way home.
They do! It's really quite good, it's the best when it's in the bread bowl though. :rotfl2:

Wednesday September 8th.

Today was the day! We were moving to Riverside. I was very excited and couldn't wait to see if we did get a Mansion room after all.

We were up bright and early. We brought our luggage over to bell services. Let me tell you, that was quite a hike with our luggage, we were both pouring sweat by the time we got there. It was already hot, hot, hot! Once we got there, the CM said, "We could have picked those up for you." Oy! How did I not know that? Oh well. We dropped off our luggage with a wish that we'd see them again very soon at Riverside.

We were waiting for a bus a little after 8 and made it to Magic Kingdom well before rope drop.

Once we were let into the park I slowly made my way up Main Street. Marc was on a mission, a Space Mountain mission so he headed to Tomorrowland.

I walked very slowly to Fantasyland. I was hot. I think this was one of the worst heat days for me after our horrible Epcot Monday we had already experienced.

I saw the step sisters yelling for Cinderella at her Royal Table.

DSC00407.jpg

I collected fastpasses for Peter Pan and took a spin on it by myself. Then I headed over to Pooh. It was a little weird in Fantasyland with all of the construction, I didn't really like it. I understand it's necessary but it kills a little bit of the magic.

After my ride with Pooh, my favorite part being when you bounce like Tigger, I headed back towards the carousel and spotted my favorite nanny.

Marc texted me and he was headed my way and he made it just in time to take my picture with Mary and Bert. This picture is hideous...my hair was awful this day.

DSC00408.jpg

Marc didn't love Space Mountain, he said it's not a must do for him but it's an okay ride.

Marc & I decided to head to get a slushie coke but we decided to stop at the tea cups first since there was no line. I haven't ridden the teacups in Disney since I was five. My uncle spun me so badly when I was five that my mom swears to this day that my eyes were rolling back in my head, all I remember is hearing my mom scream from her teacup with my dad and brother for my uncle to stop....he didn't. I made Marc promise not to spin it.

Those teacups are tight quarters, my goodness!
DSC00409.jpg

DSC00413.jpg

They are still not my cup of tea but I conquered my fear so i was happy we took the time to take a spin.

We headed to Tomorrowland and the Lunching Pad wasn't open yet!! Not until 11!!! We went for a spin on Buzz Lightyear, there was no wait. We still didn't like it. I am so confused when I am playing, I have no idea where to shoot. It just isn't fun for me or Marc for that matter.

We still had time to wait until 11 so we journeyed to the Carousel of Progress. I was too hot to take pictures at this point in the day. Some would say that I was a crank pot. I don't dispute that description. We then took a spin on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover. Say that 5 times fast.

After our spin on the Peoplemover, I decided that I was not walking another step until I got my slushie coke so I sat down at a table in the shade and waited for the Lunching Pad to open. I had been texting back and forth with Brook about our Haunted Mansion meet. I had debated leaving the park before the meet because it was so darn hot. Brook & her family were enjoying their time at Epcot so they decided to stay there which was just fine since Marc & I were not going to stay at Magic Kingdom for much longer.

FINALLY, the slushie coke was in my greedy little hands.

Mine! Mine! Mine!

I was feeling refreshed from my Slushie Coke, I did drink it a little too fast and got a little stuck but it passed fairly quickly, I had to nurse the rest of it even slower but it was worth it.

We decided that a break in AC is just what we needed, Philharmagic it was! A lovely show as always. Then we redeemed our Peter Pan fastpasses. I adore this ride, it makes me feel happy.

Then of course since we were so close we hopped into a doom buggy and visited the 999 Happy Haunts. We walked through frontierland but we decided to skip out on BTMRR and I offered to ride Splash but Marc didn't feel like getting wet. He was a bit cranky too because of the heat.

You will have to take my word on all of this, beacause I was too hot and cranky to take pictures.... We weren't too cranky to take a nice cooling ride on Pirates though!

After pirates we had decided, enough was enough. We had the Riverside pool waiting for us!

We took a few pictures on the way out.

Marc asked me to take this picture, I still don't know why. He was even directing me, "Don't just take a picture of one bird, get them all!"
DSC00419.jpg

Ok, Marc.

We cut through the Emporium and headed to a glorious Riverside bus. Do you know how close the POR stop is to MK? It's like the closest bus! Score!!!

Coming up...
Would I be able to fulfill my Southern Belle daydreams with a Mansion Room??

Inquiring minds want to know about your room!! I mean that is like the only thing that never changed, right? You wanted a mansion room. Sorry it was so hot. At least MK has places all over to at least duck in for some AC. You seem to have accomplished a lot. That was a big slushie coke. Is it a snack credit? How much was it? I may have to budget for a couple of those. I love them at the Target snack bar. But I think they are like $1.69
Well, I know it already happened but I really hope you get your room.

If I remember correctly...they were $6.49. I think. That was in the souvenir mug though, there was a cheaper option but I liked the mugs so now I have collection of about 6 of them at home..... :rolleyes1 I don't know if it was a snack credit or not, the smaller option might be.

Don't tell me they have them at Target! :scared1: I'm going to pretend I never read that or I will be having them every week when I got to Target.

They do have them at Target :)

There is a 7-11 right next to Cayley's preschool-gues I'm getting me a Slurpee today

Now, I've gone to Disney in June, but I was able 12 years old. I don't remember which park it was, but one of the parades had 2 giant camel floats in it that featured Aladdin, and when they were lined up just right as they went by, they "spit" water at you. One of the only things I can remember from that June trip, was that I was DYING to get spit by the camel because it was so hot. Now, that I'm older, I think I'm much more crankier, :rotfl: and don't know if I would be able to stand the heat, so I give you super dooper props for taking the heat with (just the right amount?) of crankiness:thumbsup2

I agree with Buzz. Blake and I still like to get on Buzz because we like the inside how it glows and he always beats me because he aims for the targets that are up the highest, but after Toy Story Mania came around, Buzz just doesn't even come close anymore. We still like getting pictures inside!

So excited to hear if you got your Mansion room!

Target has faux slurpees and they usually have coca cola and wild cherry and you can mix. And they hit the spot BUT I have a feeling they might be a different consistency. Were the Disney ones like a slupee or more slushie like? Burger King has them too. Sorry!

Another simply wonderful update!!! Sorry it was so hot!!! I'm not sure what has been going on with Florida lately, but its been staying hotter for longer!!

I love that mug...what a great souvenir to have!! And Disney frozen cokes are the best!! LOVE THEM!!!!

Can't wait to hear about your POR pool time!

I was soooo far behind.

I love that you out scored Marc three times. I'm wondering if it those cool new glasses.

Your lunch at Brown Derby sounded so good. Actually your whole day sounded pretty great.

I'm so glad you made it to the GF. It's so lovely. Both of my daughters want to stay there someday. It's their dream resort. You got some really great pictures in the resort.

Sounds like a great morning in the MK except for the heat. I know how much it can really zap your energy and make you cranky.

I'm dying to find out if you got the room you wanted.

Marc asked me to take this picture, I still don't know why. He was even directing me, "Don't just take a picture of one bird, get them all!"
DSC00419.jpg

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: This made me laugh out loud and then Charles wanted to know what was so funny! Our husbands are so weird sometimes! :lmao:

Love, love, love that you got a picture with Bert and Mary! I think it is adorable!

Hey, I am liking the souvenir cup your slushie coke came in -- that is very cool!

Hurray for trying out the teacups!!! I am so happy you at least gave them a spin.

I know all about crankiness in the heat. It definitely sounds like heading to the pool was a wise choice. We had to do that every afternoon.

Sorry you were cranky today... I think it happens to all of us sometime during a vacation... especially if it's hot! :headache:

I can't wait to see if you got a mansion room!!

Slushie Cokes at Target, Sam's Club and Burger King ;) Now just forget I said that.
Laughing at the bird picture!!! What the?!! Don't get just one..get them all! :rotfl2::rotfl2: You should frame it for him and give it to him for Christmas!
I remember one of the first times we ever went to Disney and I was on the teacups with one of my brothers. He spun it so fast my neck was pinned back like I was looking up at the sky. I know I was five the first time so it was either when I was five or seven! :sad2:
Sometimes it is just tooooo hot! I just can't wait to see what you get for your room. I do hope you got that mansion you so wanted :goodvibes

Tracy

Sounds like kind of a mixed bag morning. Sounds like you did have some fun though- not as bad as EPCOT.

Love the picture of the Tremaines yelling for Cinderella. Too funny.

I'm really hoping that you'll get your mansion room.
