Hi! We are headed to D land and the DLH next week. We are so excited! We haven't been in 3 years!! The best part is we are surprising the kids. We haven't told them yet!! I can't wait to tell them. We are going to tell them on Thanksgiving. I bought an Olaf from The Disney Store with a Santa hat. I am going to wrap him up and let the kids open it after we watch The Thanksgiving day parade!! Have him holding a note saying we can't wait to see you!! EEEEEK!! CANT WAIT!!
I know there is so much to see and do. I have been reading all of the tips. I have a couple questions.
Are there any special holiday activities at the GCH or DLH?
Considering renting a stroller from city stroller for my five year old. Just in case she passes out at night and we don't have to carry her back to hotel. Any reviews of their company?
We have a premium view which tower should we request?
Any other fun holiday tips are appreciated!!

TIA

So glad you're coming down for a trip! The kids are going to be so excited!

I highly recommend finding time to watch the fireworks in DL. They're holiday themed and they even have snow on main street. You guys are going to have a blast!

You may have read tips, but you've missed some important posts about the hotels during the holidays!:)

This is a post with a lot of info about the hotels and what goes on during the holidays, with thumbnails/photos -- HERE.

This is a post with more photos and details about what you will find at the hotels during the holidays (taken from the Theme Week Countdown/contest we were doing in the Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread, which recently ended) -- HERE.

This post is specifically about what you will find at the Grand Californian Hotel during the holidays -- HERE.

This is the link to the Disneyland at Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread (thank you for the referral, SnowBelleAlice :goodvibes:)-- HERE. If you scroll down the posts on page 1 -- you don't need to read them if you don't want to -- click on some links and you will get a sense of what you will find and what to look for at Disneyland during the season in terms of food, merchandise, attractions, etc. There is even a Trip Reviews/Recaps/Reports post with links to some reviews of what's happening in the current holiday season.

I can't help you with the stroller company -- I know nothing about that (the Holidays at Disneyland are my specialty, though!).

I haven't stayed at the DLH in years, so I am not sure about the tower and view.

You'll have an amazing trip. The Holidays at DLR are beautiful and magical. Have fun!:dance3::dance3::dance3:

How exciting! How did you keep it a secret? I can never do that! I don't have any tips as we have never been to DL during the Holidays, but we are going this year. Have you checked out the Holiday Super Thread. There is tons of great info on there. It has been a huge help to me in my planning! Have a great time! :santa:

We are also surprising our kids on Thursday! :yay: I've been planning since June, and it is KILLING me!!! We are going to get them an early dismissal from school, and have the school secretary give them a little box with a button that says, "Press me first" and an envelope that says, "Open me second." My dh and I will be waiting nearby, out of sight. Each kid will have a different box, and when they press the button, it'll play 60 seconds of a favorite tune ("It's a small world" song, audio from the beginning of Radiator Racers, and the narration from Tower of Terror.) If they don't figure it out at that point, inside the envelope I'll have "tickets" printed with Friday's date on it. :cool1:

Have fun with your Thanksgiving reveal! :) I love surprises!

Thanks so much for the links Sherry!!
Thanks everyone.. I don't know how I kept it a secret .. So excited!!

We are heading down on the 30th and staying at the DLR hotel. We are surprising the kids too. We booked way back in September and it has been so hard keeping it a secret...we have also never been during the holiday season so I am excited. I am hoping a 3 day park hopper will be enough time, because we also are doing 1 day at SeaWorld...
