I don't love the looks of the rooms either,a little too plain for me, but we loved POR! The greenery and the water were so nice. We thought of it as a JV WL. We just had a weekend in January booked here but had to change to ASMu to accomodate some friends who are coming with us. I thought it was no big deal, but looking at your pictures reminds me how much I liked POR! Oh well, we'll have to find another weekend to get back there!

Yep, that's it - a little plain. It was still nice though. It does sort of remind me of WL now that you mention it. That's another resort on my list to try!

How were the beds? We're arriving in mid Dec. Do u think they would offer an early checkin as our plane is getting in a little before 11:00 am? I also prefer to bring my own bags, not wait for them to be picked up and we're trying the bus system for the first time.

I was just about to ask all the same questions! LOL! I am a bit worried about the pool now. We are going Dec 15-20th and my son still swims in DEC. I also how the ME bus was a fluke and not a regular occurance! 1 1/2hrs on that bus would not me good. I get motion sickness on the ride over from the airport when it is just under an hour!

The beds were comfortable. I have no idea about the early check in at POR. I do know that anytime we have arrived at any WDW resort before check in our room has been ready!

I would be concerned about the temperature of the pool water in December too. I am hoping it is not an all the time thing at POR. I know when we were at CBR in January the water was much warmer and we enjoyed a whole afternoon by the pool. So maybe the POR pool heater was just not working correctly when we were there.

I just called them and they said the water temp is set to 82 degrees and there is nothing wrong with the heater at the main pool.

I sure hope for your sake that is right!! I know they are all supposed to be 82 degrees. There is no way it was even close to that last week. All of the kids were shaking and their lips were turning blue! We could definitely tell the difference when we moved over to OKW for the last few days, the water was so much warmer, even though the air temperature was cooler.

Great review! I'm sticking with CBR- I'm spoiled with a bench with a drawer!

We don't let mousekeeping in too much either. I clean myself but I feel tons better knowing it's clean. Call me OCD if you wish.

I love all the pics! Your boys look thrilled in each and every one of them. The one with DS10 and his light saber reminded me to put my DS's light saber on the packing list!

And the windblown look is nice- makes you look like a supermodel working the camera

I guess since I have made Baton Rouge, Louisiana my home for the last 20+ years...I need to point out to you all the OBVIOUS!

The Frog was NOT an accident.

He was carefully planted there as a part of WDW's continued quest for excellence in Theming...

You are...after all... in a Resort replicating the ambience...including the swamps of Louisiana...

I hope you tipped the staff extra for the Actual Live Frog in your room - cher!

(I'm sure they've tried alligators...but that probably didn't work out as well as the Frogs)
