I've read several places that there may be a limit to how many people can stay with the person in a wheelchair. I can't imagine splitting our family up for someone to stay with my daughter. I understand if it is not immediate family, but that would be sad to keep having to split up because our family is "too large" to stay together.

the DAS is good for up to 6 guests, inlcuding the DAS holder. any exemption to that policy should be considered pixie dust, regardless of family size.

that being said.. does she even need/qualify for a DAS? what are the reasons she cannot wait in a regular line? if those reasons can be met by her wheelchair, she does not qualify for one.

regardless.. large parties of ten can EXPECT to be split up on many rides. no special circumstances needed

If you are talking about shows, they usually allow 1-2 companions to sit next to the wheelchair -- others may be in a row or two ahead or elsewhere. If they allowed your whole family to take up all the companion seats, that would mean other guests would need to sit completely by themselves without anybody else from their traveling party. The wheelchair seating is often cut-outs along the back row, with space for a wheelchair, bench for 2 companions, space for 1-2 wheelchairs, bench for 2 companions, etc. If your family is mostly very young children, I'd suggest you plan ahead taking turns who sits with whom.

For ride vehicles, they are limited to the seating designed for that ride vehicle -- some seat 4 and some 6 or 8. A few of the boats may seat 10. Again, depending on whether anyone is young enough for a lap or baby carrier (generally under a year old), you may be able to fit. But I'd expect to be split. There is information about ride vehicles in the disABILITIES FAQs thread pinned near the top of this forum.

If all she need is a wheel chair most things you do you can take the wheel chair in lines. There are about 5 things a wheel chair will not go in line and depending on the ride and other thing you may have to split up. But as a PP said show you will more then likely need to split up.

If you are staying onsite and plan to take the buses to the parks, be aware that drivers may not allow the entire party of ten to board with the wheelchair at the ramp. I don't recall the exact number that is officially allowed to board through the back, but it isn't 10, for sure. Some drivers may allow it, and others may limited it to your daughter and 1-2 people to assist. The rest of the party should join the regular queue.

Correct that it's at the bus driver's discretion and typically not more than 6 through the back door. However, based on other posts, I believe OP's large party is not the typical large party at WDW -- I believe it's 2 parents plus 10 minor children including at least 3-4 who are young enough to use strollers. I would hope a driver would not make a party like that split for transportation. It may be required, but hopefully not often. Hence the recommendation to travel at off-peak times and/or be willing to wait for the next bus.

Honestly, I would plan on splitting up. In many spots such as shows and fireworks viewing, there just isn't the space to accommodate that large a party in the wheelchair sections. Buses, again, I would just plan on sending most of the party through the main line if there is an extensive one and just plan on boarding either separately or waiting for them to come to the front of the line.

You can get some pixie dust and be able to stay together in some cases, and the fact it would be mostly children and not adults I think would increase the chance of pixie dust, but if I was planning, I'd be building my plan on separating and be happy when we wouldn't have to.

I would not stress over this at all since you are immediate family, with 10 children. Although only one or two of you may sit next to the wheelchair spots, but the rest of the family will most likely be sitting directly in the row in front of them.

My bad. I forgot about the title of the thread and did not realize it was ten children. Apologies!
