We had to cancel our Vacation Home for the end of August....

Hi Everybody,We had a wonderful home reserved for the end of August and now we have to cancel our plans to go to Florida...
I lost my job a couple of weeks ago (june 1st) and I had worked there almost 10 years. Now two weeks later I realize I may not receive my last pay check.It's in the mail (they say).....
My car did not start for the last few days so I brought it to my mechanic and yup....the motor is gone.
Now our plans to go down to Florida with our nephew (who is attending UTI) is down the drain.
We just got back from a wonderful trip and we were looking forward to this one too....but no way.With all the financial hardship this is placing on us.....I just wrote the owner of the home and let her know we will have to cancel and why.I feel terrible. But I guess theres no way to tell something like this is going to happen. But all at once??!! Geeesh....
Just had to unload....Hope you don't mind.

My prayer are with you. It is hard to cancel a trip to WDW, but I'm glad you had a wonderful trip to remember until the next one.

Wow,Thank you everybody for the fantastic responses to my post.I really appreciate your support and kindness.
I just got an e-mail from the owner of the house and she was very kind and understanding.If the house gets rebooked for that time she will refund us the deposit or if our situation changes (and the dates have not been re-booked) and we decide to go we can re-book the house! Wow, I'm crossing my fingers hoping we will be able to work things out so we can go!! That would be greaaaaat!!

I just wanted to let all the great people who responded to my post know that we just re-booked our Vacation Home for August!
Yeah!! I found a job soon after I was layed-off so we rebooked the house.The owner said it was 'magic'.....She was so nice and understanding and put thru our final payment immediately and sent us all the information on the house.
It must have been all the Pixie Dust and prayers from all the wonderful people on this board! Thanks sooooo much...
