We had the most WONDERFUL/MAGICAL trip! I LOVE the POLYNESIAN & POFQ! PIXs ADDED!

Just bumping this thread for Noseybuddy. I hope you enjoy your stay at POFQ!

Darn you, Fantasia; I had just about decided to not go this year with my DS (6) DH is burnt out and we would be going by ourselves. Something that actually sounds appealing. :earboy2: Now you go and stir me up again. I already have POFQ booked and was going to call tomorrow to cancel. I think you might have just cost me about $1,500. (our trip cost) Where do I send the bill? ;) Loved your pics, descriptions and your independence. Enjoy Hawaii :cloud9:

Hey, I will be checking in to POFQ tomorrow and I can't wait. Your pictures have me super psyched Telly! :flower: :flower:

Thanks so much for this wonderful thread and all the great pics, Telly!!! I was just thinking about adding a stay at POFQ to our trip in May and this thread just confirmed it for me! Those are great pics and I can't wait to go there now! Thanks!

Oh, and the Poly looks awesome! It's not in our budget for our next trip but it is definitely on our "must do" list now!

Fantasia, thank you so much for this wonderful trip report! Just yesterday, based on many things I read on this board, I switched from an offsite hotel to the Poly for my family's upcoming trip to WDW in Dec.!! I am so excited! I have a question for you - I have booked 2 GV rooms and requested Samoa, Volcano pool view, 1st or 3rd floor. I thought it would be a good spot - close to CH, monorail, etc. but Tokelau #3915 sounds amazing!! When you say "long walk" to GC, monorail, etc. how many minutes would you estimate? I lived in New York City for a number of years, so I'm wondering if my idea of a long walk may be different from some!! :) I am also hearing all of the stuff about refurbished rooms - I am going with a party of 6, ages 9 - 61, any suggestions??!!! We do want to be fairly central, near pool, GC, etc. Thank you so much! Your report and pics are fantastic!

Fantastic Pics. Thanks for sharing and glad you had such a wonderful time!

I have been also trying to post my report, for three days...great report Telly...I love your sunset pictures...we were never at the resort during sunset...bummer.

We also stayed at Tokelau room 1934..we wanted 1st floor and I thought the walk was very short....to everything...monorail, Captain Cooks, GCH, TTC and pools...but I guess after walked for miles and miles and miles at the park, it seemed short to us....also the landscaping is just so beautiful, I was always taking pictures and looking...

Telly, how did you ever get your report to post.....

Any bldgs are good bldgs. Looking at the map, Samoa seems to be central to everything. I have this thing about critters such as snakes, roaches, lizards... I don't like staying on the first floor, this is just my preference. I like the 3rd floor because I know whichever bldg I get, balcony is guarantee. I have always liked higher floors for better view of the grounds and the pictures that I take comes out nicer.

Tokelau #3915 is at the very end of the bldg. I say it took us maybe 5 minutes from the monorail to our room. My children's legs are short, so our walk is not fast. But coming from the parks, that 5 minute walk seems like a half hour hike! I love #3915...who wouldn't with that enchanted view of Cinderella Castle and to see the "Wishes!" Even if you don't have a view of the castle.. when you are out in the pool or at the beach, you can't miss the Castle. And I wouldn't worry to much either about seeing the "Wishes." You can view it at the pool/beach and Ohana, but you just have to time it to see it.

As far as refurbishments, I wouldn't worry about it. I think they do a great job hiding it.I The grounds at the Poly is just exotically beautiful that even if you did see someone outside the bldg working... it will not kill the beauty of the ground.

The next bldg I would love to try is Fiji! I want to face the GF and the beach. I want to feel secluded and away from the rest of the bldgs. I want to feel like I am actually on an island. And Fiji is a little closer to the GCH and the monorail. We prefer the monorail vs the boat. My children loves riding the monorail.

1934 must be on the other side of the bldg closer to GCH because our is was at the very end of the bldg close to the beach. How did I ever get my report to post? Hmmm... well hit the botton "NEW THREAD"... and from there you can post your own trip review. Put a title for your thread. Just hit SUBMIT. Hope that helps! :)

Thanks guys! Glad you guys enjoyed my trip review and my pixs!! :) I'm sure I have more Poly pixs that needs to be downloaded... I will as soon as I get a chance! So.. just stay tuned...

Wow! I love what they've done to the French Quarter's rooms. Might have to give this one a try. Thanks for all of the photos of both resorts.

Our reservation is at POFQ right now. I'm so tempted to change it to PORS because that is where I've always wanted to stay. After looking at your pictures, I can't make up my mind again. I will probably just keep my POFQ reservation.

I would stick with POFQ. It is a very lovely resort. It is very charming and quaint. POFQ is the first drop/pick up to/from the park. You're pretty much almost guaranteed you will have a seat. The boat ride to DTD is a little bit shorter because you're closer to DTD than POR. I really hope you will give POFQ a try. I think you'll like it there a lot. But whichever you choose, you will have a wonderful time.

Thank you so much for sharing some of the magic with us,
Loved your pictures, POFQ is my favorite resort and now I think I will try the poly too.

Your pictures are fantastic! It makes me want to be at POFQ right now. (Only 10.5 months till we go) I am glad you had a nice trip and it looks like everyone had a great time. Your report was great too.

Great pics! They really make me wish I went with the Poly instead of AKL. Oh well - next time.
You guys are such a great looking family!

Thanks for the recommendation. It will all decide on if I decide to do AP or not. With AP I can't do the FQ, because all the rooms are booked.

Fantasia,

I mentioned this on my "Help, I caught RAD!" post, but I just wanted to tell you again how much I appreciate you posting these pics. It REALLY helps us to decide which resort!!

You and your children are beautiful! :flower:
