We had the most WONDERFUL/MAGICAL trip! I LOVE the POLYNESIAN & POFQ! PIXs ADDED!

What a wonderful trip report! I love your photos...we are planning a trip next month to the Polynesian and it will be our first trip there. We're very excited! I agree with you about WL - as of now it's our favorite, too.

I have a question - was the Neverland Club open during the day? I may have misread you but it sounded like that's when your children were there. DS is really excited about trying the Kid's Clubs after he turns 4, but his 4th birthday is the second to last night we're there (and he's not going to be by himself on his birthday!) and we have other plans for the last night there, but if he could play there or look around during the day, that would be great!

TIA!

The Neverland Club is open from noon-3pm at no charge, you can use their facilities, but you have to stay there with your children. The children and I were there from noon until 2pm. From 3-midnight, you have to pay and it's supervised. 6-8 is their dinner time. There's plenty for the children to do there. It actually reminded me of the Disney Cruise when the children took advantage of the Oceaneers' Club. Lots of fun things to do. And the kids' didn't want to leave the place. They could have stayed there all day long. The staff that I met there were very nice. :) I think your 4 yo will enjoy the Neverland Club.

For some reason I never knew the Neverland Club was open from noon to 3 ...

Thanks for the info. My 8-year-old will be so excited. WHat a great break in the afternoon - and an escape from the heat.

Yes, from noon-3, but unsupervised. So you have to stay with your children. It is nicely themed, I think. Yes, it is nice to escape from the heat and rest from the pool! Since my daughter is not into arcades, this place is good for her and my son can do the arcade in the "ship." So what do a parent to do while they are busy?... I take pictures and do some arts and crafts myself!

Booo-Hoooo!! We were waiting for the DME bus on our way back to the airport. We're so sad.

"I don't wanna go!" Whaaaaa...whaaaaa...
MagicalDisneyTripAug2005311.jpg
I told the bus driver to just take us to Magic Kingdom, but he wouldn't listen! I told him I didn't wanna go. He said he has no choice but to take us to the airport, I told him he was mean! He said "well..someone has to do the dirty job." When we got to SSR, he just said, "This is our last stop before we head out to the airport, if anyone here who does not want to leave the Disney property, now is the time to get off the bus." I just looked at my kids and thought... "hmmmm... should we get off now?!" The driver just smiled at me.

Then he told us a story about this new bus driver. The new bus driver picked up the guests from the airport. One of the stop is at OKW. Well... he kept on driving and driving for about 3 hours heading towards Key West!! :teeth: The guests finally said something "Aren't we suppose to be in Disney by now??" :rotfl: So, the driver of course got fired. Funny story! I just kept laughing!! He was a funny guy.

Loved, loved, loved your pics! The POFQ ones brought back so many memories. We've stayed there twice and it's our favorite moderate resort. And I'm just like you on that last day waiting to the ride to MCO. It's always so sad to leave.

What kind of camera do you have (sorry if someone already asked this)?

It's Olympus C740 Ultra Zoom. 3.2 Megapixel 30X zoom I love my digital camera! But there's still a lot of stuff I don't know what those icons are for. I mean I am not good in setting them. I just do the auto focus and I just let the camera do it for me. But there was the pictures taken of the Castle at night and it didn't turn out right, I think I was suppose to change the setting or something.... Glad you like my pixs!!

Fantasia, I am so glad you had a wonderful trip and got home safely too. We had a lovely time at French Quarter and then at Beach Club Villas, too. It was wonderful to meet you! I have told my pals on the Community Board how excited I was to FINALLY meet a DISer onsite. Seeing you at the Polynesian WAS "like meeting a celebrity!"

Your pictures are beautiful, and I completely agree about French Quarter. We were pleasantly surprised and plan to go back next spring before we head to Old Key West. The whole resort was quaint and so clean and peaceful. We were in Building #1, the "farthest out" and still felt close to everything.

I loved your pictures! Thanks for sharing. :flower:

Great pictures! What a beautiful family you have. I am glad you all had such a magical time. ::MickeyMo You all look so happy.

This is the first time I've seen pictures posted of the Neverland Club. Wow. That place looks neat. My DS would love it there. He's always been a big Peter Pan fan.

Those pictures make me want to get back there soon, but DL will probably be our next stop.

Thanks for sharing :sunny:

What is the Neverland Club, and where is it located? We are staying at POP this September and I am wondering if my kids would be interested and if they can go? :goodvibes

Beautiful kids Telly! Beautiful pictures! Some of those could be postcards...especially the one of the flower in front of the Poly pool and the sunset photo. I can't wait to get to the Poly in October!!

Also, glad to see you didn't have to flip anyone off a hammock! :rotfl:

Ha ha ha ha... :rotfl: I know huh?! Luckily, no one was there for me to flip the hammock off! I can see them look at me with their evil eyes! And I'll just play it off like I didn't do it... :rolleyes1

Just bumping the thread for those who are just joining in... :Pinkbounc

I read thru some of the posts and I may be asking a question that has already been asked but.....

When are you planning to go again? You seem like such a tight family, looks like you had a great time.

By the way, on one of the pictures you posted, your son wears a tropical kinda looking hawaian blue shirt. My DH bought the exact same one in MK. »At a shop in adventure land.

I will try to post a pic....

Bought it especially for our dinner at Ohana's

Fantasia!
Thank You so Much for sharing your pictures with us. I agree that POFQ is Wonderful along with all the others. I will be at the FQ in less than two weeks with my oldest Daughter. She has never been to POFQ. Thank You Again Fantasia.. Your Children are Beautiful so is Mommy.. Have a Great Day.
Nadine from Michigan..

Fantasia,
Your pictures of POFQ are beautiful....I am actually thinking of switching from WL to POFQ. Is there a big difference between the moderate & deluxe?

Claudine, It will be a while before we can get back to Orlando. My plan for next year is do Hawaii. I already banked enough miles to fly FREE to Maui or Oahu. If we do go back to Disney, it will probably during Easter week which falls during my birthday.

Nadine, you're welcome. Just wanted to share the pixs for everyone to enjoy.

chipmunkfan, besides the cost and the location and the themeing, deluxe resorts have queen beds vs. double beds. You have two full service restaurants (Artist Point and Whispering Canyon) and a food court (Roaring Fork) at WL. POFQ has the food court (Sassagoula) and if you want a full service restuarant there's POR's Boatwright's Dining Hall. Deluxe has room service and the moderate has limited room service. You have the boat or the bus transportation to MK, but POFQ you can use the boat or the bus to DD.
WL have the inside corridor, everything is in one bldg. POFQ has the outside corridor and there are seven bldgs. Both resorts are wonderful. They are both beautiful in their own ways. WL is also my favorite resort, especially during the holiday!

Great pictures, Telly! I think you’ve got to give all of Disney’s resorts a try, if for no other reason than so you can take your great pictures of them all. We stayed at POR, and POFQ is on our to do list as well. We love the “feel” of those resorts every bit as much as the feel of most of the deluxes we’ve visited. As for the feel of AKL—I think you must not have been there when they were cooking something down at Boma and Jiko. When they do, the smells wafts up to the lobby level and is wonderful. Gee, maybe I just like food-smelling lobbies, LOL! :teeth:

Thanks Elizabeth. I would like to give every each resort a try, but some of them just doesn't attract me. I do like taking pictures, but only the ones I am interested in. I do need to try something different now that I have enough pictures of the Polynesian and POFQ. I would like to try BC, but when I was there, I didn't get a vibe :goodvibes from that resort. I do like the idea of Epcot being so near the place. It will be awhile before I can get back to Disney. I think my agenda for next year is Hawaii. A few days in Maui and a few days in Oahu... I'm afraid that my Disney is out for next year.
