This was our best trip yet to Disney! We loved the room at SSR. We stayed in Studio 2701 and our parents stayed in studio 2747. They had a bird nest right next to their balcony. We had a beautiful view of DTD and got to catch the fireworks every night. My only complaint was that the balcony was very buggy. (Mosquitos and spiders laying eggs.) Anyone staying there during summer months would want to bring some bug spray if they wanted to hang out on the balcony. It would be nice if they put up screens into the rooms from the balcony so you could have some fresh air without bugs, but they are probably too hard to maintain. The quiet pool was nice, but don't show up there right at ten am because they need to skim the bugs out of the pool that commited kamikazee the following evening.

Our first night we headed to MGM where my husband tricked me into going on Rock-NRoller Coaster. The CM wouldn't let me walk through the ride when I found it went upside down. He said it was only 90 seconds and that I should get on the ride. Even though I was mad at him- I ended up loving the ride. Then we went on ToT. I rode with my glasses off. (Not a very good idea-it's scarier when everything is blurry.)
Then we went to ride Star Tours and on the way got asked to be the people on the PT boat on the backlot tour. Did I mention my senior citizen Dad was along and it was his first time at WDW? He got to pilot the PT Boat while my husband and I splayed around getting shot at. Too much fun!
The next day we headed to Epcot. Since we had been on Mission Space before my dad and mom went to ride it while my husband, DD and I hung out and played the space race game. Then we went to test track. My DD and I had been on numerous times from other trips, but this is the first time the ride has broken down while we were on it. Of course we broke down in the part of the outside track hanging at a 45 degree angle. My 5 year old DD flipped out and started screaming. My mother is panicked since it's the first time she's been on it and my husband is trying to hold himself in the car. We hung there for 8 minutes (seemed like forever) before they got the ride going again. The CM asked us if we wanted to go on again, but my DD and mom both screamed NOOOO!!! at the same time. We can all laugh about that now, except my DD had a hard time with the rest of the rides during our trip . She kept asking if they would break down. I'll send the professional counseling bill to WDW next month.

Then my husband got picked to be Lancelot in the UK World showcase players. I wish I had a video camera at the time.(blackmail:tongue: )

The next day we did some rides at Magic Kingdom. (I still can't beleive I got my parents to ride Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Railroad) We ate at Ohana's that night (they have really wonderful food!)Our last day included the SSR Founder's Day celebration. They let us participate since we were staying at the resort. We also received a nice horseshoe keepsake with the resort name on it and Minnie and Mickey riding horses. The highlight was that my DD won a Belle drawing by Don Williams in a raffle after the information session with him. What a wonderful way to end our vacation! We are so happy we purchased into DVC and can't wait for many more vacations to come.

Sounds wonderful! Thanks for posting. I was just contemplating stay there next year!

Sounds like you had a great time! Your parents are real troopers hitting the "mountains" and Mission Mars! You seemed to have a lot of Disney magic on this trip -- I hope you have many more magical trips "home" together!

What a GREAT trip report! Glad you had such a magical time.:earsboy: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo pirate:
