We got food, yes we do, we got food, how 'bout you? - PICTRUES! UPDATED 11-25-08

We then headed to Toon Town. Once there the kids wanted their faces painted. Skye was too little last year so this would be her first face painting.

Tyler picked Captain Jack and Skye had a Mermaid Princess. She couldn’t decide between that any a Fairy Princess ($15.00 each). They were both quite happy with their faces afterwards.

072_72.jpg

We headed to Barnstormer.

075_75.jpg

This is the biggest ride Skye can ride. She loved it last time when Ty and Lou took her twice…I had never been on it but this time I had no choice. She loves these rides. I’m telling you, she is going to be the thrill ride seeker leaving Tyler to sit on the curb and wait for her! We toured Mickey and Minnie’s houses

077_77.jpg

078_78.jpg

079_79.jpg

and headed back up towards Main Street.

image134.jpg

We checked in for our 1pm lunch at Crystal Palace.

080_80.jpg

We waited about 15 minutes to be seated.

081_81.jpg

083_83.jpg

We saw Pooh and the gang again and ate some good food.

We had eaten Dinner here a few years ago and were not impressed but we really liked lunch.

085_85.jpg

That's Ty's pizza, chicken fingers, and cheese. And Skye's mac-n-cheese, green beans, cantalope, roll, and cheese.

086_86.jpg

And that is one of my plates. I cannot even begin to tell you what's on it!

090_90.jpg

The kids love vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles!

109_109.jpg

And a community dessert plate!

That seems odd to me that we liked lunch so much better than dinner...maybe it was just a bad day fr dinner when we were there but we did. During lunch Tyler was apparently playing with the camera and took about twenty pictures of himself in succession.

108_108.jpg

I spared you at least half of them...I almost fell out when we took the camera to Exposition Hall to get some of them put on disc so we'd have more room and the man helping us started scrolling through the first 100 on that strip. He asked if I wanted to delete some but I was laughing so hard I just had to keep them! I don’t know if he meant to or if he even realized that he was doing it but it really made me laugh when I saw it! Anyway, we were there for about 45 minutes or so and it would have cost $47.90 if it were not for the DDDP…which only cost 3 meal credits.

So after lunch we rode The Jungle Cruise…with almost no line! There is always a line for this…but not this time. The skipper let Tyler drive because he had his birthday button on.

DSC04084.jpg

For there we went to the Magic Carpets

117_117.jpg

118_118.jpg

119_119.jpg

and the Tiki Room.

110_110.jpg

115_115.jpg

114_114.jpg

I wish the kids could see the real Tiki Room. Tyler gets miffed because they don’t do the song the way it is on his CD. We did Pirates

120_120.jpg

DSC04066.jpg

and when we came out Captain Jack was out.

DSC04068.jpg

Ty got picked (as you can tell, he loves this stuff!)…I think his make-up helped. He was one of the last ones picked as we walked up. Skye was not happy that she was not picked too so before I could stop her (and believe me, I do not like it when people let their kids do whatever they want so this is not something I would have encouraged!) she was up there next to Tyler.

DSC04075.jpg

DSC04073.jpg

DSC04072.jpg

DSC04076.jpg

DSC04077.jpg

I tried to get her back but as she was just about to come back, the first mate walked up to her and looked at her as if to say “Where did you come from?” and she smiled at him and held her hand out for the scroll he was passing out to all the kids. He just laughed and told her to get in line! So of course, I got the “I told you so!” look from her! The kids loved the show and Skye was so happy that she got her way…and I was apparently wrong! On our continued trip through Adventureland we found Captain Hook and Mr. Smee and had to get autographs.

image140.jpg

Then there was a photopass photographer a little further down. He handed Tyler a sword and told him to act like he was sword fighting and for Skye and me to act scared. We had not seen this before. When the picture is made, it has Captain Hook on the other side of the sword…very cool!

image136.jpg

So then we found Peter Pan and Wendy and they had a lot of questions for Tyler about his face!

DSC04089.jpg

DSC04085.jpg

DSC04087.jpg

Tyler waited for Big Thunder Mountain alone again…hey, he wanted to! We saw The Country Bears Jamboree.

DSC04092.jpg

We walked along the water and got a neat picture of the Haunted Mansion from there.

DSC04093.jpg

We rode Haunted Mansion….still cannot inderstand how Tyler rationalizes this compared to the things he is supposedly afraid of!

Caught this picture on the way too...

DSC04094.jpg

After that we walked to Fantasyland and I think straight through…very crowded back there! And it was nearing our dinner time. We had 7pm ADRs at the Grand Floridian Café. We were seated right away…there were empty tables and walk-ups were being taken.

DSC04096.jpg

We were brought a bread basket.

DSC04097.jpg

I had Crab Cakes for my appetizer.

DSC04098.jpg

The kids each had the cheese pizza with fries...which I apparently have not pictues of but they were your tupcal fare. I had the New York Strip (although my receipt says Land & Sea) with mashed potatoes and brocollini. I had the lemon cheesecake for dessert.

DSC04099.jpg

DSC04102.jpg

Skye insisted on Worms In Dirt…no pudding is not something my kids usually ask for. I explained to her what it was. She insisted. When she got it, she was disgusted by the worms in it…but she likes gummy worms…which is all they are.

DSC04101.jpg

Tyler, on the other hand, like a good pirate, ate her worms.

DSC04103.jpg

She ended up eating a little of the dirt but not much… My receipt does not have a charge for Tyler for dessert so I don’t know what he got…and I do not have any pictures of the kid’s food except the worms…although I am pretty sure he must have gotten something??? But he also got a birthday cupcake and a song.

DSC04100.jpg

Our meal here was only about 45 minutes long…but not rushed. The restaurant was great and comfortable and the staff was great! We’d go back here any time. Our bill was $60.47 or three meal credits! We also tipped $15.00 here…so over 20%...so that should show how good our service was!

Afterwards we needed some antibacterial cream, I think for a blister on Skye’s foot from her flip flops she had been wearing all day so we stopped in the Sandy Cove at the grand Floridian and got that, a big bottle of water for the room and a bag of gummys…ya, she loves those but the worms at dinner were not going to be eaten by her! They ladies behind the counter were packing away some Christmas things and gave her this huge chocolate Mickey Head with green sprinkles on it in a bag wrapped with a red bow with a jungle bell on it…just because she was cute. (by-the-way, we just ate it the other day and it was great!). Cause we needed more food right? So we took the monorail back to the Magic Kingdom and caught a bus home from there.

DSC04105.jpg

It was closed at 8pm but had Extra Magic Hours for resorts guests until 11pm so we hit a lot of people leaving but most of them were heading to the monorail of boat launch for the parking lot so we did not have much of a wait. We caught a bus not too long after arriving and had no problem getting a seat. Back at the room we cleaned up, changed, and packed up for tomorrow…which was going to be another early day…and a big one for Skyler!

Sorry for the confusion...but it does not seem like anyone is reading anyway...so on we go!

We walked back up Main Street stopping at every Photopass person we saw.

image182.jpg

image191.jpg

image194.jpg

We got to Exposition Hall and there was no one there! So Skye got her photos done and the girls all had fun with her.

image200.jpg

image201.jpg

image205.jpg

image203.jpg

They took a ton more but these were the best. I was not super pleased with what came out but they were cute. Then we went to Main Street Bakery for breakfast. This was the one place we had a problem figuring out what was eligible on the dining plan. I asked before we ordered anything. The person behind the counter told me one thing and the cashier said something else. I wanted to use one meal and one snack credit but somehow…whether it was my misunderstanding or a mis-explanation I do not know…ended up using two meal credits. We got two croissant sandwiches, a cinnamon roll, a plain croissant, a white milk and a chocolate milk. I do not have the total on that meal nor do I have any pictures for some reason. We were eating just as the park opened at 9am so we got to watch the people come in and were pleasantly surprised that there was not too big a rush to get in.

After breakfast the plan was to go see Ariel in her grotto so we headed back to Fantasyland. They tried to pull the sword out of the stone…again!

DSC04145.jpg

We rode Dumbo,

the Carousel,

DSC04148.jpg

DSC04147.jpg

saw Ariel (which was one of our longest lines),

DSC04151.jpg

saw PhilHarmagic again and headed over to Adventureland. On the way (around 11:30am) we stopped at Liberty Square Produce Market for an iced tea, blue powerade, and a strawberry Banana Smoothie. It was three snack credits. We went to the Tiki Room over there.

DSC04157.jpg

DSC04156.jpg

We probably did other things but I do not remember. At about 1pm we headed to the monorail for a ride over to Epcot. We stopped at Club Cool and tyler tasted Beverly!

DSC04158.jpg

I came across your pre TR and TR today and just read thru it all!!!!

Your kids are so cute and it looks like they had a wonderful time with just Mom!!

Love all the pics you have and would love to try the DDP some day but you are right, it does take up time.

Glad you are getting to try your places to eat, I know what you mean when you just go along with DH choices:thumbsup2

I will check back for the rest of the TR, great job:cool1:

We had 2:20pm ADRs at Restaurant Akershus in Norway.

DSC04163.jpg

DSC04162.jpg

DSC04161.jpg

We were taken in shortly after arriving and the place was pretty empty.

DSC04189.jpg

I had the BBQ sandwich (which I don’t see on the menu anymore).

DSC04168.jpg

It was pulled pork with roasted potatoes. It was very good. The kids both had pizza…go figure!

DSC04169.jpg

They liked it.

DSC04170.jpg

We all find enough appetizer type food on the Koldtbordt (the cold bar). The kids like the cheese and some of the lunch meat type things and the fruit.

DSC04167.jpg

The dessert plate was the Rice Cream with strawberries, chocolate mousse espresso cake, and the princess cake.

DSC04175.jpg

We likes all but the espresso cake…which was not bad, we just don’t even do coffee so the flavor was not something we would like. I think that is a rather specific flavor to put on a family style dessert platter. I think they have since changed that. And on to the PRINCESSES! We saw Belle in the lobby.

Then we had Ariel (which is the main reason for going here!),

and Cinderella.

DSC04187.jpg

DSC04188.jpg

They all took plenty of time with Skye and asked her questions about being a princess. This is one place that I am so glad we tried on our last trip against reviews and our feelings about being scared of the food. We really like this place and even though we have never been to the castle, I am not in that much of a hurry because the food and the character interaction of Akershus has been so wonderful for us that it’s hard to mess with a good thing. This meal was $56.42 but only 3 meal credits.

We hung out at Epcot for the rest of the day.

because I have pictures from those areas. This guy was just hanging out...

DSC04196.jpg

We grabbed a pretzel at the Test Track Turkey Leg cart for one snack credit around 5:30pm. I am sure there were probably a little more in there becase lines were not a problem but I cannot remember now. On our way out it started to rain when were were right around Spaceship Earth…luckily, I had our ponchos but we still got a bit wet on the walk. Skye made sure to keep “Ment-ment” dry though!
