Oh, no~ I was just sitting here trying to figure out where we were and I saw on Dave's website that we are in a "noisy" room! EEK!! Is there a possibility that we will be moved (or can be) at the port? I am so bummed! Anyone been in this room??

Take a deep breathe. It may not be as bad as you think. I do not have experience with that cabin. However, I too got a "noisy" room when my documents arrived for my first ever cruise last years. But I NEVER heard a thing. There was definitely some kind of mechanical area along one wall of the cabin - - the cabin had slightly different shape. But I had no noise problem.

We were in a "noisy" room, too, and the only time it was noisy was the first night, when they were loading all of the luggage on board. And that might have been an aberration, since we boarded at 8 pm and a lot of people didn't get their bags till midnight or 1 am.

A veteran of "noisy" cabins 2030 and 2032. I would lie in bed at night and listen very intently for excess noise. I must be hard of hearing already (I'm only 40, just to clarify.) because I heard nothing out of the usual. Now the kids running up and down the hall . . .
Have you done a search by typing in the number? I did that before I cruised in those cabins and heard from people who had been in the staterooms. They must have been hard of hearing also because they heard nothing either!

I think Dave's sight indicates those rooms are noisy due to machinery nearby. This probably isn't more than a humidifyer would make.

I understand your panic, I wrote a similar post when I realized that our room (6588 i believe) was listed as a "do not book" room in the Passporter book. The room was directly across the hall from the laundry room. It was fine, the noise never troubled us. You can always pack ear plugs just in case.

Frankly, I think the Passporter, et al, do travelers a dis-service by tagging rooms as noisey or undesirable thus causing what typically amounts to unnecessary anxiety. I stayed in a 2518 on my last cruise, supposedly noisey due to being under Diversions, and I heard nary a peep from above. A little girl next door was all I heard.

There probably are some noise issues with some rooms, but I think these lists are made by looking at a ship's map and not from good research or experience, and I'd personally prefer to have no information than bad or false information.

PS For the record, I chose to be under Diversions for my next cruise vs mid-ship as I liked being far forward. The first time I was there, it was because my room was a GTY and not by choice. This time, it's by choice.

We were in 2520 -- next to Sam's room. (But not at the same time. :) ) I would book it again. After the first night, it was very quiet. And I do think the first night was only noisy because they were loading luggage late because of the hrricane -- they'd usually load it when everyone was eating and partying. :)

The nice thing about our cabin was there was almost no hall noise.

We were in a "noisy" room in August. It was a wonderful room, and I have requested it already for several future cruises!!! The noise was minimal.......early morning due to anchoring on port days. But there were other secret benefits that were well worth the very minimal noise.......

Just returned from the Magic in cabins 2581 and 2579. My cabins were across the ship from the one you booked. We never heard any noise above the cabin and only heard the occasional wake up call between cabins. Our cruise was fully booked. There is some very small noise from below which I think was either minor engine noise or possibly environmental machinery. We had a great time without any noise issues. Have a great trip.

What is Daves sight???? I want to find out if I'm in a noisy room!!!! 2630 on wonder!

I always stay in 2086 or 2088 and have friends that stayed in 2084 and 2090. None of us have ever had any problems with noise.

I alway's take a fan with me on Vacation and Cruises, it blocks out a lot of the noise and I love the hummmm.:p

I was in "noisy" cabin 2504 in February and it was as quiet as can be. It was a wonderful bigger cat. 9 room and I wouldn't hesitate to stay in it again! The only noise we heard was the anchor being lowered when we were in port. Have a wonderful cruise!

we stayed in room 2080 a few cruises ago and didn't have any noise problem at all. It was very quiet and its a convenient room when going to meals on deck 3. It is also convenient when arriving at port, only have to go down one deck.

anyone stayed in cabin 2000? I'd think it would be pretty quite since its the first cabin. Please tell me it's not so bad!!
