We sailed on the Dream on Sept. 10th (1st time concierge) and could not believe that there was a cabana still available on the morning of our Castaway Cay day. We weren't originally going to spend the $$$$ on it and never tried to book one. The host told us about it early that morning and we mulled it over and felt like we had to take it or risk some kind of bad luck Karma. We paid for it around 9:30 and got out there around 10:00. It was lovely!

I was wondering how often this may happen and if anyone else ever picked one up after they has all been booked at 120 days out?

It happens in Concierge. We were cruising with my father in 2016. Little did we know there would be problems at the time we booked, but his hip was destroyed (bone on bone) by the time cruise time came up. He was barely able to walk to dinner and back each day and wasn't sure why he hurt so badly. It was miserable for him. We had booked a cabana at 125 days out but didn't know until the day before Castaway Cay that we wouldn't be going ashore that day. We talked to Concierge and they told us that they would check the waiting list. The said that they had guests in Concierge who had asked about getting a cabana. The only sticking point was that we had one on Serenity Bay and they didn't know if the others would prefer a family beach cabana. Within an hour our Concierge host told us it had been taken off of our hands and that there would be no charge. I don't know if somebody moved to Serenity Bay so that the other group could get a family cabana, or if the people who were looking for one just took what they could get, but the magic happened for them. Concierge has a way of making things happen for people in so many ways.

We have been onboard 3 different times ( not concierge) and scored one after putting our name on the waitlist.

I have also gotten a few before the cruise by stalking the website day and night.

Ok wow! That's great! It's good to know it's not completely out of the question once they all get booked up.

What number did you get?

On our last cruise earlier this year, there were 2 cabanas that went unassigned and were empty while we were on CC.

I had a cabana booked on my upcoming cruise and decided the cost wasn't worth it for us and coordinated with someone else on the cruise to grab it when I dropped it. So people definitely do cancel and that's awesome you were able to get it! Enjoy your cruise!
