I liked Seth if both my DS's were boys (which they obviously were!), but DH didn't. I did keep throwing it into the mix every now and again, but he kept saying no. As it was, he had named Luke before I had even come round from the anaesthetic, even though we had more or less decided on Luke for a boy, I would have liked to have been awake for it. I came around to the nurse doing skin-to-skin with him, and she said 'This is Luke', and I thought 'Oh, I've had a boy then!' Just keep working on him Anna, they sometimes weaken.

They can come around, it's true. The actual "day" is the time a new Dad is at his weakest too
When we were expecting our first we had loads of boys names picked out and only one girls name (Anna) and we had a girl - when they were "sorting me out" after my c-section, DH was holding her right next to me and said "what about Abigail" and I said "no, there was a scabi Abbie at school, she would always remind me of that" so he said [through his sobs]"Anna it is then, to be honest, I don't really care, she's healthy - that's all that matters".
When we were expecting again we got both lists down to about five each.
Another girl! Yippee, it took us a week to narrow it down to Poppy and Kitty.
Poppy won (she was and is v. tall and slim with red hair) after another week - it drove our families mad that she wasn't named for almost two weeks.
We couldn't imagine either of them being called anything else. It may come to you on the day when you see him
