We Eight, Ate And Ate! Our Thanksgiving 2009 DxDP! Updated 12/22 Boma!

Your Thanksgiving dinner sounds delightful!!! YUMMY!!! Thanks for the great pictures and great review!!

Thank you for reading... glad I haven't scared anyone away with my "odd" humor. :rotfl2:

LOVE the water pic! :rotfl:

She would just kill me if she knew... :lmao::lmao: Her eyes were so big... she thought she ordered it that big. She still doesn't really get the whole thing. She had her hearing aide out because of the noise level and so she just knew we were all laughing about something. :rotfl2:

I really don't like food touching... so there you QUOTE]

OMG! I don't like my food to touch either! Every one's like it's going to the same place, but I don't care, I don't want my food to touch! Now i have gotten a bit adventurous lately. I used to eat each item one at a time....for example if I had turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes on my plate I would eat all of the turkey first, then the stuffing, and then the mashed potatoes, rotating my plate as I finished each item. I have gotten WAY better about that. I'm a big girl now!

That is sooooo funny! I guess I am not yet a big girl... well I am in size... :rotfl2: but not in food eating. I still only eat one thing at a time... and if I switch to another section, my partner will say, "I see you don't like the ______." :sad2: And at potlucks etc, I only get a little bit of everything and if I do happen to like something, I make sure to get 2nds in that exact same spot! :lmao:

Hey... I think we have almost cruised together once! I was on the KK2 cruise with Rob and Cass and them.

I knew your user name looked familiar for a reason!! :goodvibes Yes we had to pass on that cruise but Cass and Rob are two of the nicest people we've never cruised with! :lmao:

Cass and Rob and little Kira are a wonderful little family. We didn't get to spend much time with them as we were on a different dining etc. But I think I know her well from her trip reports etc. :thumbsup2

Wasn't the little stowaway a part of your family? I recall pictures being taken with something... even on excursions....

Did you go on the Bobers cruise? There's always the next one or one after. Perhaps we will meet one day!

I'm enjoying your reviews and pics very much; looking forward to the rest!

Thank you so much! :yay: I'm grateful to have some readers. I'm hoping to get the Rose and Crown done this afternoon/evening.... I have to work :scared1: and since I will be primarily in meetings... I can't :surfweb: dis which is very sad. :sad2:

We met up with Cass and Rob and Kira on purpose one night in Epcot and on accident a few days later if that's what you're referring to. Or are you thinking of the Plankton-fad we started with the travel mascot who has no business being at WDW? :rotfl2:

My husband and I have cruised with some of them in the past and have met others of them on land at WDW and other places. We've scheduled two cruises with their group and have had to cancel twice for various reasons ... but we always try to meet up at WDW if we're there at the same time.

Good people. :goodvibes

I don't want to re-direct your thread so I'll just say I'm enjoying what you've posted so far and am looking forward to the rest. That picture of your aunt, by the way ... :rotfl2: ... terrific!

Awesome reviews! Count me in for the rest of the ride

Hey there... got a great idea! You can ditch them and I will go with you and then I can get a picture of the menu and someone actually at the restaurant! You in? :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2

I love the look on your aunts face with her bucket o water! :rotfl:

AWESOME photos! Totally enjoying your dining reviews!:goofy:

Thank you very much! Do they make you hungry? Everytime I read someone's report i get soooo hungry. :lmao:

Great reviews so far! Can't wait for the rest!

Thank you and glad to see you here. I am uploading Rose and Crown as I speak...umm..type I mean! :surfweb:

Awesome reviews! Count me in for the rest of the ride

Awww thank you! I'm hoping I have learned a thing or two from reading your reports! :teacher:

YES it was Plankton! I could not for the life of me think of his name. I saw him in person you know! :rotfl:

Thanks again for reading!

:thumbsup2

Oh me too! Her eyes get HUGE when she is surprised! :rotfl2: Near the end of the meal, she said, "Gag! This is a lot of water, I hope she doesn't think I could drink all this." We all just laughed at her.:rotfl:

Friday we headed over to Epcot because it was our lunch reservation for Rose and Crown. Our reservation time was 12:20 but we were starving! :scared1: How could I even say that after all the food we had the night before, but, we all were. In fact, after waiting in a HUGE line to check in, we were given a pager and went and sat on a bench and watched a family eat their PB&J's and felt sandwich envy. :sad2:

Finally we were called and it was 12:20 so it wasn't like we waited forever... even though it felt like that....especially to the little kids that had 8 adults staring at their every bite of sandwich. :lmao:

For appetizers I ordered Butter-poached Shrimp - with a Barley Risotto $9.99.

DSCN4417.jpg

Mary, CK1 and Uncle ordered Potato & Leek Soup - Roasted potatoes, cream and leeks. - $5.49

DSCN4422-1.jpg

Mary immediately gave her biscuit and butter to T2 as he once again ordered only for the rest of us.... he ordered Scotch Egg - Golden-fried Hard-boiled Egg wrapped in Sausage Meat with Mustard Sauce $8.99

DSCN4420.jpg

T1 and CK2 ordered Mixed Greens - with warm Bread Croutons, crispy Bacon, Roasted Onions, Irish Cheddar, and warm Bacon Vinaigrette $5.99

DSCN4419.jpg

Auntie ordered Apple and Stilton Salad - Mixed Greens tossed with Candied Walnuts, Apples, English Stilton Cheese, and Cranberry Vinaigrette $7.99

DSCN4421-1.jpg

Ok... here's where it gets confusing a little... stay with me here. Mary did not like her soup but did not want to say that... so she asked if I wanted a bite and I said yes because I had never had barley before and it tasted similar to real oatmeal or something in texture and i didn't like it a bit. I had ate the shrimp out.. ONLY 2 of them! So I said sure and passed her my plate. Then we tasted the Scotch egg and passed that around the table and it was by far the best appetizer believe it or not. So then no one wanted to taste either salad because it was well, salad. So then I ended up keeping Mary's soup and she kept my barley which she loves :confused3 and then somehow CK1 ended up with 2 salads as well in front of him and to make himself not look like a pig he dumped them on the same plate. When our waitress came back she asked if she had given the wrong people their food and we just laughed and said, "No, you were fine. The plate is always better on the other side." She said, "Ohhhh, one of those families are ye?"

So... I liked the soup and salads just fine but the Scotch egg was the best! :thumbsup2

Now for the entrees... should be a little easier I would think.

Myself, CK2, CK1, & T1 all had Fish and Chips - Battered fresh Cod served with English Chips $15.99

DSCN4427-1.jpg

This was as we expected it to be and the only trading off the plates ended up being that all the boys did not like tartar sauce and stuck all theirs by my plate so I look like I liked a bit of fish to go along with my tartar sauce. :rotfl2:

Mary had Bangers and Mash - Traditional English Sausages with Braised Cabbage and Bacon served with Mashed Potatoes and Shallot Gravy $15.99

DSCN4423-1.jpg

Mary did not like the sausage and gave everyone a nice sized bite to get rid of it. We all liked it just fine so I guess it just wasn't her thing. She did love the cabbage and potatoes and would have loved a bit more of just those.

T2 had a cheeseburger which is not on the menu. We asked for it to be just cheese and meat as Mr. Picky will not eat anything else on it. :confused3

DSCN4425-1.jpg

It came with mustard on it. :scared1::scared1: So we kindly asked the waitress to bring us another top bun to resolve this situation. He liked it just fine. None of us ate any of it... Although Uncle ate his bun and dipped it in his meal... so on to Uncle apparantly...

Uncle ordered Cottage Pie - Ground Beef with Onions, Carrots, and Green Peas topped with Duchess Potatoes $18.99

DSCN4424-1.jpg

He said this needed bread to go along with it (yes, he had bread alongside his soup :rolleyes1 Just saying...) but that it tasted like tater tot casserole. Not sure that will help any of you but it is pretty good and we eat it in our family at times. Regardless, he did not share with any of us. :lmao:

Aunt had Chicken and Mushroom Pie - Creamy Wild Mushrooms and Chicken Ragoût topped with Puff Pastry $16.99

DSCN4426-1.jpg

This was very good. I would go and order it myself sometime even. We all tasted it except for the T's as they do not do mushrooms. :lmao:

Now if you recall, CK1 ate the remaining 3 salads as well as his soup and bread, some of the Scotch egg, a couple bites of the barley, a bite of the mushroom pie, a bite of sausage and potatoes and cabbage and well...Got FULL! So he only ate 1/2 of his fish and Auntie and Uncle finished it up for him.

Best add the dessert pics on the Next Post... I don't recall how many you can put on one post and i might just be pushing it a little.....

Ok... by now you know already that we WILL order and EAT our desserts... so let's get this show on the road shall we?

CK1 and Myself ordered Chocolate Scotch Cake - with Chocolate Filling and Scotch Ganache served with Creme Anglaise $5.99

DSCN4429-1.jpg

Mary, Auntie & Uncle ordered Sticky Toffee Pudding $4.99

DSCN4433-1.jpg

CK2 ordered Bakewell Tart $5.49

DSCN4428-1.jpg

T1 & T2 ordered Lemon Pie $5.49

DSCN4431-1.jpg

CK2 said his was not that great.. he ate the fruit stuff next to it but he thought it would be a tart..

The T- boys liked their lemon pie just fine.. it was not key lime intense, just lemony.

CK1 loved the Chocolate scotch cake.. and so should I since I am a lover of all things chocolate... but I did not.

Mary looked at my cake and asked for a bite which was a sure sign that she did not like hers. I obliged and then we both took a second bite and then a third... and not wanting each other to get stuck with what we both thought was the lesser dessert we tentively asked which each liked best and were delighted to learn that this was a complete trade yet again!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

We sat for a while (our table was right next to the pub part) and watched the swinging door swing back and hit people in the backside and watch them flip around to see who did that. :lmao::lmao: Uncle was closest and it did make him a little uncomfortable and thus GUILTY looking!

Finally, the check was settled and we all began to roll out the door in our stuffed state. When from the back of the group I hear, "Where we going to eat tonight Susie?" Looking back at CK1, I realized that this Thanksgiving I was very grateful to not be cooking for our brood!

"O'hana!" I declared. "And then Wishes from the beach!"

UP next Ohana, a first visit for all of us!

I'm standing in the kitchen laughing out loud and the kids (trying to watch Ice Age) keep looking at me funny. :rotfl2: Your reviews are hilarious! I would have loved a picture of Uncle and the swinging door. :lmao:

I can't wait for more. And I hope your experience at 'Ohana's was better than ours!!!!

I do the same thing... my family thinks I am a lunatic and that I laugh at people I don't know like they are my friends or something!

Let me also add this little niblet of information in here... Uncle.. well, he is a Nazarene minister and he always gets those pervert looks because of things we tell him to do. :rolleyes1

"Tell that lady to try the Beverly"
"You should ask that woman if she wants a picture of her and her daughters together."
"Look at that lady right there... I think she is crying"
"Is that lady lost do you think?"
"This paper fell out of that ladys pocket when she bent over"

:rolleyes1 But then we he acts on it... we all dissapear! :scared1: It's bad enough for him as it is to be traveling and staying with my partner and I, but the whole gang gets right in on the act as well. :grouphug:

As for O'hana... well wait till you hear what happens to Uncle there!

Hey... I think we have almost cruised together once! I was on the KK2 cruise with Rob and Cass and them.

Hiya Susan,

As promised, I'm checking in on your TR too. :goodvibes I didn't know you were on KK2 with us!! You should've joined in on the fun on the cruise meets thread before we left. I would've loved to stop and chat with you since we didn't really get to on the KK1 cruise. :sad1:

But, I'm loving the pictures of not only all that yummy looking food (which, btw...I had to put on the old elastic pants just to look at all those pictures) but also of the MK! Loved the castle pictures. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

(Hi Bendy!!)

The running joke in my family is that I am not a big girl. I don't order 'big girl meals' when we go out. I always get sandwiches and soups and salads.

Oh gosh... I am all confused now....I was on the KK1 cruise I guess but wasn't that the 2nd cruise for some of them? And this last one was the 3rd and BOBers one? :scared1:

Thanks for reading and I am glad you liked my HUGE pictures... I only seem to know how to make them thumbnails or HUGE. :confused3
