gravy over your eggs? really? I thought they had lost their mind! maybe it a regional type of food. I had never heard of it!

thank you for taking the time and the photos of your trip to the House of the Mouse...Last year we were a group of 7 and stayed at POP...we were not happy with the choices for lunch and dinners....so this year (may 11th- 18th) we went to All Star Music.. The food options were fantastic. Breakfast like you said..they cant mess up to much..ALSO the french fries at Music were almost made in front of us...burnt my tongue...
We also opted no dining plan but did have a few reservations this time...loved being on our own time and schedule.

Thanks so much for your great photos...and also tell your daughter that the mac and cheese at Aoa looked amazing..

I have stayed at Music before and agree...the food choice was better. Unfortunatley I like the POP resort theming/layout better. I'll probably be back to POP in the future regardless of the terrible food. As long as I can walk over to AOA I should be fine!

I'm so upset about the new menu at POP. When I was reading the menu it sounded great but I've heard nothing but bad things Hopefully they will fix this soon - at least by the end of Sept. when I'm there Thank you for the reviews!

I agree about the DDP; we did it a few years ago and didn't like being tied to ADR's each day so for our trip this year we're sticking to QS.

I've actually been running numbers on QSDP and it seems like it may be worth it but I'm not sure yet. I appreciate that you included the costs of your meals also; that will help.

yea, I really liked not being on the dining plan. I didn't add it up to see if I saved/lost by not using it....I suspect it may have been a bit cheaper using the qsdp but me and DD usually ate 3 meals a day...not 2. I would have eaten differently, though, had I had the qsdp. I may have forced us to use a snack credit on muffins as breakfast (therefor no mickey waffles...sad thought), and I'm sure I'd always be trying to find the most expensive item on the menu to get my "moneys worth" from the dining plan. that actually prohibits me from eating what I WANT to eat... It's all a mental thing, I know... just a lot different not on the plan and I liked it!

time for the ugly...the most disasterous meal of the trip... POP food court for dinner. I know, I will never learn, but come on! surely not EVERY meal there is bad, right? this one was just plain terrible!

DD got the nasty mac and cheese again although i tried to talk her out of it remiding her of the nastiness of last time. she apparently has a short term memory and she paid for it.

even worse than last time. more burnt...more crunch mac... less creamy mac underneath. pretty sure this tray of mac and cheese was under a heat lamp from a month ago. just plain gross. poor DD... her dinner ended up being yogurt and pudding, which by now she was sick of! a few more options other than yogurt, cookie, pudding, grapes, or carrots please!

I got the shrimp and grits thinking, mmm...cheesy grits and shrimp. 2 good things that should be good together. oh my, this was the worst dish of the trip. just plain wrong...



I gave you 3 pics to make sure you could see how disgusting this meal was. I waited 5 minutes and thought, great! it will be fresh! it came in a chinese box and I knew there was trouble when I opened it. that red liquid stuff that the shrimp is swimmin in? that is GREASE. yes, my shrimp was in a gigantic bath of grease. the cheese grits were buried under the 1/2 inch thick bath of grease. I pulled up some of the grits on the spoon for you to see. this was simply inedible. the bacony greasy stuff was just gross. This was seriously the worst tasting dish ever. I had a stomachache after only a few bites. It looked gross, it smelled gross, it tasted gross! want a heart attack and indigestion? look no farther! YUCK!

Total cost: $19.15 in cash and an hour of a tummy ache... worst money I spent the entire trip...

I don't know what that is...but it is the furthest thing from Shrimp & Grits that I've ever seen and I've had my fair share of S&G! EWWW!

Not sure how much you enjoyed your dining, but the mac 'n cheese looks the most appetizing. Your DD is adorable.
