We dealt with the SPIDERS...what will it be this year?

At such a difficult time you should absolutely do what feels "right". It would be wonderful if your dad decided to join you but I understand his apprehension with the heat!

We are thrilled you're still going, so we finally get to officially meet. :) Looking forward to our breakfast and hoping we can maybe spend some time at the park afterward too :goodvibes

I think it would be great but if he doesn't come with us we're going to try and talk him into going to Toronto to see his nieces and nephews that weren't able to make it out here.

We would love to spend some time in the park with you after breakfast:goodvibesi still can't believe we're going to actually meet after all this time, it feels like I have know you guys forever:hug:

We are enjoying having our family here (we have family here from coast to coast) and are finding comfort in that. We have laughed and cries but the laughter far outweighs the cries....and that is exactly how our mom would have wanted it! Memories are a beautiful thing and no one can take those away from us:thumbsup2

Geez, ya just brought a tear to my eye! So pleased that you and your family can find comfort in each other as well as your memories of your mother.

 Ya know, I only follow two TRs/PTRs (Three when Nebo starts his up again) and here you're all meeting! I wanna go too! :goodvibes (would if I could, too! :))

Hi guys!!:wave2:

I am so glad that you all have family in, and are sharing in the wonderful memories!!:goodvibes I can understand the apprehension about your Dad going to WDW with you guys...it sure does get hot, doesn't it!!! LOL Toronto would be fantastic too! I too agree that continuing on with your plans will be a great refresher for you all!!

I too wanted to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you for your support and love over the past few weeks!:grouphug:

With the support of our family we are still going to be heading down to WDW on August 21 so we will be continuing with our PTR! We all sat and talked about it and everyone together decided it was the right thing to do....and mom made it very clear that we better still be going:rotfl2: She was a wonderful lady in everyway! We are now trying to talk our dad into coming with us but it's so hot he's not sure yet. I know 3 granddaughters who would love nothing more than to have their grandpa with them but we will see.

Once again, look for a post after Wednesday! Thank you again and love to all.:grouphug:

Queen, I lost my dad six years ago and my Mom 3 years ago - both times DH PURPOSELY took me to WDW for a long weekend shortly afterwards. He said he wanted to cheer me up and couldn't think of a better way to do it. Anyhoo - the moral of my story is - follow your heart - it always knows what's best for you. (Getting off my soapbox now - oh, darn it! I just tripped!):rolleyes1

I am so sorry to hear this news and so sad for your loss...It is comforting to know that you were all able to be there to spend time with her at that moment...

It sounds like a great decision to continue with your trip...especially when she made it clear you better still go :goodvibes

It is good to hear that the laughter and memories are surrounding your family. The day after my Mom passed we jumped on a plane and headed for Calif-Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park. It was the right thing to do. People grieve in different ways. Shame on anyone who judges. Hurray for the continued PTR

Just an FYI, my friend has changed her mind and she is on board with us going to WDW. I'm excited and trying to think how am I ever going to get everything done I need to but I'll have fun doing it!

Queen I am glad that all your family are helping you and that the laughs are outweighing the cries hun  You are soo right in that no one can take your memories from you :thumbsup2

I am very happy to read that your trip is still going ahead and I think you should just ignore the people that are not happy with your decision. I hope you manage to talk your dad into coming with you.

Peg - how cool that your friend is coming with you! :cool1: Sounds like this is going to be an amazing trip - can't wait to read all about it!

Ladies,
Glad to hear you are still going on the trip. That will be just what you need! And I bet you get all kinds of *magic* sprinkled throughout the trip and that will be your mom watching over you. Hope your dad decides to go as well, it will be nice to have everyone together for the nice long trip. (it was more than a week right? lol I can't remember now!)

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. :sad1: But hooray for still going to Disney World...not too much longer now!

I completely agree with Geodoc!
:grouphug:

Me too!!!:cool1:

Geez, ya just brought a tear to my eye! So pleased that you and your family can find comfort in each other as well as your memories of your mother.

We have laughed a lot this past week reminicing ... it's really been wonderful!

That would be great if you guys could be there! Maybe a lottery win is in your future:rolleyes1 Wouldn't that be nice?

We are exciting about going that's for sure! It will be a welcome change to all the ups and downs we've been through these past few weeks!

I love it! Your DH did a wonderful thing for you by taking you...there is nothing better than our happy place is there?

LOL...be careful, those soapboxes can be dangerous things:rotfl2: Trust me, I've been on one or two in my days (I'm sure Peg will have a comment about that statement ):rolleyes1

I agree....grieving is so personal and individual! We are looking forward to our time together as a family!

Just an FYI, my friend has changed her mind and she is on board with us going to WDW. I'm excited and trying to think how am I ever going to get everything done I need to but I'll have fun doing it!

Can't wait for you to pick me up....we'll get a lot accomplished today! You may want to hurt me by the end of the day, but we'll get a lot done:rotfl2:

Exciting news Peg : ) Its nice to have a little happy news

Not sure where Peg has been, oh yeah, house full of company that's it:rotfl2: Happy news is great isn't it:hug:

Thinks are starting to slow down now, most of our family/company left yesterday! It felt kinda weird to have such a quiet house yesterday, but I took full advantage of getting it all cleaned, bed changed etc...now I won't have so much to do before we leave!

Hey Doll!

I know our mom will be with us and that brings us great joy:goodvibes

And yes, we leave on Aug 21 come home on Sep 3 so it's 13 nights all together! :cool1:

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. :sad1: But hooray for still going to Disney World...not too much longer now!

Thanks sweetie:goodvibes Not long at all, gotta get my butt in gear!!:rotfl2:

Yay for still going to Disney World!!! I'll have to get some of your info for when you are down here!!! :)

Isn't it great:goodvibes Jasmine will have her blackberry with her so I can give you her phone number so you can text her if that works. Let me know and I will PM you! It costs a fortune for her to go on FB down there so that won't be happening!

Good morning friends:grouphug:

Well here we are 16 days away from leaving and I have officially entered the panic stage! I have been going over lists, making new ones, scratching things out, adding things :confused3 t's about time to just get started.

I went through all the toiletries and put them in ziploc bags in case they leak! I pretty much know what we're both taking for clothes, but there are still a few things I want to look for:rolleyes1 Isn't that always the way? I know for a fact we are each only take one suitcases plus a carry on.

Jasmine found out yesterday that she works 145 - 945 the day before we leave so she was pretty bummed about that! We have a tradition of having dinner with everyone the night before we leave at our favorite steakhouse, but we may have to do that on Friday now! The good thing though is that she will still be able to get her mani/pedi and hair cut done because they are all scheduled for 9am on that day!

She is at work everyday this weekend so not a lot will be happening around here. Next weekend she is off so we will be up and out first thing Saturday morning. I have a hair appt at 9am and then we'll hit Wal-mart and some clothing stores! After that, we'll head home, get the suitcases out and I'll start packing what I can.

I usually take the day off before we leave but that's not happening this year...but the good thing is I get off at 430 that day so will be home by 515pm. I figure once we're home from dinner I'll get any last minute housework things out of the way, get an early night because I'm not sure how much sleep I'll get Saturday night. We will probably get picked up at 345am as we have to be at the airport by 4am:scared1:

Our dad decided he's just going to stay home. He said it's too soon after our mom's death to leave and he wants some time to get things organized at their house so a few of my friends have said they will check in on him, have him over for dinner, take him out for coffee, so we know he'll be well looked after. He said "oh for heaven sakes, it's only 3 weeks", I said "no dad, it's 13 days...he laughed he said "you'll be home in no time then". He's just the best!

I will pop back on here tonight and let you know what I accomplished today!!

Good morning friends:grouphug:

Mmmm.... Keg...

Actuallly, I kinda chuckled at that. How many readers on the Dis can say they can get from home to airport in 15 minutes?

Our dad decided he's just going to stay home. He said it's too soon after our mom's death to leave and he wants some time to get things organized at their house...

That's too bad, but totally understandable.

He said "oh for heaven sakes, it's only 3 weeks", I said "no dad, it's 13 days...he laughed he said "you'll be home in no time then". He's just the best!

Yup! Dad's are the best! :rolleyes1

LOVE the bag! I'm thinking that might be one of my next purchases for my trip! Those clothes are so cute! I especially love her dress for the wedding! I agree with you! I know that whatever happens to me is God's plan, and in the end, he has some good things in store for me! :) I'll have to take pictures of everything I bought at Ikea! It really does suck you in! I think the main thing that does it is the prices! Everything is so darn cheap and the quality is really good! For instance, I bought chip clips for $1.50, a trash can for $2, and a pack of bowls for $1.50! I think total I spent $35 and I got a big Ikea bag full of stuff! I wish I would of had more time at Ikea! I didn't get down there till 7:30 and they closed at 9, so I didn't get to look at everything I needed too :( I was trying to find small ways to use Disney stuff in my dorm room and one of the things I'm doing is I am taking my Magic Kingdom map and framing it! I am obsessed with mac makeup! It's just so stinking expensive! I just placed an order with smashbox, so i'll be putting those pictures up on my tr! I am SO sorry for your loss  My thoughts are with you in this hard time :(

Hi Queen! I am excited for you that you have started to organize your packing!!! Kyle won't let me start packing too early...lol he just doesn't understand!! It's too bad Jas has to work the night before, but great that she has the morning off to get her stuff done!! I love your dinner tradition, I hope you guys can do it on the Friday!! Next weekend sounds really exciting for you guys~shopping and packing!!! I can understand your Dad wanting to stay at home! You made me chuckle when you posted what he said!! He sounds like a fantastic person!!

:wave2:

Mmmm.... Keg...

You bet! Lobster summer is on:cool1:

Actuallly, I kinda chuckled at that. How many readers on the Dis can say they can get from home to airport in 15 minutes?

That's funny you say that because as I was typing I thought the same thing:)

That's too bad, but totally understandable.

I think if we had a Nov/Dec trip planned we could easily have talked him into going :)

Yup! Dad's are the best! :rolleyes1

You will get no argument with that from me:worship:

I can't wait for Ikea to open here!:cool1: I will be there on opening day for sure. Mac makeup is expensive, I know Jasmine also likes Sephora!

Thank you again for your kind words!:)

Tiff!!! I first of all want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart! When we got to the graveside part of the funeral, Jas looked at me with tears in her eyes and said "Mom, Tiff's here", it took me every ounce of strength not to burst into tears. The fact that you took time to come halfway across the city to be with us meant more to us than you will ever know:hug::hug::hug:

So we have to work on Kyle do we:lmao: I was thinking we could always hit The Keg at 10pm...that would certainly help pass the last part of the evening before we have to shower and get ready:lmao: I'm not sure how Peg would feel about her girls not getting to bed though:rolleyes1

Our dad is truly one of a kind! We have always been super close and Jasmine has the most amazing relationship with him! She adores her grandpa more than anything:lovestruc

Thank you again my friend....you truly made my day:hug:
