We dealt with the SPIDERS...what will it be this year?

Thanks Kathy:hug:we sure appreciate it! Yes the purpose of IOA is for Harry Potter, we are huge HP fans. We're not sure how we'll do all day with the heat but we'll do what we can do!

No we hadn't thought of that....can you suggest a good one?:worship:[/COLOR]

See, we aren't Potter fans so we can skip it.

We love Emeril's -- but it is expensive. The Bubba Gump Shrimp place gets rave reviews, and we enjoyed Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville.

Hope you don't mind me chiming in on the food options at UO!

We love Bubba Gump's. Fun place to be at - the waiters really get into it and the food is pretty good.
And we have always enjoyed the restaurants at the Royal Pacific hotel (they are only a boat ride away!) - but we weren't overwhelmed with the once at the Portofino! (Overpriced and not really as Italian as you would want them to be - sorry but we go to Italy on a regular basis)
If you want to dine inside the parks - we have been a huge fan of Mythos, but haven't been seen 2006, so things could have changed - Bubba is keeping us hostage - can't walk past! ;) (There are photos of Bubba food in last year's trip report and the one of 2009 as well)

Hope everything goes well with the procedure!! I will make sure to say lots of prayers  My grandma (my mom's mom) was the same way a few years ago when she fell very ill she insisted we go on the trip and was very happy when we called her with updates during our vacation :goodvibes

Hoping all goes well with your Mom's procedure and I agree, we don't want to have our mothers angry with us-NOT a pleasant thing at all.

Thinking of you all...

Hi Queen! I will be praying that the procedure is successful for your mom!

As you know we have been to US & IOA lots! Abby's first visit was when she had just turned 3, and the last time was last Sept/Oct, she was 7 and meeting the 48 inch height requirements. She still had tons to do there! (off the top of my head the only things she wasn't tall enough for in IOA was Dragon Challenge, The Hulk & Dr. Dooms fearfall.) She loves it there, and is disapointed that we probably won't be going there this upcomming trip! As for the HP area, it is crowded, but soooooo fantastic!! The FJ ride is great, but a lot of people have motion sickness problems with it. Kyle, who normally gets sick on a lot of rides, was fine! He took a ginger pill before we put our bags into a locker (you can't bring anything on the ride with you), and we had about a 70 minute wait, and he was fine! If you have any more questions let me know!! You guys will love it over there! So much fun!

I thought Discovery Cove sounded like a nice idea. For a minute, I thought you were going to plan a special aunt-niece Discovery Cove day while everyone else was at IOA. I can understand the allure of Harry Potter, though. That place looks cool. :thumbsup2

Hey, even if it's busy, we'll make the best of it:cool1: I haven't finalized the day with my sister, but it's really the only flip in days we could do....so yes...we'll be there on the 28th!!:cool1:
Maybe we'll meet up in IOA, then! I admire your ability to NOT plan your dinner that night! We also have no idea what we're doing (probably CS at POR when we get back) for food that night and it's driving me crazy!!

Hey Queen! Hoping everything goes ok with your mom.

I will be interested to see how you enjoy IOA. Discovery Cove would have been nice too though.;)

I used to watch Emeril all the time on the food network! I think we'll just have to give one of these a try...after a long hot day I think a margarita might be in my future too!!

Hope you don't mind me chiming in on the food options at UO!

Thanks Karin....I think I am now sold on Bubba Gump! I am going to spend this evening looking at your past trip reports:thumbsup2 Thanks for the info:cool1:

Thanks Shannon:hug: Whenever we go to WDW we usually call my parents every night to check in...they do love hearing about our days and what we've been up too! Peg and Geodoc took my parents for a vacation there in 2004 when SW was only 3 so they at least got to experience the magic for themselves too!

Hoping all goes well with your Mom's procedure and I agree, we don't want to have our mothers angry with us-NOT a pleasant thing at all.

Thinking of you all...

Thank you my friend:hug: ...and you're right...there is nothing worse than an angry mother:lmao:

Thank you again so much Tiff...sure do appreciate it:hug: That is so good to hear! I think the kids are really looking forward to spending the day there and the only thing I'm really concerned about is the heat as we won't be heading back to thehotel for an afternoon break...Thanks for all the info....sure does help!

I thought Discovery Cove sounded like a nice idea. For a minute, I thought you were going to plan a special aunt-niece Discovery Cove day while everyone else was at IOA. I can understand the allure of Harry Potter, though. That place looks cool. :thumbsup2

I think if we had first offered DC without a mention of IOA it would have been a go...but I can see where rides are much more appealing although the girls do love a pool:lmao:

Maybe we'll meet up in IOA, then! I admire your ability to NOT plan your dinner that night! We also have no idea what we're doing (probably CS at POR when we get back) for food that night and it's driving me crazy!!

That would be awesome if we could do that! We'll have to try and make a plan! I think by the time we get on the plane I will have a plan for dinner than evening;)I don't think I can help myself:lmao:

Hey Queen! Hoping everything goes ok with your mom.

I will be interested to see how you enjoy IOA. Discovery Cove would have been nice too though.;)

Thank you my friend:hug:

We last visited IOA and Discovery Cove in 2002 when Jasmine was 10:rolleyes1where has the time gone? We LOVED Discovery Cove and I would have no problem picking that over IOA but I guess I can't be selfish and I certainly don't want to spend the day my myself....they would ditch me, I just know it:lmao:

Hi everyone! I forgot to tell you all something very important! Last Thursday I came down with some kind of throat/chest/sinus virus and was feeling generally unwell....and not able to see my mom:sad2: Can't chance an infection so we stayed away. The first day I thought maybe strep but turned out the "razor blades in the throat" feeling only lasted 48 hours. :lmao: On Saturday, Jasmine and I were talking about what we would do on Sunday....couldn't see her grandma, Jeff was working...what oh what were we gonna do......

If you guessed day-trip-to-the-USA you would be bang on!! We got up and were backing out of the driveway at 9am sharp, stopped and filled up with gas and Jasmine ran next door to Starbucks for her venti black tea lemonade light ice, stopped at Tim Horton's for my coffee and we were on the highway at 940am! No problem at the border, they had all lanes open and we picked the fastest moving lane for once:woohoo:

We decided when we arrived in Grand Forks we would hit Old Navy first! Jasmine did very well in this store...in part to the amazing young lady that was working the dressing room. She was beyond helpful and kept running for sizes for Jasmine....they are a bit different between here and there. Jasmine picked a 4 in everything and nothing fit. They had this great pair of white pants that I think we should have bought and had altered they looked that good on her! But the 4 was too big ... the 0 too small ... and they had no 2. The lovely young lady went and grabbed her a pair of white bermuda shorts that looks great so she bought those along with 3 tops! Great start!

Then it was off to Target! It wasn't as enjoyable as our May trip because it was a Sunday and I think every Canadian that went to the states that weekend was there in the store with us:rotfl2: Jasmine did end up with a cardigan in a mint green and a gorgeous flowy top! Now...she obviously bought other things because the receipt says $86.24:lmao: Ahhh yes, eye liner, mascara, aveeno face cloths, lifesavers (those were mine) and a few other odds and ends.

Then it was off to the mall. Pacsun didn't have anything for her but she did buy Jeff a shirt and then we headed to Bath and Body Works and managed to spend $50 there....which is not hard for either of us!

What did I buy besides the lifesavers....nothing!!! I will be going with my BFF for a couple of days next month or beginning of August. Can't wait for that trip....

Jasmine is much more prepared now for our trip just a few little things to pick up and she's good to go!

So jealous you are able to make such a quick and easy trip south of the border. Yay for great deals....hopefully you can catch up on your next trip.

Hope you are feeling better!:)

That stinks about being sick and not being able to see your mom :( I am going back to visit my mom and step-dad in two weeks and me and mom are taking a few days off and going shopping! I'm so excited! Make sure to check my ptr and my facebook, cause I will be posting pics!!! Tell Jasmine hi for the thousandth time :)

This has been the worst season for sinuses! I'm sorry you weren't feeling well but glad you were able to get an enjoyable day anyway :)

But how do you leave Target empty handed :confused3 Dale would probably be eternally greatful if you taught me how to do that

Hi Queen!! I am sorry to hear you were under the weather!! Glad that it didn't last long for you! Very jealous about your trip to Grand Forks!! Hope you guys have a fantastic long weekend!!

Oh no on not feeling well - hope your better now.

Yay on going shopping again and having a really helpful assistant! :thumbsup2

Am glad to hear that Jasmine has most of her purchases sorted. Hope you have a fun trip with your BFF :goodvibes

Hope you are all better and you have been to see your mom!

I love Old Navy...you can pick up some staples for such a great price. And really, is there anything that doesn't look cute on Jasmine? :lmao:

I am always shocked at those Target receipts--what the heck did I buy runs through my mind (and dh's) often after a trip there. :rotfl2:

Sorry to hear you were feeling poorly Queen and couldn't go see your mom.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for Jasmine getting more shopping done for the trip.
