We dealt with the SPIDERS...what will it be this year?

DH always gets it for me when we first get to WS - somewhere in France - I think at an outdoor kiosk - ( I know, I am spoiled - he doesn't remember the name BTW - he says - and I quote - "I always ask for the pomegranate juice champagne thing that my wife likes.")

When we first started travelling to the World we never took a break...we hit the parks first thing in the morning and came back no earlier than 8 or 9 at night...until 2006 when Jasmine and I went in August for the first time....I just couldn't handle the heat and humidity...that's how our p.m. breaks began...and I wouldn't change it for the world!

I love when traditions begin from simple little things like that :) Some of my favorite things I have done in the world were started from really simple things like, "Lets just eat here" or "Lets explore this resort". I think that is another thing I love about Disney :)

Hey Carla!!

I heard it was raining cats and dogs there...here's hoping it stops soon:thumbsup2 So far this week is shaping up to be quite lovely weather wise...we'll keep our fingers crossed!

Hope all is well with all of you...how's the plans coming along for your trip?? I would love to hear all about it!!

Hi again! So happy you are having some lovely weather. :cool1: Here I can't say the same yet, still more rain tonight and it's not looking like the forecast clears up until FRIDAY! Booooo!!!

I don't want to hijack your PTR but I'll give you a brief rundown of our plans, since you asked...and since I'm getting super excited!

Day 1 we arrive at 9am going to POFQ and having a pool day (drinks will be involved I'm sure :cloud9:) then we have an ADR for Raglan Road this night which after reading it's your tradition to go here the first night made me sure I made the right choice! :thumbsup2

Day 2 Epcot day- definitely going to spend a good amount of time in the WS this day- I'll be sure to stop by Canada and pay my homage to your lovely country, not to mention I must have a GGS in your honor as well ;)
I have an ADR for Via Napoli this day but I believe we're going to decide on this one when we get there as the next day we have another ADR for Italian food so...I don't yet about this one

Day 3 Magic Kingdom- this is the day my DS has proclaimed is his day and I must do ALL the rides with him :scared1: and yes, I have a cheese danish from MSB on the list and an ADR for Tony's- again not sure if we'll do this or VN- yes I know VN would be the better of the two but my DS wanted to do Tony's so we'll see I guess. :confused3

The last day :( we are taking the ME back to the airport and renting a car for the day and heading to the beach! I have an aunt and a cousin that lives in the Daytona area so we are meeting up with them and spending the day together. Should be a lovely, relaxing day... then we head to the airport at 9pm that evening and go home. :sad2:

That about covers it! Again, sorry for the hijacking but there it is- the plan!

Hope we hear from you again soon- have a great week!!
:hug:Carla

It must be the same kiosk where the GGS are....maybe I'll order one of each, after all God gave us two hands for a reason;)

You are right on the money sugar! Simple is best....whenever I would ask Jasmine about "favorite times" or "special times" it was never anything that cost money....it was just moments in time!~!

Sounds like a great line up! I would definitely choose VN over Tony's but I get that sometimes it's not all about us:lmao:

I love that you're having a beach day...never been to a beach in Florida:confused3 Hijack all you want hon, I loved hearing about your plans!!

Enjoy your weekend if I don't talk to you before then

ummmmm YUMMO:worship:

:lmao::lmao:Yes you did...I will have another day up tonight...ok, here's my excuse....the Stanley Cup Playoffs are on and that pretty much is mine and Jasmine's lives until June....we're a little on the obsessive side when it comes to hockey!!

Hope you're having a great week!!

Thanks Kathy....I gotta say though I am still bummed about not being able to see all our friends in Sept/Oct...and I keep telling myself to get over it...but it's hard:sad1:

I can't wait to hear if you like to GGS....I tried the Grand Marnier one a couple of years ago and I prefer the GGS...but it's important you know I'm not that fussy:lmao: Hope you had a wonderful Easter!

I am bummed too! I know we can't see EVERY Diser who will be there and we will miss those that will be there just before or just after us. But you and Jasmine were two that we were REALLY hoping to catch on our trip. :sad2:

I will let you know which one I prefer after I try the GGS. :)

I keep thinking "there's always next year"!! That makes it a little better;)

Can't wait to hear what you think!

First I have to share that it was 19 degrees today...gorgeous out....and then I hear the dreaded "S" word on the way home....seriously, snow on Sunday:confused3 I am keeping my fingers crossed they are wrong, but it certainly wouldn't be the first time we've seen snow in May:rolleyes1

I thought I would get another day up before the end of the week...time is just passing so quickly lately! But first, I want to share a story with all of you:hug: We were driving to work last week and Jasmine looked over at me and said "Mom, have you heard about Gowns for Grads?" Sure I've heard of it, when did you hear about it? Apparently she heard them talking about it on the radio on her way to work. There was a few moments of silence as we drove and then she said "I want to donate my grad gown mom"....I was shocked, stunned and proud all at the same time. I knew how much she loved her gown but it a fleeting moment I thought when will she ever wear it again! She then asked me if it was ok....see I paid half for the dress and she paid the other half so she wanted to make sure it was ok with me. Ok....I thought it was a fantastic idea. I almost completely lost it when she said "I know how good I felt that day getting into my dress and I want someone else to feel that way too:sad1: Yup so at that point I was almost blubbering but I held it together best I could. I work in the inner city and I see the poverty that is the worst in Canada and my branch volunteers it's time at two inner city schools and to think that Jasmine was beginning to understand the gift of time and putting others before yourself was a bit overwhelming. I love our kids at these schools and if we can make a day a little better for them why wouldn't we? Ok, getting off my soap box, but for those of you who didn't see Jasmine in her gown on one of my previous reports, I thought you would like to see the gown that will find another beautiful girl to wear it:lovestruc

One of my favorite pictures from the day!

Onto the TR....where will we be on Friday August 26..why AK of course!!:thumbsup2 We usually stop for a photo op for 2 and then head to pick up a stoller for Mini Montana, but not this trip! She'll be seven this trip...no more strollers:banana: We'll skip right by there and head to EE...yup the coveted ride that we all love....ok, maybe love is a strong word....I'm good right up until we start going backwards...I start flailing around grabbing for Jasmine to hold onto and she usually is laughing her head off trying to not let me grab onto her! The difference when we travel with my sis and her family is that I sometimes do these thrill rides with Mini Montana....guess I can't flail with her now can I:rotfl2:
186-1.jpg

When we went in 2009, it was MM first ride, finally tall enough...here is proof...this year it is RNRC that will be the coveted first ride:yay:
196-1.jpg

This is Jasmine tormenting my sister on the ride....how they love each other:rolleyes1

After EE we usually head over to KRR, then onto KS and from there or at some point I need to, have to, must see FOTLK....if no one else wants to go I go alone! This is the one show I cannot miss at AK.

I think we'll then head over to Dinoland and let Jasmine and Snow White do Primevil Whirl, and then we'll all ride Dinosaur! At this point we'll probably call it a day and head for the pool!

I just looked at our notes and I completely missed the part where we're going to be at Tusker House for breakfast .... :rolleyes1 *insert above*:rotfl2:

I'm going to go out on a limb and say for sure Jasmine and I will go to DTD for the evening! I must get in another WPE meal after all! What's that you say...will we get an ice cream at Ghiradellis'....well if you insist;)

You have obviously raised Jasmine to be a caring and compassionate young woman! Those traits can be so rare these days so kudos to you for instilling those values in her :goodvibes I'm sure some lucky girl will be grateful to Jasmine for the wonderful gift of her dress and feel like a Princess when she wears it! :)

Your AK day sounds great! I love the TH breakfast!

I have my fingers crossed that you don't get snow! I know how upset I was when we got snow last month :sad2:

Aw great story

Sounds like a great day at AK! I am jealous of your Tusker House ADR! We wanted to go there on our upcoming trip but nothing was available :sad2:

What the heck is with our weather? 20 today, 2 tomorrow with 5-10cm snow, then 18 by Tuesday????? Somebody somewhere has a really wicked sense of humour... :sad2:

Jasmine looked over at me and said "Mom, have you heard about Gowns for Grads?" ...and then she said "I want to donate my grad gown mom"....

Very nice. DD14 will be there in a few more years, I hope she feels the same way.

Wait... is this the same girl who's donating her gown? :lmao:

Yes I do. ::yes::

:goodvibes

All caught up! The weather sure has been crazy!! So sweet of Jas to want to donate that beautiful gown. She will make some one very happy. Your plans sound great!!

What a remarkable young lady you have raised, Queen. We have that here in the States too and I used to be the chairperson of a Silent Auction/Dinner Dance for the football program and had six dresses that I gave to Gowns for Prom several years ago. It was such a good feeling.

I love your plans for AK day (although I'm not a big fan of EE anymore...the older I get the worse the headache gets after riding that thing).

Wow! What a great idea donating the prom dress! I have a ton of dresses from college formals that I could donate!

Your plans look really great! We have an ADR at Wolfgang Puck Cafe which I'm pretty excited about! The menu looks great IMO!

Thank you Dawn for the kind words...we do our best and hope for the best don't we? You've got a great little gal there too...I can't wait for us all to be together, it feels like old friends getting together:hug: I can't wait to try TH...if I have a choice, I much prefer breakfast to dinner, but when we're in Disney we tend to do more TS at dinner time:confused3

I have my fingers crossed that you don't get snow! I know how upset I was when we got snow last month :sad2:

Someone told me this morning they are calling for up to 10cm :rolleyes1 I am going to get my groceries tonight and then tomorrow if it's yucky out, I'm gonna stay home and read:rolleyes:

Your comments are making me even more excited about TH!!!

I ran to one of the hotdog vendors for lunch and I almost got blown over:eek: This weather is crazy, but I can't help but feel now after just seeing the news, that I shouldn't be complaining....did you see those tornados in the states...those poor people:sad1:

Very nice. DD14 will be there in a few more years, I hope she feels the same way.

Wait... is this the same girl who's donating her gown? :lmao:

You have lovely young ladies who I can only imagine would do exactly the same thing!:flower3: Yup....same girl....likes to torment her aunt...:lmao:

Yes I do. ::yes::

:goodvibes

MARY...how I've missed you:hug: What we take for granted to someone else is beyond reach....no girl should have to miss her prom because they can't afford a dress.....

Thanks...we're getting really excited!!!

There really is no greater feeling than giving! Every Christmas, my branch serves Christmas Dinner to an inner city school's students and their entire families. We make up baskets for door prizes, have games for the kids and then we serve them dinner. When they come to you after to hug you and thank you for giving their child the only warm meal they will have that day, week or month....just changes the way you look at the world. I love our kids and it's my favorite part of Christmas!!

I'm with you...I carry tylenol now to the parks...I need it after all the big rides:confused3

Aww thanks hon! My understand is this program is expanding more and more every year...we drop our dresses off at a local dry cleaner, they clean them and donate them!

I can't wait to hear if you love WPC as much as we do! Jasmine said this year she's having the sushi...she has become addicted to it:woohoo:

Awww, that is SO sweet that she wants to donate her dress! It looked absolutely gorgeous on her and that's great that she wants another girl to get to feel that way.
I love EE!! The backwards part is a bit scary, yes!
I hope you guys don't get snow!! We're at 75 right here now :-)

What a great Mom you must be to have raised such a wonderful young lady! That is the sweetest thing for Jasmine to want to donate her dress. You must be very proud of her!
I'm with you about EE - I ride it every time DH wants to because I love him - but I always come off of it feeling like my brain was sloshed around in my head and got bruised. I ALWAYS have Advil with me in the parks. A couple of years ago, DH and I went to the world with sister, brother in law and niece - DBIL had a conference the day we went to AK, so it was just DS, DN, DH and me. DN had just reached the height requirement for EE and couldn't wait to go - NOW - my DS does NOT do rollercoasters - so DH and I said we would take her, and she liked that idea, but wanted Mommy to go too. Being the wonderful Mom she is, DS joined us. DH and DN rode together and DS and I were together. After a few seconds, she was gripping the rail very tightly, but doing okay so far - then I looked at the rail and could tell her hands were sweating. Then I looked at her face, and she was in a cold sweat! I just held her hand and kept saying, "Think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts..." until the ride ended. When we got off, DS was literally hugging the wall at the platform, she was so sick. The CM very nicely said, "You need to leave the platform, Ma'am." I thought she was going to cry! We got her into the gift shop, and she survived, but we took DN on the rest of the rides that day! Poor DS! Anyhoo - sorry to hijack your thread - just had to share!
BTW - Jasmine looks STUNNING in that beautiful dress!
